  1. I have for sale here my 2003 Banshee. This machine runs perfect, start first or second kick and pulls without a so much as a peep in any gear. Transmission is in excellent condition, engine runs perfect, axle bearings are good, suspension is in great shape! It has a nice set of mods to make it faster than the 450 4 strokes! I have always runs 32:1 yamalube type r oil with premium 92 octane gas. Located in Central New Jersey

Yes i had quite an experience with him as he went through the trouble of setting up a false ebay account and bidding on something I was selling just to stiff me and leave me negative feedback after I left him negative feedback for selling me a damaged/faulty coil and then wanting me to pay for shipping back to him. BEWARE
  4. I purchased a banshee coil item from seller minkia38. The item shipped to me was different than what was pictured, it was also damaged. The seller wanted me to ship the item back at my expense. I left negative feedback for minkia38 who then tried to leave me negative feedback in retaliation but it was removed by ebay because he was found in violation of their rules.... I listed an RC car and it was won buy bidder cyclonepipes. The item was never paid for and I opened an unpaid item dispute. The dispute was closed when cyclone pipes never responded or sent payment. I was then left negative feedback from cyclonepipes on an item I ended up having to relist. Later I found that cyclonepipes is an account set up by minkia38 as the email was the same. minkia38 set up the false account for the sole purpose of leaving me negative feedback. This is a juvenile move for a seller to make. Instead of manning up and accepting that he had made a mistake he went through all this trouble just to leave me negative feedback. Absolutely unacceptable for a seller, beware when dealing with minkia38!!!
  5. ill check the tube for holes. the coil is new and so are the caps. I dont know how the carbs could go out of sync from sitting?
  6. The jetting is fine, it ran fine yesterday on the trail for 2 hours. It has 300 mains. The compression is fine as well.
  7. ok I purchased an 03 banshee with pipes, reeds, boost bottle, and kn oval. Its jetted. I had problems with it not going over 3000rpms when I got it. I ruled out TORS, Coil, electrical, compression, anyway it ended up being the precleaner on my kn was clogged. I fixed it. I took the banshee out yesterday and it took about 10 kicks a little messing with the choke but it started. It ran great for the 2 hours we rode. pulled very hard and I was very happy. It started to downpour so we rode out and trailered the quads. Today I took it out to clean it and tune it up. I kicked and kicked without even a putter. Then I changed out the plugs and tried again, this time I finally got it to start. It ran for 10 seconds and died and wouldnt restart. I decided to check the filter again. I cleaned and re-oiled it and tried again. I kicked forever but it finally started for 10 more seconds and then puttered out. I touched the pipes and the right hand pipe was very hot to the touch and the left was ice cold. I tried to start it again and nothing. I run 32:1 premium with yamalube R. Im about ready to give up on it, Ive ridden it once in the 3 months Ive had it. The rest of the time Im figuring out these gremlins. It ran fine in the rain all the way til it was loaded up.
  8. Its getting plenty of fuel, could the TORS system be causing this?
  9. Its not the jetting because it ran great riding for an hour with a new coil. It has 300s in it
  10. Hey guys. I had this problem before and I put a new coil and plug wires on it and it ran good for 1 hour riding time. Then all of a sudden it starts doing this again. I replaced the plugs which looked oil fouled (probably from riding back to the truck while it was doing this, not when it was running right). Now its doing the same thing. This video can explain it better than I can. Thats my banshee. When I come up the street I ease into the throttle and then floor it, you can see the bike fall on its face and u can hear it just die out. Then in the driveway I punch it in neutral and u can see it builds rpms then just dies out.   11. I went through all the electronics with an ohms meter and everything checked out fine except for the coil. I ordered a new one so I hope thats what the problem was. Im crossing my fingers lol

  13. Unfortunately I know of no one else in my area who has a banshee lol otherwise I would have just tested the box. I dont think the wiring will be bad as this bike was garage kept only, always cleaned after every ride and is only an 03. So I will test the stator, pickup, and coil, and my plug caps. And go from there, wish me luck lol.
  14. I had it all apart yesterday, slides are in right carbs, choke tube is in place and the floats are correct. I have to agree that it is an electrical problem because its only once it warms up. when its cold itll rev until it blows up but once it get a little warm and u give it throttle itll bog down a bit then pick up in rpms, once it is fully warm itll either die idleing or if u throttle it, it will bog out and die.
  15. I dont think it has anything to do with my carb setup because the person I bought it off of, who i know personally, Rode it with no problems the way it sits on those mains and all. However he said the last time he took it out was in the snow and it ran great and then he put it in his garage and it hasnt been moved in over 8 months. I think some moisture got into something and fouled it out. If it was a fuel/carb problem he would have been dealing with them when he was riding it. Since then he has changed nothing. I have prociruit pipes, boost bottle, br8es plugs gapped at ,030, v force reeds, and kn oval filter. The mains are 300s and my elevation is 56 feet.
  16. Yea but my problem is its too rich not lean or its not burning the fuel efficiently. I think its either my cdi, stator, or ignition coil. It pops and spits at upper rpms and my headlights are dim, not that Ive ever seen them bright.
  17. I think Ive narrowed my problem down to a CDI box being bad. How much do these go for? As stated in a previous post, I have pipes, reeds, main jets are 300s and kn oval filter. The bike runs good until it warms up in which case it will die if left to idle or if you give it gas it will bog out and die. I put in new plugs took the gas tank off and cleaned it and put in new fuel, the inside of the carbs and engine is immaculate. It runs really rich and the plugs are black and wet. Only thing I can think of is the cdi box is bad and when the engine heats up it puts the spark out. Any other opinions? I spoke wiht the dealer and he said a CDI box is 425 and labor is 79.95 an hour. Do you guys think I should have the dealer diagnose it and fix it or is there another thing i may be over looking?
  18. ok well I pulled the carb off and it has 300 mains and it was very clean inside. I changed out the plugs and gapped them to .030. i took the gas tank off and cleaned it out and put new fresh fuel in it. I hooked eveything back up and it started up and ran good. I let it idle for a while and then it died. I check and it had fuel. I started it back up and let it run, then when i went to throttle it, it bogged and died. It seems to only exhibit these problems after its warmed up, when the engine is cold it runs and revs fine. The fuel i mixed is 32:1 4 gallons of 92 octane and 16 oz of oil yamalube. I changed the trans fluid and put in new 75w90 mobil 1 at 1.8 quarts. What is going on here? Im not sure what could be causing it to act like this. I may end up taking this thing to the yamaha dealer to have their mechanics fix it since it seems like im getting no where.

  20. Ill be pulling the carbs tomorrow to chekc the jet sizes and posting them. I also picked up new ngk br8es plugs. lets hope its only a jetting problem
  21. It has prociruit pipes, v force reeds, boost bottle, and KN filter. I dont know what the jets are, I have to drop the bowls and look. do they have numbers printed on them?
  22. I took the bike out for the first time today and it ran like shit. It was hard to start then once it warmed up anything more than 1/8 throttle it would bog out and sputter all over the place, floor it and it would almost die. It didnt get any better as the day went on. quite a let down and i rode my buddies yfz450 and loved it. The banshee really let me down. I pulled the plugs when i got home and they are both wet, and have dark black crust. Heres a pic (NGK Br8eix) What do you think is the problem? I mean it was damn near unrideable and now that its home i cant get it to start without a push start. Also I think my exhaust is spitting black liquid at the joints. This thing was a little loose on the left side as well when i checked it Im pretty disappointed, please turn me onto 2 strokes lol. Im so fed up with its performance today... Anybody live in nj and know a lot about banshees? If you want to come over and make a few bucks to get this thing running right let me know!
  23. I see many people use ATF Type F in their banshees while others use 75w90 and yet again some people run straight 40 oil. What are the pros and cons to each? If your banshee already is running one type is it best to just stick with that type?
  24. Ok well so far I greased all the Zerk fittings. Cleaned the plugs, BTW what does everyone run for plugs? The bike is VERY clean. I cleaned the KN filter, lubed and cleaned the chain with pjs, filled the coolant res., checked a;;t he adjustment screws, lubricated the throttle assembly, checked crankcase level (it was good), and check all the tire pressures, 4.4lbs front 3.6 rear. The bike starts on the second kick every time. Are there seperate area to put trnas fluid and crankcase fluid? Or are they both located under the side dipstick? 32:1 is the preferred and amsoil is the best? Only run 92 octane premium correct?
