  1. Hey guys I was on youtube.com last night and came across a video called "Banshee mini Quad 4" so i watched it and saw a little kid riding a Banshee, a 49cc banshee! I did some research and found this : http://www.junbogroup.com/gs.asp?f_id=28&s_id=156&prolist_model=DR708 It's built by a chinese manufactureand as near as I could tell not available in the states. I did email a few dealers in the US to see if they could get one so we'll have to wait and see. Be cool if we could get them here, I know my Daughter would love one and it would be fun to watch her ride it. Here is the youtube video also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzwFwjvae6E Really cool looking, I wonder how hard it would be to stuff a yz engine in???
  2. thanks, I've already got a +4mm stroker 115mm long rod crank and it helped out in the woods but i still had to have the tranny a gear lower and in higher rpm's to get the out of corner power i wanted. I've owned my banshee since 1998 so I am well aware of the power trail manners of it and have made do with it but now all my friends have upgraded to 4 strokes and while I can still win in a flat out drag I feel out gunned in the woods. my setup is 4 mil 115mm stroker long rod, .060 wiesco 795's, timing plate set at +4*, k&n with pro flo adapter, dyno jet kit, boost bottle, fmf fattys w/ power core 2's, 3/8 " reed cage spacers and stock reeds and cages.
  3. Hi guys, I have read almost all of the RZ350 post 's (not all because there are A LOT) and I have heard all of the arguments about wether its worth it or not and all i really want to know is if there is a step by step thread on the subject? If there isn't i have to ask why? i am considering this swap and I want to know how to do it before I dive in. I am building a trail banshee so it needs to have great lowend but I like to go fast so I need it to unwind in the fields. If there is a better/easier/cheaper way to go I will but I would really like to gain the torque I need for the woods. Please if anyone has a step by step repost it if not thanks anyway.
  4. Come on guys, somebody has to have an opinion or something to say about it.
  5. Hey guys, a buddy of mine called me from out of state today to ask a question I personally didn't feel comfortableanswering so i figured I would ask you guys. A buddy of his just picked up a 98 banshee with a .040 bore, a +4mm 115mm long rod stroker ,woods porting, and timing advance plate. He has an extra set of carb off an Arctic Cat ZR440 Sno pro(2001 I think he said) and wanted to know if he could replace the stock carbs with the sno pro carbs. I have never heard of anyone doing this and didn't want to give him bad advice so i told him I would get back to him after i checked with the experts, so what do you guys think? Please let me know because it would be intresting to see it work. thanks.
  6. Has anyone considered starting with the injection system off a Phazer 500? A buddy of mine has a Phazer that is wrecked that i could pick up real cheap and i was going to experiment with it. I ride my banshee all year round with temp changes from -10*f to 100*f in central new york and i think fuel injection would be great. Also what about artic cat systems? The sno pro 440 is fuel injected and 2 stroke, anyone ever considered a remapped ecu and the entire system from that?
  7. I know the fatty's arent a top end pipe but i got them used for under $250 and i stay 3-4 quad lengths a head of the modded raptor 660 i ride with and it doesnt bog on the top just keeps pulling. yes I am using the stock intake boots right now but would like to jump up to twin clamp ons when i get bigger carbs.
  8. well after ten years of beating on it, I decided it was time to treat my 1998 banshee to a make over and engine overhaul! Did i mention the head gasket leak and piston melt down? Mod list pre meltdown: - .060 wiseco pro-lites - Stock Stroke crank (started to come apart and bearings got warm from leak) - FMF fatty's w/ power core 2's - stock carbs Dyno jet kit (370 main, stock pilot?? help???) - 3/8 reed spacers stock cages and reeds - Boost bottle - Pro flo adapter w/ K&N filter, lid removed - Hinson clutch basket - Pro Design adj. timing plate set at +7* Mod list when put back together: - .080 over wiseco stroker pistons - 4 mm 115mm long rod stroker crank - 4 mm spacer plate - home port job(cleaned up casting flaws added boost ports no port hieght changes) - FMF fatty's w/ power core 2's - Duncan racing PT powerhead 18cc domes (1490 ft above sea level) - Stock carbs( trying to find a set of 35mm pwks) - dyno jet kit 370 main, Pilot ???? (again 1490ft above sea level) - Pro flo w/ K&N filter(dual clamp on filters if I get 35mm's) - Hinson basket - Pro Design adj. timing plate set at ???? - 200 watt ricky stator My main concern is my compression with 18cc domes and what fuel to run and what to set the timing at. I run mostly woods and some wide open fields. not worried about bottom end power cuz i have only ever owned two strokes and can deal in the woods. I want the most power all across the board. i came here because i have read through these fourms and i am sure i came to the right place. thanks guys
  9. I live in Skaneateles just outside auburn...... I ride mostly woods and wide open fields along with a variety of 4 strokes(Raptor 660, 2 warrior 350's, predator 500, YFZ450, and a Grizzly 700) and one Blaster 200. I ran (pre head gasket leak and hi speed melt down) 60 over, timing advanced 7 degrees, reed cage spacers, dynojet kit, proflow adapter/k&n filter lid off airbox, boost bottle(still not totally convinced but had it 8 years), fmf fattys/ power core 2's, and a homedone port clean up. first i would like to say i love my shee and have since day one in stock form in 1998. second when people ask if i would reccomend one for woods riding i say no..... not because its not good in the woods, you just need to know how to ride a 2 stroke. I always say stay in second gear, high rev's and know where the clutch is! this brings me to my point... i have loads of low end and stay well a head of the raptor and predator in the woods( riding experiance also plays a key role) but i was also able to lay down a 105 mph top speed run down a private road paced by a kawasaki 900rr ninja (sure somebody will quesion that). you can gain lowend and top end all at the same time, just need to know how to use the powerband to your advantage. now for the haters!!!!! you may not agree with my set up but it works for me and it keeps me out front. i may get beat out of the hole by four strokes but i have the lead when it counts! Raptor 660 by 3 quad lengths at the 1/4 mile mark( DMC alien exhaust, dynojet jet kit, k&n filter) Predator 500 by 2 quad lengths at the 1/4 mile mark(K&N filter, slip on muffler not sure what kind, and jetted) will post videos when i get them off the crashed laptop on to this one
