Ok, I will try. For the moment, do you think I'm rich or lean on the main? What size would you suggest? Thanks
-
Notched it up to 148 psi at +4 timing. I have read that on racing gas it is not possible to do plug checks, so I haven't. Looking at importing CPI IF as soon as I have funds available. For now I will have to run DMC 916s Jr, thanks for the info thus far.

Maybe you guys can help me. Running a STD stroke cub (Cleanup port) at Sea level +-80F, PWK 33s, Pods, 32:1 mix (105), DMC 916's and boyesen reeds. I have 50 pilots in them and 158 mains. Still very sluggish up top. I know that my pilots should be around 48, but what will my mains be? Where should such a cub rev to on a free rev? I only hit 9500 rpm.

It has to do with selecting up and down. If either is out, you will have trouble selecting.

I Can tell you 2strokespirit does good work. I had my barrels ported by him and it flat out rips! -
Sorry for the question. What jets are you running in you carbs? What temps and altitude? Reason for asking is that I have the same setup as you and I am battling to jet. Your help will be appreciated.

Would you suggest a 158 or 155?
-
Sorry. 70-85f BTM is sputtering a bit. Usual for a cub, but top power is poor. Mid is just fine.

Hi, Ive been searching on the forum for jetting of a STD stroke CUB 65mm with no success. I am really battling jet the 33mm carbs, and the closest I have come to correct is 160 mains, 52 pilots, cel on center, 1.5 turns. Please if you guys can help me on this one. I have the following: 65mm STD stroke CUB with cleanup, 33mm PWK carbs, Boyesen dual stage reeds, 6" K&N Pods, DMC 916 pipes and I am at sea level. Running gas at 32:1 on belray. Temps from 20-30C Thanks guys

Thanks for all the help guys. I have orderd 33mm PWK carbs. I will use this motor for a very powerfull all round motor. Will be building a proper trail motor a bit later. Please if you guys can help with jetting. Will have the following: FMF gold + pc2, Single KandN in box with outerware and addaptor boots, +4 timing, temp 20 - 35 C, 32:1 Belray, STD stroke cub, 33mm PWK carbs. Thanks again.

Hi JJ. Yes, I live in Amanzimtoti. The cub is still on its way. Paid $175 for shipping. Because I am importing on my own and not through a company, importing less than R20000 a year, there is no duty. There is however 14% vat. Whole import with cubs, pistons, porting and gaskets will cost just under R16000 inclusive of VAT. Hi Snop. Thanks for the help. So seeing that I have FMF gold series with pc 2 silencers, it would be wise to go for 33mm carbs. 21cc domes (just to stay on pump gas). I already have timing at +4. Dual stage reeds. Does that sound about right. Thanks for all the input guys. Really appreciate it.

Yea he charged me for a trail port. No mention of re-sleeve though. Took my quad for a drive today and have fair low down torque but the band only hits at about 5000-5500 rpm with what I have done to it (std Barrels). Saw on RDZ website that the cub make plain power to about 5500 rpm. Bogs down to 6000rpm and then wakes up. Would adding 33mm carbs smoothen out the bog, maybe pickup the hp a little on the bottom? If it is not possible to change those characteristics low down (Working against science), then I can just as well go for the 35mm carbs. Changing the reeds to boysen dual stage is a must. Thanks for all your help guys

It's not like I'm against drags, it's just not what I wanted. Will 33's work on the setup, or will 28 work better? Thats for a little more low down? Or shoud I just stick with 35's?
-
Thats great. Now I have a drag Banshee!!! I surpose that is what happens if you trust someone. Ok well, lets make the best of it. Is it possible that I can add more low and mid power?
-
I have FMF Gold series with pc2 silencers. What is wrong with v-force 3 reeds? I know that you lose power low down with larger carbs, that is why I am asking your opinions. Please check the link below to see that cubs come unported. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...sspagenameZWD1V

Hi Guys Would just like to know if the 34PJ or 35PWK will be better for the following setup: 65mm Moderate/aggressive trail port Cheetah cub STD stroke (RDZ Racing), v-force 3 reeds, +4 timing, STD airbox with no lid and Pro Design dual stage filter (this will be with aftermarket adaptor boots to fit 33-35mm carbs to the box). Pro design head with 21-22cc domes (depending), 32:1 belray on pump gas. Temp here ranges from 70-90 F. Used mostly for trail raiding. O and at sea level. Also if you guys can tell me the jetting needed for these carbs. Thanks guys for all your help.
