  1. bottom line, professionalism sells products and service... with a name like that and a web site like that it gives off the wrong impression, like tyler said... if they want to be taken seriously then they should try and look more proffesional.. first impressions are everything, specially in business.... and btw: just cus someone isnt on bhq, doesnt mean they cant do what others on here can... i noe a lil someone down here in south fl, that does great things with these bikes ( and yes, this time i did my research and it's not the same fucktard from my other post) but he doesnt want to be in the scene anymore... he still taking little jobs here and there and will be doing some stuff for me but doesnt wasnt to have a name. i've hear about laz (4strokekilla's guy) and a couple other good guys down here, but i'm glad i found bhq because honestly there are alot of people out there claiming shit they cant prove and doing retarded work.... it's a great thing we have a place to review and hopefully inform our selves of such happenings. +2 for bhq.com
  2. bro, like previously stated, u need to tap that hole where ur finger is and add an idle screw to that carb... to diagnose ur bogging problem u need to eliminated the obvious before u go any further, get the idle screw and re-sync ur carbs and see if that works, if it don't then post back.
  3. i was at the stadium(sand box) today and about 20 banshees showed up, they were riding up and down 183 then hit the sand for a bit... couple of races nothing too crazy.
  4. Yeah, I wish I would've had the $$ to get that head from u alf, but holidays>ME! If things don't work out well with this head I'll sell it and prob order 1 from ya.

  6. they are pricey, i actually just picked 1 up from a friend and ordered 20cc domes from them, i got the head for a super good deal since it didnt come with domes.... but the domes alone are expensive and they do cut custom domes. over all i really like the style of this head, from what i can see it has a lot of open area where the water can flow by, and yeah it is a very thick aluminum. i'll let u guys know how it goes when i received the domes and put it on.
  7. Yeah, actually I'm trying to work out a deal with a fellow hq'r for some 28's... The lectrons are great carbs, sad part is that I don't wanna build my bike to the point I'm going to need them. I even spoke to dennis packard from packard racing and he told me how to tune them and what I needed, seems pretty easy, just 1 needle to mess with, but mines even have a power jet so they really are great carbs for anyone looking to drag or dune! Where I ride is mostly tight trails and 1 of my main goals in life is learning to cat walk my banshee so I need that low end!
  8. hey guys, just wanted to update ya on the status of my bike... it's still down to bare frame, i'm waiting for some parts and my frame to finish getting painted... dude who paints had done it already but it flaked off on a small area and i sent it back to get done right! im in the process of getting 28mm carbs, ima just ditch the lectrons cus i honestly dont need them, and i found a local dude selling a torqueline cool head for cheap so i grabbed it, i'm waiting for 20cc domes to come in so i can finish the motor, after that just tune and ride! hopefully i'll have it ready b4 newyears! heres a pik of what its looking like...
  9. how about a torque line head from rk tek? i noe they arent a site sponsor, but i ask because a couple of guys around my area run this head and they havent had a complain yet....
  10. Just google mean banshee, there a bunch of grills that u can get, 1 of the things that I've seen that make a banshee look most distinguished are the 'eyes" headlight covers, depending how u put them it either looks mean, or stoned... Lol!
  11. Hey alf thanks bro, I'll b hitting u up soon hopefully. Scratch that previous measurement, its 64.5mm, .20 over, which is actually pretty good news for me cus I'm tryin to keep this bike as stock as possible!

Aight, I got to take the top end off the motor, and I found out Its bored .60 over (65.5mm pistons), the rings looked new, had a nice shine, no burnt spot or anything, the walls looked pretty good, nothing u can feel with your finger nail, no deep scratches just some alloy stains but they too didn't even look too bad... I'm starting to think that dude wasn't lying when he told me the cool head had fucked up domes... Hence the reason for different comp readings. everything under that looked stock... The rod didn't have too much play side to side and none up and down... The gaskets didn't look too bad, not leaking from anywhere... I doubt its stroked cus like I said the rod looked like a factory piece, no billet or anything... Its stamp I think 29L on the rod, and its a copper/rusty color... I think I'm not gonna touch any of that cus honestly it doesn't look too bad, everything looked pretty clean. I haven't had the porting checked yet, but judging by what I seen, it too didn't look too bad, its a little rought, I feel like they could have done a better job of smoothing it, I might just get it done, don't noe how much that'll cost yet, I'll now more about that hopefully next week. It looks like its just a mild port job, there's still a lot of material left... Over all I think ima just get a new gasket set, order some new rings(just in case) and put everything back together and see where I'm at. as far as the carbs go, I have to send my findings to dennis packard and see what he recommend I do about them and what needle to use... I checked the carbs with a schematic on their website and they looked to be complete so I guess ima just keep them... Since I'm bored out and ported I guess I can prob just use them.

Ok, well tomorrow I'm taking my juggs to a local "builder" a couple of people have recomended, ima have him check out the ports and I'll see what he tells me, I just want to try and get an understanding of how the porting works so I noe if he's just trying to get me or if he's telling me the truth... As soon as I mention to anyone that I have a banshee the first thing they want to do if a full all-out drag port and I'm not looking for that unless this port job is soo bad that I have to... If I can clean this up and have it run like stock then that's my best option. I haven't had a chance to get to the frame but judging by my friends bike its not that bad, I think I can prob straighten it out my self... The steering loop doesn't look that bad and my a-arm bushings don't look too bad either, just dirty... Ima clean all that ish and re grease everything... I do need 1 wheel bearing cus 1 of the front spindles rocks with the wheel of!
  14. Ok, I took the bike down to the frame, I'm getting everything ready for paint now. I'm a little confused as to what to measure on the porting, like do I just measure in a cross pattern? (Top to bottom, side to side). I should have all the numbers for u guys soon. I have some piks but they are on my pc, I'm using my fone right now.
  15. does the clymer manual come on a cd? 1 of my friends has a manual on a cd but i dont recall which brand it is... it has all the specs and tear down of the bike looked pretty neat. and yeah i'm already feeling the wallet part... already i bought new plastics and my front end kit is soon to be on its way... how do u guys feel about the anodize a arm bearing kits on ebay?
  16. yeah, trust me thats exactly how i feel... but i had to make sure i got all my stuff before getting into it with him, i told him to try and atleast get me some money but i doubt any of that is gonna happen, i'm honestly taking it as a lesson learned, people just arent who they say they are.... i have about 4 other friends with banshee's who will not be getting a referal to him.. so imo he looses more. i'll get another head before i put it back together. when i first brought the bike to him he told me the plugs looked like it was running rich, he took a look at the gas and said it had too much gas it looked too light...
  17. thanks to all for the replys... so i went to call buddy this morning and he doesnt pick up... i showed up at his house and my worst nightmare became a reality... needless to say, it's too late for the head. he said the domes where bad and he had to trade it... long story short i got f'ed over, he prob came up $100 on my head. i grabbed all my other isht and the stock head and rode the hell out, he even offered to help me put it all back together free of charge(of course since he prob already made what he would've charged off the head...) but i said "yeah, i'll call u when i'm ready for another 1! lol!" NEVER AGAIN! i have the shee with me now and tomorrow ima start to tear it apart and get it ready for paint. i still have the lectrons, i'm not sure what ima do cus i would like to keep them... i was looking at the bike and it looks like its stock bore, tomorrow i plan on pulling the cylinders and measuring them and i'll post the findings on here... BTW: how can i tell if it's a 4mil or stock? I got some piks for u guys, they are crappy cell fone piks but that'll have to do for right now... port job and now i have 2 more questions... when i turn the wheel alll the way max to either dirrection that wheel gets all retarded.. whats this mean? and #2 is my frame bent or is this just a subframe that i can bend back into shape?
  18. i'm picking the bike up tomorrow morning, i've been looking in this site alot and it doesnt seem tooo difficult to work on this bike... i'm a car mechanic, i just never had the chance to work on banshee's but i've taken my rm125 apart before and put it back together plus all the info on this site, i think i'll be ok...if anything he can help me do major stuff... economy isnt the best to be paying someone for something i could do myself... i'll be ripping the bike completely apart thou, i'll get ya the piks of the the porting and everything soon. it seemed weird to me that this guy tells me his friend wants to trade me his 34mm keihins carbs for my 'messed up' lectrons, and check how he says the same guy is gonna trade me his stock head plus 20 or 30 bucks ontop for my prodesign cool head... i mean just cus i'm not updated on something doesnt mean i'm a sucker, i've seen oem heads on ebay and craigslist for 25-50 bucks and cool heads go for the least 100 used...
  19. Hey thanks for the reply. So I got a call from my buddy and he tells me that 1 of the lectron carbs has a broken bowl and it missing a spring somewhere, he said my best bet is to just get rid of them, cus finding the parts to fix them might be harder than just exchanging them. On a second topic, he told me again to get rid of the pro design kool head, he said if I find someone with a stock head to trade + $$ ontop, is that head that bad? Just trying to make sure he doesn't just want it for himself...
  20. im on the Same boat as u, except i already have the lectron (34MM).. i'm trying to decide wether to keep them or swap to smaller keihins or mikunis... i'd have to drive almost 1 hr to get my bike tuned cus none of the builders around me like to tune lectrons.... i'm starting to think they just scare cus honestly it doesnt sound as bad ONLINE...
  21. first of, hello to everyone in bh.com! just need some opinions from some of u guys that know more than me.... i recently bought my first banshee, it is a 97 the bike came with some upgrades and i wanna see what u guys recommend and some opinions. i bought the bike from a local dude who had the bike sitting for some time (couple months). when i went to pick up the bike it would not shift , i brought the bike to a good friend of mines that works on banshees and he started pointing shit out left and right. here are the mods that we could see: cool heads t5 pipes w/ silencers vforce3 reeds boost bottle 34mm LECTRON CARBS (GAS) *dont noe the jet size yet... some type of port job, he said its shitty.... comp. on left side is 155 and right side is 165 now to start with the Q's... 1. of rip, my dude tells me to get rid of the cool heads and the boost bottle ( they garbage), mind ya i like them cus they look nice.... wut ya think? 2. we got the bike running and he takes it down the block, comes back and tell me the bike has NO BOTTOM END! which i noticed, he says it can just be the carbs dirty, but i've been researching and i'm starting to lean towrads the carbs being tooo big for this setup, mind ya we havent opened the engine so i dont noe the bore/stroke, but it doesnt look like it got any interior work except for the (shitty) porting... wut u think, lectrons too big? 3. i left him the bike to clean the carbs and see if that helps, my goal for the bike is good low to midrange power, i really dont care tooo much about top end cus i dont need to be hauling ass in this bike, i'm going to mostly use it on trails and occasionally take it to the "sand dunes" we have down here in fl. but then again i dont want the bike to be a slug uptop, what do u guys recommend i either add or remove to reach my goal? thanks in advance to everyone, really apprecciated any help!
