Are you talking about stock blaster shocks on your banshee making it 2" lower? Because these works shocks on ebay are 14.5" and the guy says they are taken off a blaster. The length of the shock would be fine for my quad but I just wanted to make sure that the mechanics of the shock would not be different if it was setup for a blaster. Just wanted to make sure before I attempted to buy it because it seems to be a good deal and there is only 11 hours left in the auction. Thanks

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WORKS-FRONT...sQ5fAccessories They say they are off a 2001 Blaster but I measured my stock shocks off my 2001 Banshee and they were in the range of 14 or 14.25. They say these are 14.5, would they work on my bike? Thanks, Mike

Yeah so for all the bearing kits besides the ones for the wheels its around $350. Is it worth it to pay the money and spend the time to do wheel bearings? How difficult and how long does it take to do the wheel bearings on these? Thanks, Mike
-
Yeah. So I'm looking through what they sell for my quad and it looks like I'll be buying one of each kit except for the front and back wheel ones. Do you guys think I should replace the ones for the wheels while the quad is apart? Would it be beneficial enough for me to spend the extra time and money? Thanks guys

Wow...I feel like a retard. I see that the one A-Arm kit is for upper and the other is for lower. :wallbash: But yeah if you could please explain to me which I need to get for the swingarm with shock. Thanks, lol
-
Yeah I put in my quad in the search parameters but which one do i exactly need? There a two different ones for A-Arms and I see the one for the Swingarm but as for where the shock connects to the swingarm, do I get the one for the rear shock that they sell? Because from what I read it sounded like the things they give you for the rear shock are to completely rebuild the shock. Or is that what its called when you just replace all the bearings? Sorry I really just dont know what I'm looking at or looking for and I wanna make sure I get the right things and for the best value I can. Thanks a lot guys

So i completly tore down my whole quad and now its time to put it back together. Is there a kit I could buy that gives me all the bearings? Like it includes the swingarm bearings and a-arm bearings. Or if not, where do you suggest I buy all the bearings and what exactly should I be looking for? 2001 Banshee stock a-arms and swingarm Thanks, Mike

Yeah but I'm looking for some aftermarket ones like Works or Elka or Ohlin, something like that. Anyone have some?

Yeah mostly woods and like the coal hills in PA and stuff like that. Idk I really need a pair of shocks because I wanna get out riding again. So please anyone who has some post here

I measured the stock shocks that I have on there already and they are around 14 or 14.5. So i dont know how 13.5 shocks would work on there. PM me some more info like weight they are set up for and send me some pics. Thanks, Mike
-
Yeah so madball, do you still have those shocks? Please send info Anyone else who has shocks put a post up on here as well!

Can you send me some pics and info. Like rider weight and things like that?

I'm looking to buy a pair of aftermarket front shocks for my 2001 Shee. I just have stock A-Arms so no YFZ's for me. I'm looking for anything, like Works, Elka, throw whatever you have at me. Frame, Arms, Swingarm, is getting painted now and will be done at end of week and I really wanna get this thing put back together so I can ride it asap. Please let me know about any shocks being sold. Thanks, Mike

The Banshee is 8 years old now and has been beat on with a lot of riding, time to take it apart, clean it all, paint it up, and add in a thing or two. Its all apart now basically down to the frame. What things need to be replaced on it? Im trying to make a list of all the things I need to buy that need to be bought to put on it before it goes back together again so I can make one big order for it all. Also any suggestions on what one wouldnt normally think to clean. Im not doing anything with the engine just cleaning it all and painting a few things, make it look a little nicer. Wanted to see if anyone has some sort of a list of what needs to be replaced, like bearings, cotter pins, that sort of thing. If you could, quantities of each would be nice for when I order it all. Thanks, Mike

Questions About Compression, Domes, and Head
MJohnson3764 replied to MJohnson3764's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Hey Banshee. Do you use premium gas in your quad after those mods or did you have to step it up to higher octane? And what are the standard steps for octane levels? Is it 93 prem, then 104, then 110? What do you guys think I would have to use in terms of octane level with those mods im talking about getting? -
Questions About Compression, Domes, and Head
MJohnson3764 posted a topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Im looking to do a few things to my Banshee over the winter and I've been researching and asking around and I think im closing in on what I want to do to it. I was looking at get a timing plate and setting it to +4 for more low end power. I've been hearing that setting the timing plate can cause you to have to change the octane of fuel that you use. Can anyone explain to me what octane it might require with these addons? I'm looking at getting vForce reeds, I dont think that will really affect fuel type right? And I'm also looking at getting a Noss Cool Head and as for the domes thats where most of my questions are. Jeff from FAST Toys suggested a 20 or 21 cc dome. I looked my elevation and it is just about 300ft above sea level. With the timing plate and head and dome, what octane of fuel would I need to run at? And can anyone explain to me what exactly the domes do and what the different sized domes do. Like what would be the difference between at 18cc dome and a 21cc dome? So the basic rundown is -Timing Plate +4 -VForce Reeds -Noss Cool Head -Looking at possibly 20-21cc domes 300ft elevation Thanks guys -
Yeah I have Holeshot HD's on it and I was talking to some guys I went riding with the other day and I was thinking that I will probably get reeds and a timing plate because those are some easy things to do to it that can increase performance without possibly affecting the reliably of the engine. It is very reliable now and I would like it to stay that way. I just wanted to ask about the Noss Head. Is it easy to swap out? Like would I be able to do it in my garage without having to send it to a shop? And could it possibly affect how the engine works, by means of how reliable it is. And what effects will the Noss Head give? And as for the timing plate, what exactly does it do and how easy of a swap is that? I'm assuming that the different numbers are to increase low end (while decreasing top end) or vice versa. Thanks again.

Oh also, I dont only do woods riding. I often go out to PA around Trevorton, Shamokin, Tower City, and Paragon in that area, and there is a lot of open area around there, so the mods I'm looking for aren't strictly for woods riding because a lot of the riding I do isnt just in the woods. I'm not looking for a drag bike, just something that will perform decently in the woods and be fast when it needs to be. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Yeah I was looking at timing plates, reeds, and things like that. What exactly does the timing plate do, and how easy/difficult is it to put in a new one and what effects can i have on my quad. I have somewhat of an understanding of what reeds are for, and do, but I'm not positive and what effect will they have on performance. The Noss head, what will that do for me? One of you guys was saying it would keep it cooler, what other things will it do to performance? And you also said a carb setup. I'm almost positive I still have the stock carb setup, but I'm not totally sure because I bought this from my brother a few months ago and I;m not sure if he did anything with the carb. I also looked at porting from F.A.S.T. and I sent an email to them and he suggested doing timing plate, reeds, and head and all that before I go to porting it. I'm just looking to see how much each thing will cost me and whether it's something that takes more skill to swap out, or if its a easy replacement, or if the quad/engine would need to be sent out. Thanks for your help guys.
