  1. Yea it looks like 2-stroke oil, the crank oil is clean as day, so I can't imagine it's that, idk much about 2-strokes, but the 4-strokes the crankcase oil gets black and smells like gas if there is a leak somewhere.
  2. ok, so my 'shee started acting up on my last trip, it would work fine, but sometimes it would bog like hell. Anyway, I bring it home, I check the plugs, the right side and left side both seem fine, that brownish color, but the right side is shooting out oil from the exhaust, while the left isn't, I'm new to 2-strokes, I know they smoke, but that's about it , is it supposed to be shooting out oil? Also, it smells like gas, like, a lot of it, it's never smelled like it so much, I am using Yamalube at a 40:1 ratio, and the b8es plugs. It's a completely stock 1987 banshee.
  3. Yea I was in central florida, it was only about 50-60 degrees, but it was humid as hell. Thanks for the help.
  4. So I went out to arcadia to ride my bikes this weekend, I gotta say, the banshee was running great, but then all of a sudden, the right carb started to "freeze" it actually got insanely cold and from the looks of it, just wouldn't work. if I let it sit for a while, it would be fine after the carb warmed up, but then it would just freeze and start bogging after a while. If anyone knows what could cause this, please let me know, I was running 40:1 Yamalube on 93 octane, it's a 87 completely stock 'shee.
  5. So, someone came to look at it to buy it, I knew he was just trying to give me bull, he says the bike isn't supposed to smoke, I don't know what 2-strokes he's been using, but ever since I was a kid, 2-strokes made that ding ding noise, and they smoked lol, anyway, as of today, my dad doesn't wanna sell it, it's a fun bike, and we'll just have to put away a few dollars for gas everytime we go .
  6. Alright, so I bought a banshee a while back, and I'm not too keen on two strokes, my four strokes are easy to mess with, anyway, this ones an 87, it was sitting for about 15 years in a warehouse, so it's in great condition, I checked out the carbs, bought a new throttle cable(it had rusted) and a new coil, and well, it started right up. What I want to know is, why it wastes so much damn gas, as far as I can tell it's completely stock, has 120 compression on both cylinders, but a tank of gas will only last me maybe 1-2 hours of trail riding. I was wondering if a 2:1 carb kit would help, but I can't seem to find anything that's not so damn expensive, and I would like to keep using the stock carbs, since they're like new. I was using 32:1 ratio on 93 octane, as someone had suggested(not sure if it was here or on 3WW) was using Havoline 2 stroke oil, it did smoke insanely, so not sure if maybe it was running with too much fuel? Anyway, any help would be appreciated, thanks. Oh, and the bike is as stock as I can figure, has original pipes, carbs, you name it.
  7. Seems I can't edit the post, heres a picture of the bike.
  8. Hey everyone I have a 1987 banshee, I picked it up after it sat in a warehouse for ~15 years, the owner didn't use it much, and when I got it it still had the original tires and lights, I fixed it up, it runs great, has ~120PSI on each cylinder, I have it here on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...E:IT&ih=020 I don't think my price is too bad, I apologize for it being dirty as well, I left it on the trailer after my first trip with it, I love the bike, but some debt is forcing me out of it unfortunately, I'll probably buy another one later , Unless my buddy can get me his, which has a blown engine . I don't know how fast it is, the person I bought it from said he hit 95+ with it, it starts up on the first kick, and my use I used 93 octane with 32:1 ratio havoline, It has a new coil, new throttle cable, and a new bumper(not installed yet). I will clean it up before it goes. I'm asking $1500OBO, With something like this must understand no personal checks, only cashiers/moneyorder/cash. I'm in Miami,FL, if you want it from here, by all means PM me or email me and let me know, and I'll gladly take it off ebay. Thanks in advance. The pictures are on the ebay link btw, it does have brand new Lumberjacks that I haven't gotten to use yet. Oh, as for low hours, no speedo or anything, but the condition that I got it in(stock brakes still work great, original tires), leads me to believe it was barely used.
