  1. I was wondering why you was granny shifting in the first video. Well done.

Lol knobbies. At least that made the race a little closer. Any plans for an over ride trans?

I personally have problems beating a 45-50 700/yfz450 when they are lightened and stretched. I can barely walk them but i usually get destroyed out the hole. Good times though!

I might do an override. I'm trying to figure out exactly what build I want. I've got the bike completely torn down and its heading to the PC guy. It'll be a while before it gets put back together though.

  2. Great videos! poor guys who ride there on knobbies lol.

Any pics of your bike as set up in those videos? You seem to just have your average play bike with some good power, not set up for strait line at all. Just like mine :)

    Ha! I was running knobbies.

The vids with me running the banshees was in December and the bike wasn't running great and I wasn't racing as hard. Now the vid of me running those Honda 450s is from Jan and the bike was running great and I was power shifting. Those 450s were pretty damn quick.

  3. Emailed him this: WTF are those front porch lights on that thing? Cuz they look effin sweet! What kinda hp is it putting down to do 120? Did you what kind of GPS did you use? Who did the port work? Any other details on the motor? What powerband does it have on it?

  4. are we really talking about 4 strokes here?? vs racing a banshee...

here is my humble opinion..   trails a 700 raptor NOT 660!!!  is a great machine.   if you like to just put around.  but then again  so is a golf cart.....

the 250r is a fun hobby bike.  its extremely outdated and in my opinion an antique design that is nearly impossible to get some trans parts for  including cases.  ( unless you dont mind spending big bucks)

as far as MX racing  any of the top current 4 stroke atv's would pound the 250r into the ground.  the suzuki 450 alone has WAY better ergo's and the motors are so smooth that even box stock i'd rather race one than a comparable 250r..  current 450's box stock race version is even much better.  plus easy to get parts for..    the bombardier 450 is a bad ass as far as design and tech goes.

but in a "drag race"  i'd always take a banshee over all of them..   to me personally  its the king of the 2 strokes.  of course  this is my opinion..

Yea an 86 250r is just a dinosaur compared to an 87 banshee design that barely ever changed

  5. Idk my buddies raced Modded yfz with bolt on and web cams and head work and spanked him and he has a bone stock 05 honda 450r he's also raced stock yfz450s and straight embarrassed them...

Don't judge the quality or performance of a quad based on how bad the guy riding it is. Im tellin you right now, with even skilled riders, that bolt on, Web cammed, worked over YFZ would rock a stock Honda 450r.

  6. O.K. guys sounds like we are comparing apples to oranges here. IMO these two quads are very opposite of one another. I own a 04 Banshee dune ported etc. etc. and a 06 Raptor with the perverbial "Big Three". The Banshee is a 70hp machine the Raptor Im quessing 50-55hp, the Banshee will run circles all day around the Raptor build but you put a 70hp Raptor up to my Banshee I would get stepped on all day. Them Big Bore Raptors with a little port work like what Cuervo Racing does $400 for a 68hp Duner is no sluff, ported or not  Raptors have unreal TQ .Dont overlook them Raptors they are Damn tough quads I would really love to send my motor to Daniel and have him set it up for a all out Drag motor buuuut this is my wifes ride. Back to the Banshees its like building a Small Block Chevy engine it dont cost much for good HP. A piped with decent pipes and jetted Banshee should take a Big Three Raptor but not by much. Everybody has their opinion but this is how I see it.

+1 This has been my experience. Can't say that I disagree with too much of what you have typed up. Good observation.

  7. Parts and labor into my bike at this point

$250 for bore and replate to 105.5mm

    $200 for 12.5:1 105.5 piston

$1000 in the head (That includes porting, +1 valves, high performance springs, Web4 cam)

$40 for my intake setup (I made my own KN proflow. It pays to have a machinist in the family)

$650 Barker Big Bore duals (Got a good deal. Theyre usually about 750-800)

    $300 for PC5

    $200 for dynotune

    $100 for gaskets

Thats what? About 2500-ish? Somebody else can do the math. For 71hp on pump gas and plenty of room to grow.

  8. You must've missed Snakehunt 2012. Fucking waste of time. Parties sucked and there wasn't much drag racing going on.

Oh yea, and the hail storm.

Maybe some people checked the weather before they came, just a guess......

I remember that week. The weekend before, they were already going ape-shit about the tornado apocalypse. I'm sure a lot of people got spooked.
