  1. I was thinking about doing the same thing and add a coolhead to my bike. I currently have a milled stock head. I like the fact that the domes are interchangable. The only thing I DO NOT like about the coolhead's is there are soooo many damn o-rings that could fail. And I haven't done much research on em, but it seems like there is a lot more room for error. Please correct me if im wrong

  2. i just had a couple ?'s i ahve a 1996 banshee that is bore to 388 and cool heads full fmf but no reeds can i just trough on vforce reeds and not have to jet my carb and how much is it to get reeds but on

CaptainHowdie, since you're running away from this, I will add my .02 lol!!! You MUST rejet when you put reeds on. Did you not jet it when you put the pipes on??? What jets are you running now (slowjet and main jet)? Unless you wanna gamble on burning the motor up, I would rejet it. Reeds are easy to put in, DO NOT pay someone to put em in. Take your carbs and carb boots off and put the new reeds in. I have the vforce 3's with t-5 pipes and its still a work in process with jetting.

  3. maybe pull the stator cover and see if the bolts didn't come out of the pickup on the flywheel. I had the same problem last week and started by checking the ignition and CDI and all that was fine. So we pulled the stator cover and a tiny little bolt fell out when we pulled it off and it was the bolt to hold the pickup on.

  4. Oh wow!!! This sounds exactly like what I went through back in July when I bought mine, only I paid $1800 for mine and after 3 top end rebuilds, new frame and a couple thousand more, I got over $4k in mine. I didn't know a damn thing about these things when I bought it. I had the local dealership rebuild mine the first time and second time and yes, it was expensive. The last time, I did it myself. I was very intimidated by doing it, but BUY A MANUAL and ASK QUESTIONS ON THE FORUMS. It will save you tons of $$ in the end and besides, its f'n cold out right now and no need to ride it anyway. Just speaking from experience and telling ya what I've learned over the months. Your story sounds exactly like mine. Mine made it down the street and back once I got it home and pooof!!

  5. Yeah Cam and I are tight enuff I try to take the heat when his wife comes out in the shop and asks "so are we not gonna go out tonight since ur still working on 4wheelers?" LOL!! I need a chrome stator cover and waterpump cover...thats ur new task lol!!

  6. Got em put on dis weekend!! Damn I love em!! The softness in the suspension with the stock shocks I like. Now I have never ridden a bike with elka's or any other sort of suspension so I don't have a real educated opinion. I didn't have +2 tie rods, so CamAtv extended my stockers. He cut them in half and took measurements from a set of +2 tie rods and threaded them where he cut them and screwed an extension in em and welded them. They look completley stock and are perfect on length. I will post pics here soon.

  7. I just wanted to take a minute to give Cam some props for what all he's done for me. Cam and I met when I first got my banshee and he sold me a set of A-arms since mine were bent severely. After going through the dealership for a while (BAD MISTAKE), I went back to Cam for advice and help with my banshee problems. Sure as shit, everything the dealership has done, Cam and I have had to re-do it. For example yesterday I got a milled head from a local shop here in town and the headgasket was leaking due to not being cut flat or the failure in the waterpump gear and overheating. Cam also fabricated a pair of extended tie rods for me so I could put the +2 arms on. The guy is good. He's always been fair with me on prices for parts and labor. We worked on my banshee for 8-9 hrs yesterday and it was non-stop work the entire time. I'm not going to disclose a price due to the fact that is between Cam and myself. Just as we get it fired and he takes it down the alley and back and I hop on it and take to the end of the alley, I get busted by the local police LOL!! This was 10 p.m. btw! The cop was cool about it, but had us both nervous for a bit lol!! But anyway, if anyone has the pleasure of talking to or dealing with Cam, he does excellent work and is fair.

  8. im still rideing the shock shocks with +2 arms it sits alittle lower when the shocks arnt fully turn to there stiffest position. i just keep them stiff and ride. so far 2 summers and still going strong. i only weight 165lbs so its not to bad. i accually like they softer ride. . i did buy some works dual rates with rezzys but got ripped because they leaked oil as soon as i put them on. Damn ebay lol

this is with them on theres softest setting. would not suggest rideing like this way to low and soft

i guess i dont have any pics of them with the shocks on there stiffest setting

That looks awesome and the stance is perfect for what I want. I just got mine in the mail this afternoon and keep looking at em wanting to put em now!! I got a used set of fullflight +2 arms for $150 shipped. They are in good shape.

  9. It happened to me once and i just yanked the killswitch and it shut off. My butt puckered water tight on that deal. I didn't want to pull the clutch just so I wouldn't hurt the motor, so i just tried to stay calm and think one step at a time. I'm a firm believer in killswitches though. I went over the handlebars one time and the banshee kept going and after that I went and got a killswitch and put it on. Never had a problem since. Invest in the $35 lil killswitch, its good insurance.

  10. ooo yeaaa ummm not looking to throw in anything on my side of the deal. i actually really like this yfz... ( and anyone who knows me knows i think 4 strokes are for pit bikes ONLY)..

and i know what you mean red. i have a full lsr banshee with a 490cc cheeta in it with all the stuff you could imagine thats a PROVEN ass kicker can't get 6500 out of it.. cant bring myself to part it out its just to much fun to ride..

i think ole cal's (kickstartyourballs) gonna buy it here pretty soon anyways!>

"kickstartmyballs"!!! I love it LOL!!! Cam, yes u do think 4 strokes are for pitbikes, you told me that when I came sobbing to you about my banshee and then I left with a happy face after u took a look at it and calmed it down lol!! U need to call me asap!! I still can't believe I beat your friends yellow banshee wit you behind the wheel!! Ole red and black here has got some hp baby! I know it wasn't rider skills either, cuz I am def lacking in that area

  11. i might have a YFZ to do a partial trade with?..

i bought it thinking i was going to do a banshee engine conversion but after riding it i cannot bring myself to tear up the frame. its an all JB racing preped yfz. was built for Thomas Brown. has JB preped frame, a-arms, swingarm and full PEP zps shocks all around with remote HUGE resivours. JB anti vibe stem, and ported stock motor with full GYTR clutch. the bad thing is 5th gear is hoping around here locally i havent even got into 5th in the trails. its the smoothest and longest powerbanded yfz i have ever rode.. full Nmotion pipe. stock carb i was told its all stock engine enternals BUT dont know at all. has k+n filter also.

pm me your email and i can send over some pics.. i live in nickerson kansas..

I can vouch for that!! I just saw it last weekend and it is purty sick!!
