does anyone have any ideas? this is getting very frustrating do to the fact if you forget to turn the gas off you will have a big puddle of gas in minutes the floats are set properly using the manual and a micrometer any help would be great im puzzled and dont wanna keep wasting money. PS we did check the floats for holes and they are fine bike runs fine it just leaks gas bad. THANKS

yeah it is definately coming out the over flow and i checked the floats for holes, someone told me the fuel seat is probably bad because it doesnt leak when running just when its shut off

ok so i just picked up this 01 banshee it wasnt running when purchased the shifter side carb was leaking gas out of the overflow we took the carbs off cleaned them ajusted the floats with a mic and put them back on well it started running great and when we shut it off it poured gas out of the same carb again so we tried to clean them like 3 more times and it was the same result ran strong but when the engine is off if the gas is on it pours fuel what could this be i dont think the float is sticking but i dont know what it is? any help would be great. So do you think I will at least get 2 years of good shine before it fades? and also how dull will the clear coat make the finish? i have also heard it is better to use a mirror black under the chrome does this matter. thanks for the tips.

also do you know if that reflective chrome will work on engine without being high heat? my bad on posting in the wrong spot im not really for sure on how to move the post.

ok so im planning to buy some single stage reflective chrome powder coat from eastwood does anyone know if this will work on an engine or does it have to be a high temp coat because i dont think they offer this color in high temp but im not sure. i planned on doing my complete engine and swingarm so if anyone has used this and can help me out it would be great. ps does anyone know how much powder it takes to do a complete engine and swingarm? thanks for any tips your help is appreciated -2kbansheerider- :biggrin:

Ok so im thinking about polishing my cylinders and casings i just bought a dremel tool. Is there any particular dremel fittings that work good for these areas? also are there any waxes that work real on these items? what kind of job would I be taking on. I did the head and it turned out real nice i know the case and cylinder are alot harder. does anyone know how long it takes to do a job like this any tips would be great. THANX :biggrin:

mine did this once i took it apart used a new bearing out of my garage and a stiffer spring worked great never had another problem. :biggrin:

ok i rode my bike today for the first time it is running okay but it seems to be to rich the needle is set to the center position what else could cause this?

you were right it was the choke crossover tube actually it didnt even have one i guess it was missing when i bought it but i bought one put it on and it ran way better. Thanks Bansheesmoke

Ok finally got my jets and bike is still running terrible i am completely out of ideas, bike has a fresh topend wiseco prolite pistons 0.30 bore pro design cool head with 22 cc domes and dmc aliens with the following jetting air screws 1 1/2 turns out needle stock center clip #30 pilots 280 mains this is the jets dmc called for. The problem is I thought the pilots were my problem the whole time and then when I changed them it was the same result, bike still wont idle unless its turned up really high and it will not take gas whatsoever most of the time we get it started its buy spraying gas in the carbs i thought after spending alot of money on all this stuff it would turn out good but i guess not. any ideas would be great thanks.

Actually the Dmc aliens call for #30 pilots 280 mains

yeah i know there are alot better out there but i sure hope there better than average considering the cost $600.00

ok so ive heard alot about these other brands but how do you guys rate the DMC aliens? I see alot of people on here that use them do any of you regret buying them over any other pipe?

so if he were to end up using DMC aliens would they still respond to port work ?

thats the too we have heard the most about i see alot of you guys like the t5s but what are aliens all about and in which ways can they help compared to a t5?

thanx for the advice. I also heard t5s are a better mid range torque pipe and aliens are a better top end pipe is this true?

Quick question a friend of mine is buying pipes for his stock banshee and has it narrowed down between Dmc aliens and toomey t5s his plans are to leave it stock for some time with just the pipes which pipe is a better out of the box stock banshee pipe for overall performance. while mostly riding trails,open fields, and drag racing. thanks

ok thanks ill keep that in mind when my new pilots get here it sucks no shop within 40 miles of me had 30s in stock but they all had the 280 mains but I guess you'll have that sometimes.

thanks I sure dont want it to be hard to start so if the 30 makes it like that i will go to a 27.5

ok I had already ordered the #30s when you wrote back because i called DMC and this is what they suggested but if this does not work out I will try your advice. do you think the difference in stock and a 30 would make it run that bad? as in barely idle and not take gas i set the carbs how DMC said i guess ill have to wait and get the 30s and see if that works thanks for the advice. Ps I have 280 mains also recomended by DMC

I just rebuilt my 2000 shee it is 0.30 over has wiseco prolite pistons pro design cool head 22cc domes and DMC ALIENs I bought the bike needing rebuilt and just purchased the pipes the pipe instructions called for #30 pilots 280 mains stock needles and slides and air screws 1 1/2 turns out the problem is my local dealers all had 280 mains and no #30 pilots so i bought the mains and ordered the pilots. I put the mains in because i was anxious to hear it run and left the stock pilots the bike started after i had to spray gas in the carbs it did not want to idle and would hardly take gas would the stock pilots make it do this as compared to a #30pilot and we turned the idle up and it tried to stick wide open any help with this matter would be great dont wanna spend anymore money thanks. Ps it got hot kinda quick
