  1. Cool cool. I forgot to mention that i did spray carb cleaner all around the carbs, boots, and reeds. No change in idle occured. How do i check for head gasket leak? There is no leak down in the cylinders. Is there anything else that i can check into while im at it?
  2. problem #1 i have one cyl @ 165psi and the other @ 145psi. Problem #2 the 165psi cyl runs much hotter especially noticable at start up. 145psi cyl has less exhaust force than the other side and backfires very lightly and may sputter a little. As the engine warms up the cylinders somewhat catch up to each other in regards to equal temp. (Testing by hand only) I have cleaned carbs with carb cleaner and blown out with air, synchronized carb slides, and both carbs seem to be flowing fine but i have not dipped them in carb cleaner solution.
  3. my bike is stock. I am running T-5s with k&ns, boysen reeds, without tors. main jet is a 310, does that sound right??
  4. i have a stocker ( stock engine and carbs). But im running T-5s, boysen reeds with stock cages, and k&n pods, without TORS. the main jet is 310. Does that sound right to everybody or.....? Im asking because my problem is it bogs on me a lil but i RUN THE SHIT OUT OF IT so its not loading up from a wussy riding style! It isnt as bad as - no spark to a hole, just more so than say a factory stock banshee (rode one for a taste test). Its a pain in the ass when im riding through the hills. Maybe bad throttle response? Any help would seriously be appretiated.....thanks all
  5. Very cool. Thanks for your help with everything. See ya out there
  6. k&n air filters and TORS eliminator
  7. Thanks for all of your help. I will see what i can do with the timing and reeds. Thanks again
  8. I already have T-5's so i will look into the rest especially the milling and the timing plate. Adjusting the timing affects the power one way or the other right? so when i adjust the timing to tune in the low end i am sacrificing the top end? i found an accutec cool head for $100 (not sure if thats a good brand) and i need to figure out what size domes to run. I appretiate all of your advice. thanks
  9. Im brand new to the site and looking for some advice. im not new to the bike but its been about 15 yrs so the memories a bit fuzzy. i have a few Q's. (1) What does a reed spacer do? (2) what reeds work best with stock motor and stock cages? (3) Does a boost bottle really help? (4) looking to create better low end power...how? These Q's might seem small and i realize you get what you pay for but im really on a budget right now Thanks to everyone who can help. VP
