they came off a 97 i got it in august, the piston rings started to go, so i pulled it apart, i can include pistons if you want, i really dont know enough about these things to tell you what the dings in the head came from, but the inside of the cylinders are super smoothe, the high bid right now is 135 shipped so if you can beat it, let me know

got a pair of stock cylinders and stock head, the head has some dings in the top, make me an offer ill put up some pics later my computer is being really aggrivating

will these work on a stock crank and stock head? what else would i need, my bike has stock carbs, pods and trinity pipes

do you think that top end would work with stock carbs, stock crank, pods and trinity pipes? stock everything else? could i bolt it on and go? i would have to rejet right?

ha my bad I must have been high when I wrote that. I meant I need some ported xylinders with matching pistons, man I'm dumb. and how much for those cylinders you got?

im about to send off my cylinders and idk who to send them to? who is the best, ive heard alot of good things from hjr, but i dont know much about the other guys, any ideas?

i need some ported jugs, and cylinders, everything in my motor is stock my top end finally went and i didnt wanna blow like 650 to get them ported and everything, thanks guys

dremel, a couple different grits of sandpaper, and a blow torch, and maybe some spray paint just be smoooooooothe or it will look like shit

If you tear it down and do all that porting and stuff you should get your crank true and welded. Always replace stuff up the to point that you have taken it apart, like if you do the top end then replace all gaskets and seals in the top end. the dune port will be better for your drag racing but your mx port will be better for most of your riding since you do mostly trails and track, Kevin should be able to tell you what is best if you tell him what your doing. The case porting and piston cutting is just a way to match your internals a little better, and squeeze a little more power, I wouldn't really worry about it for and MX and trail bike
thats what kevin said but im not really a mechanic ha at all so id have to send him my entire motor, which with labor and him tearing everything apart would be a little out of my budget he said i didnt need to do it, and it was an insurance policy ha to make sure it didnt break, but how necessary is it do you think? it makes your crankshaft alot stronger right? and could i do it myself im just scared to pull this ish apart

i wonder if hjr has like power curves for each port job he could show me or something, and what does piston cutting and port casing do?

The difference between the Dune and MX port is where the power is going to peak at in the RPM range.
The dune is more of a top end power port,the mx is lower in the rpm range. the mx port will have more grunt. the dune will probably have more peak horespower,but it will be high rpm power.
As for your crank seal,i would be sure its leaking before i did a complete teardown,thats a lot of work.There are ways to check that do a leak test.
If antifreaze is getting into your combustion chamber,its probably the head gasket
sweet and if its not leaking tooo bad shoudl i leave it alone also, and when i get the new top end in they will put a new head gasket in right?

ok so i called hjr and gbot the prices and everything i guess what im trying to decide now, is what port job to get, im thinking dune/play port or the mx hardcore port, any suggestions? i ride trails the track and occasional drag, but not much, but when i do drag i do not wanna lose, what would put out more power, dune/play or mx hardcore? do they have the same power and the power band is different or does one put out alot more power? and the piston cutting and port casing what is that? and does it produce more power? im clueless guys just some opinions if yall dont mind, yall havent steered me wrong yet!
also i saw dude below me was talking about his crank seal leaking, i think mine is leaking too, when i do the port job and new top end i should prob change that as well while everything is torn down. also i think i might have some antifreeze leaking into my motor like i think the exhaust smells kinda maple syrupy ha, could it be leaking like into the pistons? thanks again yall

yeah man just follow teh instructions and make sure you tap those idle screw holes right, ha you only get one chance so take your time

so i could send them my whole motor and they would rebuild the top end for 300 plus shipping? and that includes parts? thats a good deal, so to get it ported as well would prob be about another 250 or 300 also? or cheaper ha please say cheaper

the real power comes from porting.send those jugs to HJR and then you'll be happy.If you didnt screw up the jugs,then theres no need to bore,just hone.
how much am i looking at to get them ported, and could they rebuild my top end there as well, like could i send them my whole motor? that would be an ass of money though, ha ill just stick with the porting how much do you think that would run me

so its new top end time, any ideas on what I should use? should I bore it out? I don't really know where to start, I'm kind of on a budget but I want more power if possible. it will have trinity pipes, k and n filter with lid off, 320 mains 4th clip and 25 pilot but ill rejet if needed thanks for the suggestions

ha ok so it worked for about 30 mins, there wasnt much dirt in the carburetor, but i cleaned the side that was running lean, so i go to run it down the street, and when the powerband kicks in its really really really lean like just flies through the top end. maybe my float is stuck closed so not enough gas can get in? ha im about to just buy new carbs : (. i cleaned the carb completely totally took everything apart, and it cranked up perfect, smoked right on both sides, i rode for 30 mins and it started running lean, maybe i got dirt in my gas tank or something, but the fuel lines flow perfect? its gotta be in the carbs, and they are jetted perfect too is whats making me crazy. ha sorry i keep asking so much guys im just ready to fucking ride thanks again

ok I have spark I put new plugs in and it fired right up but that one side is still running lean? should I clean my carbs now? and check the reed on that side the cylinder seems to be running fine just lean so I'm getting less gas in that one side maybe I got shit in my carb?
