  1. Like it says I just posted some videos of my 421 cub I have recently finished building. Two vids of it first starting and two vids of me racing a Subaru STI. The videos are on Youtube. Search Drag Banshee and One video should be on the first page. Then you can see the rest of mine through that. Let me know what you think. Good or Bad.

Love your shee, who did your engine, and does it run on pump or race fuel?

    thanks.

  2. your choice on your banshee should be good..... it all about how much money you want to spend... LOL

on my 501... i got rid of alot off it.. no more nerfs or heal gaurds.. got rid of the e-start.. no fan.. gutted the wire harness.. custom sub frame.. new pipe.. 22-12-8 12 paddle super light gliders... + 6 swing arm... going thru the motor and see if i can find a few more ponies in it... new piston.. new valves.. re cut the seats.. maybe shave .020 off the head.. put hot start on... maybe ditch the front brakes.. no rear fenders... new paint... should be nice looking....

ya if i can get the day off i would like to be out there opening day... i am sure i will be out there to run on crapo before that to get it dialed in agin tho... i am sure we will get to ride together more this summer..

Wow, sounds like you are moving more towards racing up the hill. What color are you going? should be much lighter then before. I am excited to see your bike run, let me know when you are going to crapo's, would like to tag along if its ok.

  3. ya .. this is corey.... i am putting a stroker crank in it... and a bunch of other things... it is what he wanted for christmas... only about 1,200.00 worth of parts... then all my time doing it.. ... i have my orange yfz 501 stripped down to the frame to.. it is getting a big make over to.. and it is not even a year old..

hope to see you out there this summer.... i can't wait to ride agin.

i have bought some domes from Herr racing.... thanks everyone....

Corey, you have peaked my curiosity, I bought a banshee in December with the intent of building for spring. I would be very interested to hear what you are going to do to it. I am thinking 4 mil dune port by Herr or FAST. What could you be doing to your 450? It was already one of the fastest i have seen out there. We only have 2 more months, we should hook up on opening day. I cant wait!!

  4. i am looking for some 4 mill long rod cool head domes... 18cc - 17 cc.... either will work for us we are at 5,000 feet .... new or used ... just thought i would see here before i order some

you can e-mail me to... this is for my boys banshee.. so i am not on this site alot.. i have a 501 yfz

Is this millertime from Rigby? I rode with you and your son this summer, you had some friends down from nothern Id as well. I was on my blue Raptor cause my YFZ had just cracked the cyclinder. What did you do to your boys bike, it was already pretty quick?

  5. I got my bike out for the first time in a month or so the day before yesterday and yesterday during our snow storm. Since the last time I'd rode it I've put a Noss Head with 19cc domes and V force 3 reeds in it. The last time that I rode it the bike was running great and my jetting was spot on. When I put the reeds in I moved the needle clip one notch toward the blunt end, just like I've always done when installing these reeds. When I put the head on I also installed some new plugs.

Now the issue, I fired my bike up, let it warm up for a little bit and took off. As soon as I took off it would bog and die. Eventually I got it to take off but it still wasn't right. I got to messing around with it and noticed that the plug caps seemed to be a little loose on the plug wires. So I tightened them up and clip them back on to the plug. My bike is a 2004 with stock plugs and caps. How often do these need replaced? ( When I get the time today, I'm going to order a new set since they are so cheap.) So after I got the plug caps tight it didn't die anymore however I still have ZERO low end and I pretty much have to rev it up and dump the clutch or it wants to bog down really bad. It's never done this before so I have no idea where to start. Surely by only moving my needle clip one notch wouldn't cause this. I'm beginning to wonder if the gas is too low of octane and not burning fast enough. When I swapped the head I still had the 93 octane in it and with the 19cc domes I probably will need to run race gas. I had a full tank of 93 and I am planning to burn through it and start running race gas, I just didn't want to throw away a full tank of gas to go to race gas. So what are some symptoms of too low of octane fuel? I know you'll get pinging but can it actually cause low end power loss too? What do you guys think?

If you raised the clip you made the bike leaner, in addition to that, the outside temp is lower, which means the air is denser (more air). More air will cause your bike to run lean if it was already on the edge. The symptons you stated sound like a lean condition as well. Move the clip the other way, you might need to go up one on the main as well.

  6. NOPE.. call kevin at herr juggs racing.. he has a 4mill stroker package that inlcudeds porting boring, crank and all.. he will even assemble the motor if you ship it to him... i think its around1300 or 1400.. that will satisfy that hunger for now.

I hear a lot about Kevin at HJR, I have checked out his website and like what i see so far, He is on my list for work. K&T performance out of Roy Utah is another builder i am considering, have you or anyone else ever heard of them?

  7. Alright I just bought another 'shee yesterday. It's a 2001 and all stock except for works shocks up front, and I think a rebuilt 400ex shock in the back but I'm unsure exactly what it is. It only has about 10hrs or less on a new top end so i want to leave that alone for now at least. I ride in a lot of fields, open trails, and drag. Also plan on duning some this summer at Silver Lake. My last Banshee was a '97 with just pipes so this time I am planning on building it considerably beefier.

Bottom Line: I want to put around $1000-$1500 into motor/"go" mods. What should I do to get the most bang for my buck. I want reliability, strength, and to be able to blow my buddies 450r away with no effort. Also want to run it on ~93 octane.

I am in the same boat, only my shee will only be ridden at St. Anthony sand dunes in idaho. I cant decide between a 4mil cheetah cub, or a 4 mil with stock cylinders that are ported by a builder. I already have T5's and Vforce3, not sure if the cubs wont reach their full potential due to T5's and stock carbs. Would it like to be a dune and hillshoot bike. Need to run 91 octane.

  8. Yes, a 7mm will work but must be done carefully and correctly. We will not do a 10mm crank on stock cylinders any more because they just suck compared to the cub motors from lack of transfer volume/flow. ie, you can't feed it very well. They also suffer big time from port timing being way out of the bubble for optimal performance. In our opinion, the 7mm is the largest sensible crank for the stock cylinders.

Hi, new to this forum, are you a builder? I am making a list of builders to choose from.

    thanks
