Birchwoodbanshee

Hi everyone I just traded an older pick up truck for an 87 banshee. I have been told the the motor been redone 3 years back and it has fatty pipes on it. It has been sitting for awhile outdoors it seems. I did get it to run for a bit and it seems to run ok. I need to pick up a new clutch cable before I can ride as the one on it is slightly froze. So my first question is were would you guys start because it is a bear to get running. Should I just tear down the carbs and clean them up? I just want to say thanks in advance and this will be my first 2 stroker so bare with me!!!
