So it turns out I need a new Top End. Its gonna require a new bore size, currently its stock 64mm Bore. Any recommendations on where to get this bore job done and to what size I should have it bored over? Their is an outfit online that claims to bore your cylinders to the next workable size and send you the complete top end kit after you have sent them the jugs for $299. Is this a good deal or should I shop around and where? any input would be appreciated.

So I was out riding the other day with a buddy, we were probably out for about 5 hrs. Testing out the banshee after installing new clutch and top end gaskets. We were out riding the dunes pretty hard and my banshee was overheating, one of my mistakes was filling up the radiator and reservoir with antifreeze and not cycling it in thru the engine. Because when I got back home I checked the antifreeze level in the radiator and it was practically half to three quarters empty. Anyways while we were out riding trying to ride out of a sand bowl my banshee bogged down and quite on me, it just stalled! Tried new plugs out in the field and nothing, tried push starting and nothing. I got home and checked to see if I was getting a spark and it was, I cleaned out the carbs and still nothing, sometimes it backfires. I topped of the radiator and kicked it over a couple of times, and I notice antifreeze leaking thru the nuts that hold the heads down. It turned out that the nuts had loosened up, so I re tighten and and attempt to start and no more leak but still doesn't start. Any Ideas, I've checked for Spark, Fuel, Air and nothing will start her up.

This is great info guys. I beleive the jetting is all stock, I will figure out where all this jets are and will double check them, I thought I would wait and get the K&N air filter before getting different jets but I guess now I will change these as soon as I find them. I dont how ever see any 2 1/2" hose that connects both carbs. I will have to look into that as well. You guys are awsome!

as far as the spark goes, I know that I am getting a spark because I have one of those deals that you plug in between your spark plug and the plug wire which illuminates a little bulb to indicate that you have a spark. Like I said as soon as a flip the slide the wrong way it will start on the first or second kick but when I try to feather the throttle to warm it up it bogs down on me and dies. I kicked it over again and will start pretty fast. I then install the slides the correct way and will start for a couple of seconds, I assume only long enough the burn the fuel in the carbs and will then die and wont start for anything. I have the pilot air screw on the side of the carbs out 2 turns like the manual says, and the idle screws out 2 turns as well but I cant keep it running long enough the warm the engine up to adjust the idle screws on the TORS to the correct settings. How many turns is generaly enough for the idle screws on the TORS and the pilot air screws?

It is very cold out here typicaly in the teens, 13 to 19 degrees out this time of the year, I did reset all the idle screws and and the air screw to the factory settings that the manual says. Maybe I shouldnt of done that, The carbs were cleaned pretty good, not the speaker wire thing but I did remove all the gunk that had accumulated over the years of just sitting their.

Can anyone out there help me, I am confused. I am new into banshees. I have a 97' Banshee with the only mod being T3 pipes with T5 stingers. I still have the stock airbox with stock filter, I plan on getting the K&N filter down the road when I get some $$ The issue I am having is that when I accidently installed the slides into my stock carbs the wrong way (The tapperd end towards the engine so that you cant see the dot thru the little glass window) my banshee will generally start on the first or second kick. But when I try to install the slides the correct way as the manual indicates (Tappered end towards the air filter and the dot being visible thru the glass window) my banshee will not start at all. Can anybody make any sence of this. I have not changed my jets yet, I asume they are stock jets. The quad used to run with stock pipes before when my uncle owned it, but was left out side covered with a tarp for about 5 years. It used to be his wifes quad until the clutch basket springs all that shattered and locked up on him. He told me that if I could get it up and running again that he would let me have it since he has his own already.
