  1. Sorry it took so long to reply, my server was down!! Thanks for the help and info, it's really apreciated. I ended up putting the old cdi box on and got spark. Guess I'll be callin the guyz were I got my box. Thanx again NHR
  2. So I got me a manual, and read up on how to check conectivity on the stator, switch and coil. Got a cheap ohm meter, got mad at it, and got the digital one. But they both came up reading as "open" when I did the check on my stator, kill switch, and coil. The clymers manual reads that the stator should read around 0.26-0.34, with the meter set at at R 1k. Problem is I don't see a "R" setting and I tried all the setting on the ohm side with simaliar results. I went back to the good ol fashion wire test light, and got it to light up when I kicked her over, but no spark through the coil. I aint no electrician, so any help would be awesome!! I just added: Adjustable timing plate with stator stage 2 rev box from dragonfly ent. wiring harness from an 02 with e-brake, tors removed new ign. switch The flywheel is good and magnetized, gap on pickup coil is set, timing at 0.
  3. leakdown test was ok, exept my compression was just under 90!! looks like I shoulda put a fresh bore an pistons in. Well, back to the draw'n board!!
  4. Thanx for the advise guyz, I'll let you know if/when I get her running.
  5. Unfortunatly I all that too. I'm just blown away on why it won't run. Sure would like to figure it out!!
  6. So I put a new wiseco crank in,(stock stroke) and an adjustable timing plate. Then put my old set of jugs and pistons back on.(65mm) started it up, and shee was running backwards. Got the timing set so I'm runnin the right way, then shee won't start!! Got good blue spark, carb slides in the right way, e-brake and tors plugs removed, clean carbs, new reeds, new plugs, stator pickup gap at a business card thickness. The motor would start but not rev when I had the slides in backwards, but when they were switched, no start. I'm runnin stock mikuni's, tors removed. I been at this all week, an I'm befuddled. Any help????
  7. Thats kinda wut 'm lean'n towards. Mayonnabe a set of keihin pj's 2. Definatly a new filter, but I'm gonna try to dial these carbs in, if only for a backup. Great advice, guyz and thanks
  8. Well guyz, thanks for all the good advice, looks like I'll be saving for a filter now. Til then I'll be slippin the clutch through the corners and enjoying the strataways. Probly here more from you all throughout this awsome site! Later and thanks again!! -NHR
  9. Yeah it sure is, even the first one I rode. Hopefully I'll find more banshee-ers to hang out with and compare.
  10. Well I stuffed the 27.5's and 290mains in. 3rd spot on the needle. 1.5 turns then 2 . shee ran even worse, and wouldn't idle. so Iswapped the pilots back to 25's. Ran allot better on 1.5 turns, still a bog right b4 the band, but I'll try moving the needle. Right now the oil coming from my silencer has got me more worried. Thanks for the tips guys!
  11. Hey thanks again, and here is a afterthought- after the wife got home, I went ahead and dropped in the 27.5 and 310main. It was then that I realized I was missing one of the small brass tubes on my far side carb(the richest one) so I found a partz carb, and got another tube. I gotta go to work, but I'll be back with some kind of results. -Later
  12. Apologies to anyone waitin to hear from me 2day, had to watch the kidz, so I didn't get to do much. I did get a set of 27.5's, andalso some 290 mains. Kinda scared to jump that far down on the mains, so I'm thinkin about my 310's maybe just try the pilots 1rst?
  13. Ok, I'll try that and let you know, probly this time tomorrow. Thanks again for all you guyz advice!
  14. I don't know if I'd call it a "sputter" maybe more of a weak spot, like the motor aint warmed up yet
  15. I run castrol 927 at 32:1. From0-1/4 throttle, shee runs "ratty" like starvin for air.1/4-1/2 befor the powerband, still soft in the throttle and needs a few quik pumps from the thumb b4 for shee bogs down and starts takin off. What seems to work best is a clutch slip and quik few revs to hit the band. If I run the choke on first click it gets worse with more smoke. I'm gettin some oil seepin through the far side silencer. choke tube is connected, all jets the same. Thanx for the help everybody!!
  16. That may be on the raptor, but in my case it was a 300 main on the near carb, and 280 main on the far one. I guess allot of snowmobile guyz jet like that? Least thats what they told me at the shop. From what I've learned it aint no way to run banshee's!
  17. I started off in 3 spot and 1.5 turns, then 2, then 2.25, shee was still runin rich. carbs just had kits put in and are really clean. So should I try the smaller mains even with the good colored plugs? 27.5 pilots not 22.5?
  18. tryin to tune the beast is leaving me befuddled. I got the '98 bansh with staggered carbs, 300 close side, 280 far side. After burnin it up and puttin a set of 65mm jugs, I got close runnin 320 mains on both sides. Test runs in 5th gear wide open show a nice light brown electro, but its the lag on the bottom end that I cant shake. I'm running the stock mikunies,320main and 25 pilot with the air screw 2 turns out, needle is on the top clip, tors removed. stock filter with no lid, boost bottle, stock timing, fmf fatty pipes, not sure wich silencer-The previuosly staggered far side seems to run richer? I made sure both my slides were in synch by moving the cable screws on the top of the carbs until the slides each moved at the same time. I'm at about 900 ft above sealevel and the temp range ismid 70's-mid80's. Shee idles good and starts first kick, I'm thinkin of droppin my pilots to a 22.5 any sugesstions?
