So I just completed installing a carb kit on my 2001 banshee. We bought it new and have performed no mods on it except for the K&N with outerwears and no lid (recently installed).
The reason I installed the carb kit was to hope for "no bog" (and because it was due for one lol). Lately it has been bogging, mostly after installing the K&N. And usually the bog comes around low throttle during initial acceleration(about 1/4 throttle). I read the sticky on jetting, but I thought I would ask you guys.
Anyway, after the carb kit install, the quad ran EXACTLY the same. I kept the same jet size and everything. I live in Mesa, AZ at about 1200 ft I believe. My brother helped me with the install (since he knows more about carbs than I do), and said I should adjust the air screw to get rid of the bog. He adjusted the carbs half turn at a time until the bog was gone (again at 1/4 throttle or so, letting the clutch out). The air screw now rests 1/2 turn from being flush, but the quad seems to run good up and down our street with no bog.
The reason I'm posting this is because we are leaving for Gordons Well at 5pm, and I just want to be sure it will run good out there. (first time at the dunes). What do you guys think?
BTW:
Ive been running Yamalube since she was a baby and have always kept it at the factory 24:1 ratio (thinking of possibly going 32:1).
