  1. They are new plugs. I pulled them and they looked perfect. I don't have a compression test tool or a flywheel puller to do a test. I will take the above advice and call DAB and see what they can do. I just wanted to get some thoughts on what it could be so I can be prepared.
  2. Alright here it goes.... My banshee was running awesome and then it started smoking like crazy on the right side. I took it to the shop and they said it was leaking coolant and they needed to replace the o-rings on the coolhead. So $120.00 later for parts and labor (replaced coolant as well) I get it home. I am heading out to Little Sahara for the weekend and I fire it up. Well as I am driving it to the trailer it starts smoking like a bitch out the right side and just crapped out on me. I tried to kick it a few times and it won't start. I am lost on what is going on here. My best guess is I need the top end rebuilt after reasearching this all day. What are your thoughts? Also, I was going to take it to Lindsay machine in Sandy, Utah. Anyone had work done by them? I just want to get out and play in the sand! :verymad:
  3. I cleaned the filters and still getting the smoke. Don't I need to ride it around for 30 minutes to do a plug chop? I am not sure if I want to do that because it seems to be running really rich. Anything else I can do to troubleshoot? I am thinking of taking it to South Valley Yamaha and have them troubleshoot. I would just like to try and get it fixed myself. I also had a bunch of oil and fouling all over the one plug still. Any thoughts before I open my wallet to the stealership?
  4. Okay I decided to post pics as I looked at both plugs. One plug is clean and the other looks like this: I am getting the same amount of smoke from both sides. Any thoughts?
  5. My banshee is producing a lot of smoke right at throttle through WOT. There is no bog at all. I looked at the plugs and they were pretty wet. I have been doing some reading for about an hour. I am assuming this is because it is running rich. It was running great two weeks ago, but it has since warmed up about 10-15 degrees outside. Should I go down a jet size? I messed with the air screws and that did nothing.... Right now I am running a 220 main jet and I am at 5000 ft. If I need to go down a jet size, what size(s) should I try? I have: FMF SST pipes Cool Head Reeds k&n pods Boost Bottle (soon to be removed after reading this forum) Redline oil at 40:1. If it is not the main jet size where should I start? Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks
  6. Anyone else going to be out at Sand Mountain on 3/28-3/29? If weather permits I will be making the trip. Hit me up if you will be there.
  7. Is the TORS removed from my banshee? I am not sure if you can tell from this pic?
  8. Okay well I decided to push start it and it started. It was only firing on one side. The side it did not fire on was the one I took the carb off. So I pulled it off and I think I put the slide back in wrong. So I tried to kick it.... nothing. Then I push started it again and it was firing on both sides. My only issue is now it won't idle and it seems that it is revving? really high. What now? Thanks
  9. So if it was running with it disconnected would it be safe to say it has a TORS eliminator kit on it? Now that my dumbass connected it and not it is not running be the cause? Now that I can't disconnect it for some reason, should I just cut the wires?
  10. I am adding a pic. The one in red is what was disconnected and I connected it. The ones in green are not connected to anything. Could this be my problem. I also can't get the one in red disconnected.
  11. I pulled them out and put the caps on. It looks like it is not getting any spark. What the hell happened? I did not mess with the plugs or wires? What is next?
  12. How do I tell if it is getting spark. I am new at this. Thanks.
  13. I had to replace the o-rings on my pipes. While I was at it I decided to take apart my carb to see what size jets I had in it and I wanted to learn more about how they worked. (keep in mind the banshee was running great before I did this). While i was putting the pipes back on I noticed a wire harness above the head that was unplugged. Well I assumed I had some how disconnected it while I was taking off my pipes. Well I got everything put back together and can't get it to start. I have taken off my carb three times and everything looks perfect. I think it has something to do with me plugging that harness together. As I have researh this I believe my bike has the TORS disabled because there are two more harnesses that are not connected (I am assuming this wire harness is part of the TORS). My issue is I can't get that harness apart now to see if that is it. Is there a secret to that? Am I on the right track or is it something different? Please help!
  14. I am looking to get more power out of my banshee. I have a few questions. I had a question about domes. I know they change the compression, but can someone tell what exactly that will do for me? What size domes would I need? Where do they go? Can I install them myself? My next question is, should I get a port job done or different carbs? From what I understand is I should get the port job first and the carbs later? Is that correct. 2003 banshee FMF SST Pipes K&N Pod Filters Cool Head brand Cool head I need to do this one step at a time because I also have a black rifle addiction . I am sorry for the FNG questions. Thanks for your help.
  15. I just got my banshee (first one) and I am going out there this Friday and staying until Saturday. I can't wait! Do you have any suggestions on jets I should have on hand for the night ride 30 degrees and day 50 degrees? Don't mean to hi-jack this thread. I will be in a black GMC Duramax Ext cab. My banshee has black race cut plastics with red graphics on the tank (hopefully that narrows it down ) We will be camped at the base of Sand Mountain. If you are out there this weekend stop bye and say hello and have a beer with us. My name is Brady. We may also be out there on the 15th. This stuff is addicting!
  16. You can get them here: http://www.thunderproducts.com/thunder_powerjet.htm They also have the dial a jet. I have been reasearching these for a few days. I live in UT and experiance a lot of temp changes so I am going to give them a shot. I am just trying to decide on the power jet and dial-a-jet.
  17. Thanks. I flushed the tranny last night and cleaned the filters. It is running very well. Any spare parts other than plugs that I should have on hand?
  18. I just purchased a 2003 Banshee. This is my first two stroke so I am looking for some answers. It is leaking oil, and it appears it is leaking where the pipes exit the motor. Is this because the previous owner was running it to "rich"? Is 50:1 the correct mixture? I plan on using redline. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am taking it to Sand Mountain this weekend and I am very excited!
