  1. I have never had a pilot in any 2 into 1 bike over a 50 size. we run a 42 in a 396cc 4 mill with a dune ported motor. A lot of people tend to put way too small needles in, way too big pilot jets, and usually way too big of a main jet. Or way too small of a main jet.

Well I have all the pilots from 40-60 so i guess all I can do is try them and see where I end up. From what your saying though I guess i should try a 45-48ish 1st and see what happens. For the most part I think i'm pretty close on the needle and main. I'm not worried about being a little rich especially with the way the temp changes around here

  2. going back to a 2 into 1? I will trade you a rad berring carrier for a stock style swing arm. carrier hold tapered berrings and i just installyed new berrings and seal mabye 3 rides ago. and a set of Vforce 3 reeds.

    let me know

I have 2 of them already! 1 on my shee and 1 as a spare.

Yea i'm going back to the single but finally got it figured out I think. I got tired of working on the duals then synching.

  3. yea, i said 45 up there, but you may need a 48. mine always used a 48 with great results. all of what I suggest will have to be played with and some tweaking will be necessary. i said 180 to 185 and he's at 190, close.

Don't remember DW, do you have porting? Also, try playing with your air screw some to.

Yea I have unknown porting and motor work and +4 timing. As for the air screw it seemed to get better as I turned it in but was running outta screw. The hollow sound was going away and being replaced by that crisp poping idle. It wouldnt idle smooth though...very eratic and was either to high or to low. would that be caused by the wrong pilot and being only .5-1 turn out on the air screw

  4. I have a set of 28mm Keihin PWK's that are polished, A Boss Billet Intake and a set of UNI Pods. $300 for everything

I'm willing to trade for the following:

    1. Pro Circuit Pipes w/ Silencers

    2. Shocks...better then stock

    3. +1 or +2 A Arms

    4. Head with 18cc domes or partial trade for just domes fitting my Vito's Hemi Head (original)

    5. I need a set of stock rear rims for a partial trade

  5. I played around with mine yesterday for a litle bit and right now i'm at a 190 main, EEK Needle in middle clip and a 50 pilot. So far this is the best my shee has ever ran and I think I am very very close. I had a DEK needle before and it just didnt work for me. I think I may need to go to a 52 or 55 pilot though

  6. On a 2 into 1 its the needles you have to buy that cost alot. you only need jet sizes 180-205. Needles most of he time need to be dek, eek, eej, and sometimes a weird size like dgk. Those setups run real weird, main jets dont make as much difference as the needles make.

I have a feeling i'm gonna be the weird setup cause i dont know whats in my engine! When I tried this setup before I had a DEK needle and my bike would ONLY run with it in the full rich position. It ram great though from 1/4-top but was a little hard to start especially once it got cold out and would always foul plugs if left idle for 10 seconds or even just getting it started.

  7. there you go. now just play and test and play. jetting is 100% trial and error.

Yea I know but its hard when I cant do it here! I live in an apt with no yard and where I do alot of riding you cant get outta 3rd gear and my other spot is out in the middle of nowhere! I need is someone close to albany that has some property or better know how!

  8. OK, I just ordered an EEK, EEJ and EEL along with mains 185-195 and should be here on monday. Hopefully my new single kit will be here then to. Gonna give it another shot and atleast if it dosent work this time i have good working duals that just need to my synched.

  9. See i was goin to buy it and i offered him 2200 and he said i was fucking crazy.. so i told him have fun keeping his shee. I just wanted to get your opinions on this.

I wouldn't pay more then $3,000 for that. People are practically giving things away now. Just keep your eyes open

  10. well, that's not needle, that's pilot. the needle and main take over around 1/4 throttle, below that it's pilot and air jet/screw. if it ran good in the 1/4 and up area, then you need to look elsewhere.

What i think was happening was having the wrong needle was effecting the pilot to since the single carbs are so dependent on the needle. I tried jets pilots from 40-52 and it was always the same story.

  11. Yea I am gonna order a couple. The main issue i had with the DEK was my shee ran great from 1/4 to full throttle but was a little hard to start and always fouled plugs if let idle for more then like 20 seconds. It never smoked alot and I wasnt way off for the pilot and air screw. puzzling

  12. I have been seeing alot of posts lately on the Single Carb Setup alot pertain to its performance against dual carbs or how to set it up for your bike. I recently switched from a single to dual 28 pwks and havent really noticed anything new on the bottom to mid except a little more of a hassle getting them tuned, jetted and synched.

I was thinking about putting my single setup back on but i never got it to totally run correct before. I think because I only had a DEK needle. Anyways this will be a good post for anyone with a single to chime in and let everyone know what you run so that way in the future we can direct people back to this when setting up their shees with the single carb.

    1. Jets your running

    2. Engine Mods

    3. Pods or airbox

    4. Exhaust

    5. Elevation you ride at

    6. Fual and ratio

If anyone can think of anything else please chime in.

  13. If your only real mods are planning on being a timing plate, exhaust and maybe some slightly bigger carbs then I would go with the paul turner mid or high's or even the pro circuit's. See since you seem to do a bunch of different riding I think those pipes are going to be able to give you the best of both worlds to make you happy
