  1. Hey all, Let me start by saying I don't know much about carbs and I need some help. My son bought this banshee that was torn apart in need of a topend. We got that work done (bored to 66 with new wiesco pistons. Its all put together but wont start without using the choke. That isn't so much of a prob but it seems as though it revs wide open with out giving it any throttle. I'm afraid to let it run more than a few seconds. Any ideas where I should start or look? The bike has Mikuni flat slide carbs but I can't see any markings to let me know what size. Any help would be much appreciated.
  2. I didn't disassemble it so I can only assume it is there. I my have to tear it back apart and see? I guess I would think while that would definetely be a problem it seems that this issue wouldn't change as you ensure the pushrod starts to move when the arrows are lined up on the case. In other words if it was adjsuted on the case with or without the ball wouldn't the cable length be irrelevant?
  3. Unfortunately I am not sure. It seems like it is. It has the correct fittings on the ends. It fits right in the notch on the pushrod actuator and slips in up at the hand lever. When the motor was still on the bench (before all the clutch springs were tightened) I could push the actuator and when you push it past the line up arrow I could physically see the pressure plate move so I think it is adjusted internally just fine. Is there a chance the cable could be strecthed that much?
  4. When it was adjusted the entire motor was on a bench (i.e. it wasn't in the frame). Since I had the motor out it was easy to follow the manual on adjusting the pushrod and lining up the arrows. Then lastnight we stuck the motor back in and while trying to get the clutch cable hooked up I notice the with the lever screw all the way out that when the lever is pulled in the cable moves only enough to take up the slack in the push rod. If it were to travel about 1/4 to 1/2 inch more it would probably disengage the clutch.
  5. Hey all, I am helping put together a banshee that my son bought and am wondering about the clutch cable adjustment. I have lined up the arrows down at the case/adjusted the pushrod. Afterdoing so the cable seems like an inch to long. I have adjusted the adjustment screw up at the lever(about 1.5 inches of threads showing) all the way out and the cable just seems to long. I originally thought that maybe the cable was stretched but by looking around it seems that alot of people tried that and found that not to be true. I don't have any oil in the case and am wondering if this could be the problem? Does anyone have some ideas that I can try?
