  1. I will try and pull the flywheel off this weekend and take a picture. Thanks for the replies.
  2. I just rebuilt my complete bottom end on my 95. When I was dissasembling I notice the stator was on what I assume is an adjustable plate and was rotated all the way forward. (again I assume full advance) The bike is all stock except for FMF fatty pipes and a K&N filter with no box top. It seems to rev very quickley. My question is... If I retard the timing will I get more mid?? OR what are my results? Thanks in advance for my ignorance. Rob.
  3. Only burned it down once. The other rebuild was just because it's a 95 that was running virgin cylinders. When I put the FMF's on it I thought I had it jetted right. Apperantley not. LOL! OF course everyone burns one down going 5th gear down the beach right??? Thats what Coos bay Yamaha said as they charged me $700 to rebuild, re jet and remove my TORS. But I was glad to pay as It was on the first day of our week long trip and I wasnt about to do it at camp.
  4. Ive posted here asking a few questions about my new Banshee and thought it would be nice to introduce myself. My name is Robert. Im 38 and I live in the greater Seattle area of Wa. I just got my first Banshee last year (alway's wanted one) and I love it. I also have a Polaris RZR "S" and an 01 Warrior that the wife rides. I have been in the powersports industry all my life and owned a Polaris dealership for 6 years. I Snowmobile in the winter and hit the Oregon Coast in the summer when im not to busy selling Harley's. My Shee is a 1995 (purple/yellow) That I got for a song. She was a stocker when I got her. Ive rebuilt her (twice now due to some bad jetting at the beach) and have replaced the inner workings of the transmission. Other than that I put some FMF Fatty's on her and am running paddles. Thats it. Thats about all I have. just wanted to say hi. Thanks for having me. Rob.
  5. Thats what I was thinking of doing. Was just wondering if anyone had any insight.. Thanks.
  6. Running Sand Gear paddles (which suck by the way) and stock swingarm. The bike is bone stock except the FMF fatty's and the TORS removal.
  7. I have a 1995 Banshee with FMF Fatty pipes. No other mods have been done. I run the southern Oregon dunes with the bike and am curious what gearing (sprockets) works the best in this application? My wife rides a Warrior so Im not riding real aggresive but want a taller gear ratio for less shifting.. Any ideas? Thanks.
  8. I pulled my motor and split the cases. Turns out the rear shift fork had been rubbing on one of the gears. It was eithe mis alligned or fork was bent. I bought all new both gear sets, shift shaft, shift drum and forks off of a 2006 for $73. That and a gasket set and seal kit and I was only out $138. Just got it back together last night. Will be putting it back in over the weekend. These things are easy to work on. Who knew you could replace the innards of the tranny in a day?? As the guy's on here will tell you, you need to tear it down to find out whats wrong.... There isnt really a whole lot to them once you get going.
  9. Clutch discs are stuck together. This happens if they sit for a while. It will go away after putting it in gear a few times...
  10. Thanks for that. It gives me a starting point rather than pulling the whole motor apart.
  11. Was riding my bike last weekend and was shifting up through the gears and got to third and it wouldnt go any further?? If i rock the bike back and forth I can get it into fourth and back to third but other than that it's locked up. Any ideas? Ive heard there is a weak link in the shift star/shift rod?? Any info or diagrams would be great. Thanks in advance. Robert.
  12. Hey there, My name is Rob and im a newby to this forum. Just wanted to stop in and say hi!!!
  13. Dumb question, But did you change the plug wires and caps when you replaced the CDI??
  14. First off hello. My name is Robert and I am new to the forum! I just picked up my first Banshee. It's a 1995 bone stock one. The problem is when it is idling it blows unburned fuel out of the left side muffler. What causes this? When I rap it out it cleans up and runs great. It seems to be just at idle. Is this a stuck float? or somthing worse? Any help is greatly appreciated. Rob.
