  1. would one need to adjust all jetting or just the main?

Well i posted up before, and have verification on what i have, i want to get a little more power out of her Current: cool head (140ish compression on both) Toomey t5s flat slide carbs adj stator at +4 direct mount k and ns with outerwears port job i also just found out its running 15/41 gearing instead of 14/41? how come someone would do this? what else can i do without dickin up my tuning too much?
  3. anyway to tell if it has been done? i have a good machine shop local some of you may have heard of, lindsay machine, but like i said it has engraving on it but not sure if its for that reason
  4. forgot to mention that, i think it has porting as it has engraving on it WMR on one side and like willy mac racing or something on the other which leads me to believe it does, any way to tell for sure? also im not sure which domes i have, when i compression tested i was at 140/140 as well

Hey guys, went out 2 weekends ago with the shee running sand mountain Ut, i have to say my banshee still impresses me, however i finally got beat by a 450 (not a huge fan of 450s at all) prior to this my only losses were to alcohol banshees, turbod raptor, r1 swapped raptor, and a built predator on nitrous, well this 450 supposably only had bolt on mods which i called bs but his friends had stroker kits and this would still beat it, whether they were just makin it up or not it bugged me getting beat, so i would like to make it a little bit faster, what can i do? here are my current mods Toomey t-5 pipes pro design cool head upgraded carbs k and ns with outerwears direct to carbs ricky stator stator/timing plate set at +4 what i would like is morepower/speed without sacrificing reliabilty, since i have had this bike its been 2 kicks and its alive, can i change domes in the cool head to increase compression and run race gas without having to retune? what would you guys reccomend?
  6. when referencing the gap do you mean .18 to .20 or .018 to .020?
  7. well we went out last weekend and my banshee ran great as it always does, went to start it up to pull it in the trailer, moved maybe 50 feet like normal and just shut off, i tested the two wires that go to the coil and im getting no power to them, where do i go from here?
  8. thanks for the welcome, ill have to measure the carbs tonight, ill also have to order up an oring just in case when i pull the head it needs new rings, also the reason for wanting the longer swinger is to keep it down when racing, i think this is going to be my hillshooter/occassional duner
  9. I used 3/8 clear tubing from lowes like a buck a foot
  10. finally got around to testing compression, its reading 135-140psi, what does this mean dome wise, also im getting different opinions on which side of the carb to measuer the engine side or air filter side, thanks for the help guys just wanna know whats done to this beast, also am interested in a +2 swingarm, whats all involved with this swap

Hey thanks for the replies, i think i do have an adjustable timing plate already ill have to look and see what its set at, is there anyway to tell what domes i have without pulling the head? also if i do remove the cool head will i need a new gasket? ill measure the carbs, is i a good chance they are stock? also i will measure compression if it will help, thanks again, id just like to know what i have so i know where i can/want to go and also if i ever have issues i know what to get i currently have a slightly modded ds650 and i thought it was buy holy crap im in love with the banshee

Hey guys NEWB here, name is Joey i just recently picked up a friend of mines non running 96 banshee, after a couple hours of trouble shooting i have it running again, he had thought it was the stator so he installed a brand new one, then after i bought it he said he was told it needed a coil so i ordered that to find it still didnt run, at which point my DMM was a life saver as we tested everything and found the switch in the throttle to be bad causing it to not run and voila it lives again. I have a couple questions for you guys as i come from 4 stroke world (i must say im addicted to the 2 stroke BOOST like feeling of the powerband) First this bike has some mods done to it and im not sure what kind of gains are had from them etc, the bike has Toomey T-5 pipes, Pro peformance Cool head, and i was told some aftermarket carbs (the one says suoco racing on it) with direct mount k and ns with pre filters also the engine has some type of engraving and im not sure what exactly is done to it the engraving says WMR on one side and willy mac racing on the other side, id imagine there isnt a ton done to it internally as he said hes just running 91 mixed, what can you guys tell me about this bike? good setup? estimated power? things like that second it only has foot pegs and i think id like to add some nerf/healguard/footpegs which would you guys reccomend?
