  1. G'day from downunder. I've been running this setup for 12 mths now. FMF Fatties,K&N pod in stock airbox lid on, snorkel removed, +4 timimg 98 octane fuel, 32:1 mix,Boost bottle, 310 mains, 30 pilots, needle all the way down, Top end good, bottom end burbly and nearly missfire sounding - it feels rich to me. Sea level Anyway, I melted a piston on the beach ( turns out I had torn carby boots at boost bottle )and so I have some Nasura High compression, High performance pistons(+8HP apparently!)coming and the manufacturer recommends jetting up 1-2 sizes on the main. Oh and its now had a basic port job cleanup. My question is Do I need to go up on main jet size and if so to what? If I go larger on main, will it make my already average low speed performance worse or am I missing something here? Any help would be great. Perth Australia
  2. Hey guys, I have an 08 Shee - fairly stock (FMF Fattys, +4 timing, K&N, 310 mains and run on 98 octane pump gas) and as we know the factory comp. ratio is 6.5 : 1. I am planning to weld and machine the stock head and want to know what compression ratio I can go to, or finished head cc's, and still run my pump gas. What's with 6.5 : 1 anyway - that's gay!! Any help would be great.
  3. Air filter is like brand new, yes it certainly gets on the pipes - up top or full throttle is no problem at all - All the problems lie in small throttle openings and deceleration. I'm thinking more of carb synchronisation and the TORS system. Can the TORS system have an electrical effect on the engine - ie cut spark or alter timing?? Like I say the bike is very new and I don't think the guy before me has messed with anything and I don't think it would come out of the factory with jetting too far out. Maybe the dealer messed it up at the first service??
  4. So the story goes I just purchased a 6mth old '08 shee in mint condition ( 30 hours )- good upgrade from Blaster and after my 2nd only ride today, I'm convinced she aint the shee she should be. On the gas and up it for the rent- Perrrrfect. However, we ride a lot of forestry trails and when on and off the throttle a bit it is very doughy down low or on small throttle openings. She dies a bit when you decel in any gear and then when you accelerate again, it has a noticeable flat spot then comes on hard not smooth. Also noticed on low speed manouvers it can backfire sometimes. The bike is completely stock and did go back to a dealer for its first service (20 Hours) where the records show new plugs were fited etc. It feels to me like the bike runs out of fuel at these times i'm explaining. Does anyone have any ideas on this- I'm sure this isn't right and makes it impossible to tinker around and take my 4 year old son for a ride. Look forward to any suggestions before I start fault finding. mck08
