  1. What should it be? How do I check it also, do I just remove the plugs and hook a compression tester and kick it over? If so how many times should I kick it?
  2. Basically I don't know exactly what I am doing. An old roommate left a 1990 Banshee that didn't run at my house. The problem was electrical, so by process of elimination I found and corrected the problem. Every thing electrical is now new effectively, then I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs because it still wouldn't start. When I put the carbs back in it fired a couple times, then finally started. I gave it a little gas, the let off the throttle and it quit. I got it to start once more after that, then again let off the throttle and it quit. Now, all I get is a little backfire when I'm kicking it and some smoke comes out of it. I know very little about 2 stroke engines and any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  3. I have a 1990 yamaha banshee that was basically left at my house when a roommate moved out. It has not run for as long as I have had it. I have replaced every electrical component and wire with the exception of the stator and rotor inside the generator. I am still having a difficult time getting any spark, and the spark I get is very weak. Is there any possible issue that I am missing or am I going to just have to suck it up and buy a new stator. The rotor is in good shape.
