  1. Thanks guys! I made triple sure the slides were in right and I used a rebuild kit on both carbs, so everything is new. The floats were fine and I reused the same jets since it jetted right before the problems. I added the idle screw kit and am thinking that I screwed them in too far? I thought I disconnected all of the TORS wiring. I unplugged the connector to the main TORS unit bolted to the frame, pitched the 2 TORS carb tops, and the only thing left it the plug going to the thumb throttle. I tried to start it with it unplugged and couldn't get it started and then got it running (poorly) once I plugged it back in. Who ever the yahoo that thought up that mess deserves a kick in the ding-ding! I hate to take it to the stealership and pay their monkeys $65 an hour to do something I might be able to fix. Any other thoughts? Thanks!
  2. OK, so I had a problem with the TORS and one of the carbs not working. I rebuilt both carbs with a rebuild kit from Jets-R-Us and installed a TORS eliminator kit. I got the carbs dialed in and when we tried to get the Banshee running, it ran terrible. Blue smoke out of one then eventually both of the pipes. Sputtering and finally gas started dripping out of the right exhaust port. You could tell it was gas as it was tinted with the premix. There was black granular deposits mixed with the gas that looked like the kind of ground up rubber from a tire doing a burnout on pavement. I know it wasn't rubber, but probably carbon deposits/buildup from the engine or exhuast. Anybody have any ideas on what is wrong and where to start? Am I hosed? Thanks!
  3. Yanking the leaking, TORs BS covered, un-synched, 26mm factory carbs. These things leak more gas than they put into the engine. Also, since my last run to the dunes, something broke in the right one causing our Banshee to sit it out and my son to be bummed out the whole weekend. I want a super simple, easy to jet and deal with carb set-up. I saw on ebay a 2-into-1 carb block that allows you to run a bigger single carb unit. From what I've learned, you run a Blaster throttle cable and it is almost idiot proof. So... anybody have any experience with these? Is there a good dealer anybody knows of? Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the responses guys! Any leads on where to purchase those carbs new? Tia!
  5. Traded a Jeep for a 2003 Banshee for my son. It is pretty tricked out and ran like a raped ape for most of the summer. We live in Southern Colorado at 7100 feet. Low end was a bit hesitant, but from what I've read is a natural trait of the Banshees. Took it to the dunes north of Moab a few weeks ago and it ran crappy. Felt like something broke in the throttle/cable. We opened up the thumb throttle housing, but found nothing. When we did get it to run, throttle was either almost full on or near idle and we have to blip it to keep it running because at idle it would die. Blueish smoke out of one pipe, very hesitant. It was like the two carbs were not in sync with each other anymore. The area is very dry and at about 4500 feet, so I imagine that had something to do with it. When we got it back home, it still ran crappy the same way it did in Moab. Any thoughts? I was thinking about the TORS removal kit and some new jets or would I be better off with a new (or used ebay) set of carbs? Really want to keep this Banshee alive and don't want to take it to the local dealer and pay through the nose for something I'm willing to do myself. Thanks!
