  1. That is what I was figuring will pull the head of and see if it scared the cylinders. Checked compression and they both have 120psi even so that should be a good sign. Any recommendations as far as getting it lubricated again to get it going again. Starting to wonder about this oil as well for we use it in the weedeaters as well and two of them have seized but was able to get them going again after dumping oil in the cylinders and turning them back & forth until they turned over freely. If this isn't the problem what other things should I look for? Would the water pump impeller cause somthing like this?
  2. This thing is really making me feel stupid but here we go. Just rebuilt the topend and rode it about three times now so it has about 10 hours of ride time on it. Last time riding it it had a leak out the front of the case which thought was tranny oil but later found out the carb started leaking out the overflow. Believe what I actually seen leaking was really gas oil mix dumping into the crankcase. Well rebuilt the carbs today and after riding for 5 minutes the top end started making a screeching sound like it is dry (no oil). Currently running Caster 927 at 50.1 and starting to wonder if this oil is separating but I live in Florida and hasen't really been that cold here yet. Have maintained several 2 strokes before and never had the kind of issues I am having with this thing and it really is making me feel stupid. Anyway any help you can give me feel it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks In Advance!
  3. Now that you got me thinking you are right the tranny oil isn't even suppose to be in the front of the engine. Will need to dump the oil and see if there is gas or water is in it allowing to seep through the crankcase halfes since it would thin it out. Still know it was gear oil on the exhaust because you can smell it and man was it smoking bad because it was blowing right on the pipes. Then after refilling it and riding for about 15 minutes normally it never did it again. Might be a simple problem like carb problem (I Hope).
  4. It is definetly the base gasket because I seen the oil coming out and when I first checked the oil it was basically empty. The other reason is when it burns on the exhaust you can definetly tell what type of oil it is (Not two stroke). This was my concern if I have a bigger problem than just a gasket. Just put a new rod kit in this thing about 8 months ago so always worry when something like this happens especially how picky some two strokes can be.
  5. Couldn't remember if the tranny stays in the bottom of the case or the top half. Been awhile since I split the case but just read the manual and I remember now. This really stinks to tear it down for a oil leak but appears have no Other choice. Would you reuse the piston rings since they only have about 3 rides on them?
  6. I have a interesting delima with what appears to be a base gasket leak up front. When running hard it pours oil out up front onto the exhuast. Question is this a sympton of something other than a simple gasket leak or something more (Blown head gasket or Overheating). Then if it is the base gasket can I replace it with out pulling the entire engine down?
