  1. Here we have an awesome 1973 Yamaha RD350. This has been my project since 2015. Now that it is complete I am offering it up for someone to really enjoy it.

The entire engine was just rebuilt and tuned by Nick @ Vintage Smoke in New Jersey. He was trained by one of the best RD guys, John Ritter before he retired. Above in the pictures is a receipt of the engine work, details and prices. The MZB ignition, carbs and exhaust were supplied by me brand new in box and installed at time of rebuild.

This past year I went through the entire bike and pretty much replaced everything on it before sending it out for the engine. I have close to $9,000 into restoring the bike to this condition. When I got it in 2015, it had sat behind a garage since 1991 not running. The last 2 pictures are what it looked like the night I rescued it. Below is a list of all items replaced.

Brand new front and rear tires.
Front wheel bearings and seals replaced with all balls kit.
Front fender sand blasted and powder coated black.
New front brake pads and stainless steel brake line (Not installed but included with the sale).
    New front brake master cylinder.
Front forks were rebuilt with new Race tech springs, seals, boots and filled with 20wt oil.
New black super bike handlebars with new grips.
    New JL Stainless Exhaust
New Power-dynamo MZB electronic ignition with Dynamic ignition timing box.
New Keihin PWK28mm Carbs & Y-Boot intake with K&N Filter.
    New Battery.
New Motion Pro clutch and throttle cables.
Oil Pump delete kit from HVC Cycles.
Swing arm was blasted and powder coated black. New bronze bushings were installed.
New 520 chain and both sprockets
Blasted and powder coated the chain guard black.
Rear wheel was rebuilt with new all balls bearings, seals and new cush drive rubbers.
Rear fender was shortened and powder coated black.
Rear tail light bracket was blasted and powder coated black.
    New HAGON rear shocks.
New front and rear reproduction blinkers that match the originals.
Rear brake stay was blasted and powder coated black.
Rear brake actuator was blasted and powder coated black.
Grease zerks for the swing arm and rear brakes were replaced with new ones and greased.
    New reproduction HVC Mirrors
    New rear brake pads.
All of the rubber mounts for the fenders, rear tail light etc have been replaced with new ones.
Rubber on kick start lever has been replaced with new.
A bunch of misc hardware for handlebars, fender mounts etc has been replaced with nice stainless allen socket cap bolts.

  2. Sal but we dont know how long the bike was low on oil also.

I dont kno if that could have anything to do with the noise we are hearing.

The bike is 80. over with fresh rings/hone and 182psi

Could this be piston slap? How can you tell if so?

    thanks

It was only low on oil because I stood the bike up to pressure wash it before bringing it to you and the oil drained out the overflow/vent tube and i forgot to refill it. That's why it is all over the rear shock linkage...just a heads up.

  3. I have a trinity PWK 35mm 2-1 kit with pod w/outerwear and stainless steel cable, extra jets and needles. BOLT UP AND RIDE.

everything that you need is uncluded. hardware etc...
