i got the slide to work but what would cause it to turn black and get marred up?

yeah the slide is open

2001 banshee. the valve throttle in the carburator is stuck open and will not allow the cylinder to fire. The valve is marred and turned black. What could have caused this?

Im pretty new to the Banshee scene. Just bought an 03 completely stock. What is best exhaust for MX? Reeds? Jetting? anything will help.
