  1. Hi Snopczynski, I do want to understand more about 2in1 or 3in1 pipes. If they can't compete with 2in2 or 3in3 it should have a or more reasons and I want ot know which. So I need input on the setup in stock and in modified status of any 2in1 style exhaust. As I just know this board and atv with such a pipe, I think, it's the right place to get a little bit more light on that topic. MacDizzy has no further posts on such a pipe ... and I think, no affordable software was ever written for such a thought ... And no, I will maybe never install one of a Motofast or DynoPort, as I don't own a Banshee nowadays. Just rode and modified the brother of them all, the 31K YPVS on the road ~10 years ago. I'm familiar with mechanical engineering and think to sort out some project ideas ;-) . Just to know, that a pipe or two are not competitive at a given spec engine, will not show all of the truth. At the end, it is all about mathematics and harmonics, no? I'm just curious, as at a Banshee and at a Kawasaki H1/H2 the single pipe isn't running sooo well, but at an 70s K
  2. Hi Snopczynski, thanx for the links, your graphs are very appreciated. They are very good to compare for a given engine setup and especially for the Banshee one. As I'm NOT going to install any pipe to a Banshee, I do not need any further info, on which bike is good or bad for any usage of the quad. I just started through all the threads with similar topics and saw you very activ and your post # shows also, you should have been a good way into the depths of this subject. So maybe you could be helpfull for further thoughts, if you would like: 5) As I do want to know WHY these 2in1 pipes perform in that kind of way, I started thinking at some points, so what do you think, are the reasons for their lack over the wide rev-range, Snopcynski? Any other is very welcome to join also at that point. 6) do you still have a 2in1 pipe in your barn? What about the overall volume of a 2in1 'til the end of the stinger, kind of teh same as one of the two 2in2 pipes or is/was there significant more volume given or were they restricted in the e.g. biggest diameter 'cause of given frame, so made just to fit? 7) what was seen on the temp side, any seen more or less difference after/while running for a good time or were they just fitted to the engine for the dyno run? 8) what are the stingers inner diameter about, how much is Banshee original, what do have "better" working aftermarket pipes as stinger diameter and what a MotoFast or Dynaport? 9) For what reason did the builders design those 2in1 pipes? Just to get rid off some kilogramms or for sound or fore exclusivity or for a given engine setup? 10) Has someone ever calculated those 2in1, do they have e.g. similar length as the "better" ones? 11) at what distance exhaust-port up to the connecting point of the exhaust manifold do those 2in1 run? 12) What port timings do have original Banshee's? 13) What port timing's (not only exhaust) did the engine at the dyno graphs here at the upper links have? 14) Banshee's come without exhaust valve systems, like the YPVS as RD/RZ bikes had, right? So do the Banshee's have the same port timings and port shapes as the old RD/RZ350LC 1980-1982 had, before YPVS hit the road planet in 1983 at the 31K and later the 1WW or 1WX? Do use Banshee owners also the YPVS barrels? 15) What gear ratios does a Banshee have in original, the same as the RD350LC or later RD350YPVS had or were there changes e.g. until 2006, the last year they were sold? 16) If you would lay a stock 2in2 exhaust dyna graph over the at the top shown links, how good or bad would the 2in1 Dynograph would look like? Or are teh 2in1 just less effected compared to other 2in2 aftermarket pipes? 17) where do the Banshee's peek in stock, what max. dyno torque and hp do they have and smooth or hard acceleration through the rev ranges? 18) How many overrev rpms does a stock engine allow and how much the 2in1, both compaared to other aftermarket 2in2 sets? 19) how many cones do have the 2in1's after joining and until the stinger and how many cones does a 2in2 aftermarket have maybe here to compare the Pro circuits as we can look at the dyno charts? 20) at what length after piston do the 2in2 start to open the sucktion cone and at what length the 2in1 DynoPort? 22) Anyone having cone lengths and diameters of Banshee stock and aftermarket pipes? 23) Anyone having a pipe stock or aftermarket, especially one "better" one and a DynoPort 2in1 or MotoFast, to meassure how many liters of volume it has? I think, putting in a plastic sack or two would do the job and then filling with water or so ... 24) anyone here familiar with calculation programms for exhaust systems and knows, if his could do 2in1 pipe or also 1in2 intake manifold calcs, using also all port timings? Maybe flat/boxer engine with one crankhousing and a 2in1 pipe .... or 1in2 intake manifold for a shared crankhousing? 25) If you would use YPVS barrels, would it show more effect, then fitting a low/mid "better" aftermarket 2in2 pipe system? 26) would a YPVS system fitted to a 2in1 piped engine show better results in low/mid, or would the low/mid "better" aftermarket ones would do a better job? Just looking at the dynographs, not money or knowledge wise? 27) Why is it, that at some threads, the 2in1 pipes of MotoFast or DynoPort were told to be low/mid pipes, and Snopczynski's show a top end one? (lower then "better ipes, but very peeky...) 28) Any more dynocharts available or somewhere on the forums a source for that or an external link? 29) The 1in2 carb manifold splitter is also not uninteresting, but will come to that topic later at an other thread. Just that, seems, it has a not bad potential, as double-28mm compared with single-35 or -33mm carb is not really a fair game passage area wise, isn't it? 30) Anyone knows other 2-stroke engines, who use 2in1 pipe, maybe snowmobiles or race boats? Any forum you can recommend on that technical knowledge wise? Huh, lot of questions, who is joining to give if jsut a view answers It would help me a lot! Thanx for your patience ;-) upfront Cheers Carsten
  3. Thank you 2twin350s. so 1) done 2) Series names of the 2in1 Dyno-port and Moto Fast exhausts, so maybe to have better search keys here in the forum? 3) Are there 2in1 builders here on this board, maybe what alias name? 4) NEW! Anyone knows other 2-stroke engines or builders which/who fit a 2in1 pipe or maybe a 3in1 pipe or maybe a 2in1 at a 2-cyl. flat engine? Maybe at snowmobiles or race boats or other atv's? Any hint is welcome, also for good forums english spoken for worth to have a look inside technicla wise. I just got a picture of a 3in1 of a sidecar from the mid 70s, from famous Rudi Kurt light weight designer and ex-racer. Got in contact with his wife Dane but hasn't had more info on the 3in1 pipe. Thanx for any help. Cheers Carsten
  4. Hi everyone, been new o this board and want to say hello. My name is Carsten and love 2-strokes for my life time. First, searching Google about "Banshee 2in1", I went over this board, then tried to use the search option. As I found a hugh fundus here, very appreciated, I would like to get some help from you. To use the right key words. "2in1" just shows to much (non specific) posts and topics and interchanged ones with 2in1 K&N filters and 2in1 carb manifolds (which should be called all 1in2, but anyways :-) ). I'm behind the exhaust subject 2in1 pipe (not mufflers!). 1) Who are the builders of 2in1 exhausts? Already found: - MotoFast - DynoPort - more? 2) Do they have special names for them, I don't wonna get into subjects with 2in2 exhaust of them. 3) Any known builders here on the board itself to get in contact with them? I do have a lot of questions in the cue, as I'm around sorting out dos and donts for a future multi-cylinder project. More detailed questions will follow later. Thanx for help. Cheers Carsten
