  1. I've had terrible luck with second gear. Any suggestions on a trail tranny?
  2. I am planning on a set of paul turner mid range, I really liked them on the last one. Can i get a trail machine to maintain running on alcohol otherwise I will probably go with twin 35PWK's like I had on the the last one. I was running 104 KLOTZ in it.

  4. Sold my Banshee last year, bought a Harley broke my leg sold the harley, looking to to builild another Banshee. I am starting with nothing but a good set of engine cases. I am starting from the ground up. I want to build a fast reliable trail machine that will beat the 450's. First of all I always had trouble with my old tranny, second of all stroke it or not? I would appreciate any and all input.
  5. Does anyone have any suggestions on stock vs aftermarket ignition coils?
  6. My old 87 cme with a set of fmf fattys and some kind of stock silencers. I replaced the silincencers with an old pair of powercores. I have a good line on a pair of toomy t-5s. Are these as good or better than my fmfs? If so do I need to jet any different for the toomys?

  8. Can someone give me an idea on where to start with a main jet? I have added a k&n with filter wear,4 degree timing, and a cool head with 20cc. I am planning to run no airbox lid. I have a trinity 2-1 33pwk, it had a 200 main before I put these mods on. I would appreciate any help, this has been a nightmare so far. I bought the whole machine for $125 and should have just parted it out , but I am too far in to give up now. It just got bored to 66mm and got the hot rods crank. I have been stupid on this site before, but I hope you will overlook this. Thanks, smiley88

  12. I just bought a pro design cool head with 20cc dome off of ebay. I have been searching topics for installation help, but have not found any. I bought the longer studs to bolt this head on. Can I use stock nuts or do I need different one with brass washers? Also, do I use a head gasket or just the o-rings?

  15. I bought an old 87 and am piecing it together. It is a unit I bought it for $125. It needed a new tranny and frame. Anyways I bought a hot rods stock stroke crank. It was at 65.5 bore and needed to be bored to 66. I am going to advance it 4 degrees and bought a prodesign with 18's. It has v-force reeds and a 33mm trinity 2-1. I have a case of klotz benol, does anyone have any idea what main jet to start with and has anyone ran strait castor oil with any success? Also what octane should I run? I have some Klotz race fuel I can blend with 92 to make 110, is that too much?
  16. I pulled the side cover to find metal shavings and chipped gears. I have another good tranny, does anyone have any suggestions on a good clutch basket with the drive gear?
  17. I premixed at 24:1 as yamaha recommended using amsoil interceptor. From what I have been reading this is way off. What should I be mixing it at.
  18. They say to use a rosebud on a torch to heat it in a figure 8. It will turn blue, then green, then orange. Then drop it flat into a bucket of water. Scratch pad it, then coat it with copper coat, wait ten minutes, assemble and torque it. Wait 24 hrs warm up the engine, let it cool, and then re-torque.
  19. I bought an 87 banshee that has been severely abused. Once I sorted through the rats nest of wiring and got spark, it starts within 1-2 kicks. When I took it for a spin, first gear worked great, second wouldn't engage, it was like third was not there at all, but fourth engaged fine, I didn't go any farther than that. Is the problem in the external, such as the shift star or the shift shaft or is it internal in the forks and gears? I do not really want to tear it completely down if I do not have too.
  20. I bought a copper head gasket, not realizing that it needed to be annealed. Has anyone used a copper head gasket and is it worth the trouble of preparing it?
