I am trying to tune my lockout for asphalt. Have to much clutch spring pressure for the clutch to slip of the line. Have ground on stock springs and had no effect. Can`t find weaker than stock springs. I have contacted Direct Drive CNC, who built it and they said to try 4 springs. my experiance with drag bikesis that this cause`s hot spots on the plates and the pressure plate, causing warping. Anybody got any suggestions?
Hey KingKong, been working and haven`t got on here in awhile. I`ll try and help you as much as I can. Give me a call at 580-222-1114 or I`ll try an call you. Went to the track this past weekend, not so good. Shaun
Hey Hillshooter, I`m running a 4mil cub on alky with overdrive primerys, 15th front and 40th rear. 20.5 American Racers on back. I`m running 6.88 at 97 mph in the 1/8th. My 60ft times are in the 1.50`s.Thinking about slipping some nitromethane in it to see what happens. Anybody know what percentage to mix?
Hey man, thanks for the info. I`ve never installed an override. That looks to be right, as there are three different lenght springs. Where do you run at? I`m running in Evadale,TX
I need to know were the springs go in a 1-4 override. I`m trying to get it back together to run this weekend. It`s a WCR override, but their email is down and can`t get an answer on the phone!
I just got my 1-4, m5th & m6th in today. I`m new to the override tranny. It did not come with any instructions and I don`t know were the three springs that came with it go. Anybody have a diagram of this trany so I can get it put in. Any ideas would help greatly.
The problem is the East Coast says one thing and the West coast says something different. One says I need 17th and 38th or39th with 20" Rears. The other says 18 or 19" rears and 18 or 19th front and 40 or 41th on rear!!! And the carbs should be at least 39mm.
I have a lockup already in it. Think I`m going to go with 1-4, m5th & 6th override. What kind of sprocket gearing are you running? I`ve been told that 18 or 19th on front and 41th on rear. By way, Greg at WCR has some full 1-6 that he is putting out for trial. They are $650.00
I`m trying to get a 4mil Cub setup for the 1/8th mile, asphalt. I have a +10 swinger, Wheelie Bar, 18 by 10 by 10 American Racers, 2.68 prims, 35mm PWK`s and trying to decide what override to go with. What are you guys running?
The reason I went with them was I kept shattering front sprockets. Was told by Tony Doukas that it was because the factor mounts let the motor torque to much thus breaking the sprocket. I agree that something has to move somewhere. Didn`t run yesterday because I found the end of the crank was getting into my flywheel cover.
Yea, I know about the viberation, already broke a pipe mount. Also shattered a front sprocket hence the reason I went with the billet mounts. I never had a problem until I went to the billet mounts and had Trinity tunnel my cases and cylinders and assembly. Can`t get any info out of them as far as the problem. Thanks for the input. May have to do a teardown myself and check it out. Was planning on running today but don`t want to chance something breaking/ cases or crank!!!!!!!!!!!
Anybody out there running the Billet Motor mounts on 421 cub? If so, have you had any problem with the cases twisting. I`m running 1/8 on asphalt. Any input would help greatly.
I`m running a 4mil cub and turning consistent 7.3 in the 1/8th. Looking to go in the low 6`s. Going to change to 2.68 primary gears. Any idels about the setup would be appreciated.
