  1. Yes it is brand new. I am about to head out now to go riding all day. I am going to get some pics while out. I will post them up later.
  2. Well I bought the YFZ. Rode it for a few hours today. I sm going out all day tomorrow. i LOVE IT so far
  3. Thats what I am spending my down payment on
  4. No shit I made up my mind. I posted that I am getting the YFZ a while back. I understand how the mod bug will bite and infect me though. I will eventually do shit to the bike. But I am not into rebuild a whole motor and replacing suspension parts. I may pick up a banshee down the road if I find one for a steal. Also I do not have $4000 cash to buy the bike. I am going to finance whatever I get to help build up my credit some. So buying from a personal seller is out of the question. Sicne I can not buy from a personal seller I can't go buy a used banshee for $2000 with a bunch of shit done to it from someone. Thanks for all the replies. Everyone helped out, it was nice to see a few non-biased answers considering this is a Banshee forum. If I asked a YFZ forum they would all say BUY the YFZ!!!
  5. haha it funny hearing my name in third person. I agree the motor has nothing to do with comfort. But now that I have sat on both the YFZ seems to fit me better. Comfort is a matter of opinion and will vary between everyone.
  6. Well like I said earlier I dont plan to or want to mod whatever I buy. I spend most of my excess cash in my truck. I got a chance to sit on both (but not ride) and the YFZ seems to fit me a lot better then the shee. I dont need a shit ton of power. I ride my brothers Z400 and it is fast enough for the trails I ride. The Shee jsut seems so dated when it comes to handling and even the looks. Sure it is fast as hell but I need something that can turn too. I will never be on sand dunes or too many wide open areas. (main reason I am going with the YFZ) I ride tight wooded trails.
  7. Yeah thats a great idea but I dont wanna buy something that I have to build. I just wanna hop on and go.
  8. Thanks for being honest. I am going with teh YFZ though.
  9. Well I appreciate everything that everyone posted. I am going to pick up the yfz tomorrow morning.
  10. thanks, that is basically how i look at it. I am going to pick it up this saturday. Leaving at 5a.m. to be there as soon as they open.
  11. Thanks man I appreciate all the info and opinions
  12. Thanks, makes me feel better about my decision. Its tough to pass on a banshee but tougher to pass on the 450
  13. Well I do not have $5000 cash on me so that's a no go. I am financing some (to help build up my credit) and paying cash for some of it. I just talked to the manager at teh dealer and he is pulling one of teh YFZs to the side for me so I can get it on saturday. After I buy mien they will only have 1 left at the low price. Like I said before I know the Shee ahs a shit ton of potential but I really dont wanna build up a bike. I just wanna hop on and go. Most of my money gets dumped into my truck.
  14. Thanks for the great post I do not plan to try and sell what I buy to turn a profit. Why would someone pay more then what I paid used when they can go to the same dealer as me and pay what I am paying? I am waiting on the manager to call me back as he is checking on some things for me. I got an exact number on the YFZ450 and he said its mine for $4830 with a full tank of gas and loaded in my truck lol. I think I am going to buy the 450. I love the Shee but as many said there are better deals out there and I really want something newer right now. The shee may cost $2000 less but is also 8 years older and does have as nice suspension.
  15. thats the price of a 2009 YFZ450r I would never pay 8 grand. MSRP is only $7200 on 08s and $7400 on 09s
  16. Its not double the money though. And I do not want to mod whatever I buy other then exhaust and filter. I am going to call the dealer in a bit to talk to the manager about both bikes
  17. Yeah I think I may go with the 450. I think its the better deal and the 450 will fit my needs more then teh banshee.
  18. replied thanks for the input guys
  19. What did you find uncomfortable about it? I am going to look at both side by side and see which I like more.
  20. yeah it seemed like a hell of a deal I have never been on either so its nice to get some opinions thanks haha I wouldnt call you crazy. I want all opinions.
  21. I dunno I might buy the 450. Its hard to pass up that price.
  22. UPDATE check my other thread please http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=110423
  23. out in west virginia at the same dealer the banshee is. I will post up more info after I buy my bike. I dont want people running up buying the last few 08s he has now
  24. Well I made a post about me buying a 2000 Banshee but now I have a second option. Here is what I am looking at. First is the Shee. Its a 2000 in mint condition with FMF pipes and is stock otherwise. Price will be $2900 out the door from a dealer. Second option is a NEW 2008 YFZ 450. The manager said I can have it for $4800 out the door. To me this seems like an INSANE deal. I can get this one or a blue one. What I will use the bike for... I will be mostly riding trails and some wide open fields. The trails is why I am thinking about the YFZ. This will also be my first quad. I have been riding atvs and dirtbikes my whole life but this will be the first ATV that I will own and have to maintain. I have also never worked on any two stroke engine. Benefits of buying the newer bike is the fact that its NEW. I don't wanna end up buying someone else's problems. Plus I will get a warranty. Plus I hear that the YFZs suspension is superb. Benefits of teh banshee are the sheer upper end power and fun factor of teh 350 twin. I just want some opinions from the people who have ridden both and which is the better "Deal" I do not plan on modding either one. Maybe an exhaust on the YFZ. Thanks for any and all help.
