  1. just had my motor rebuilt to .030 over and it has wiseco pistons. What my problem is though is that my kick start lever does not catch all the time and I am working on fixing it, but I couldn't get the thing to start for me today. I did have it running yesterday, but today it wouldn't run at all. I am confused? I heard some ppl say that once u rebuild it, it takes a few kicks to get it going, but I also heard that it should start up right away. What gives!
  2. i will have to look at it tomorrow. i need to also look at the spring to. thanks alot.
  3. ok, this is my problem. Whenever I want to start my banshee, I kick it as much as I can, but at times the kick start catches and most of the time it doesn't, like something is broke inside on the gears. So I took the cover off and looked, the gears looked fine. I do not know what to look for next?
  4. thanks for the helpful info, also, I did not hold the carbs open, and I dont really know if the gas was off, and I thought the gauge stopped moving, but I will try it tomorrow and see what happens. I was going to list my mods on my bike, but like I said earlier in my first message, I just bought it yesterday and other than what I saw or what the guy told me it had, I have no idea what else is on it(internally) of course.
  5. I used a MATCO brand, I borrowed from a local mechanic. I also kicked probably 5-8 times, it makes it harder to kick when the lever sometimes just slams down and has no tension.
  6. hey thanks for the info, I had a bad feeling that I had to rebuild. But atleast I know what I need to do. I appreciate it!
  7. I just got my first banshee yesterday, and I really like it. I tried to move it today and this is what happened. I had to kick start it like 10 times, and I still did not get it started. I was told to try a compression test on it and I did (hopefully I did that right) and it came out around 70psi. After getting mad at the shee, I "bumped" started it, and it ran great. When I came to a stop and just let it idle, it idled fine, no gutless takeoffs or anything. I then called the guy I got it from and asked how to exactly start it, he said that if it doesnt start after 3-5x, then SHOOT ETHER IN IT! I know that that is not the way to start it. But anyway, I just don't know what I have to do to make the thing run better, mainly start up after the first kick. Oh and by the way, something is wrong with the kick start lever, it catches every now and then, like it will go all the way down without any tension. I know something is wrong there. its a 96 banshee, and the guy I bought it from said it was rebuilt about 15 hours ago. HELP!
