When you gap your plugs, do you bend the "L" shaped metal or push the electrode into the porcline part?

Hey guys I'v been watching the site for a while but just joined today to ask a question. I have been reading alot about overrides but was a little unclear about something. For a Dunable Override. Can you shift up AND down without the clutch or just up and you need to use the clutch to go down?
