  1. I havent been here too long, so I'm not sure where there is to ride. Any suggestions would be great. I've haven't been able to ride anywhere, because everywhere there seems to be a good ride, is a nature preservation......
  2. No sir, i KNEW that spark plugs cost only 2 to 4 bucks, i didnt know that they weren't covered as a warranty item. I know mechanics, but not how to read the "fine print". I assumed if a warranty says complete front to back coverage, i would expect that would include the entire bike... apparently it means they can take money from the front of your check book, all the way to the back of your pocket.
  3. The dealer is down the street. I'm a busy guy, so i figured, what the hell. I didnt know spark plugs were "Wear Items". I thought it would be covered by the warranty, since i was running the right fuel mixture, which the dealer told me. So i just thought i would take it to the dealer to, which is about maybe 4 blocks away, and save myself the time of going to the store, the couple bucks on spark plugs, and the time to put them in. However, this came back to bite me in the ass.....HARD
  4. Well guys, A few of you may have remembered the last post of mine, where I was talking about how my bike wasn't working out of the right cylinder correctly (Post was called "still not running right yet"). Well, I checked the plugs, and sure enough, it was them. BOTH OF THEM. however, the right was just much more far gone than the left. Now, my laziness and cheap-minded self kicked in, so i decided "what the heck, lets take it in under a "WARRANTY REPAIR". So i drop it off, and the guy calls me the next day and confirms what i thought. BUT NOW HE WANTS ME TO PAY $159. WHY, YOU ASK? He said i was running the mixture "to rich with oil" was his words, and it ended up messing up the sparks. I ran the mixture EXACTLY how they told me when i bought it. Which, by the way was, 4 oz. of Yamalube 2-R per Gallon. Now they want me to pay. Is this the correct mixture ratio? If it is, then i shouldn't have to pay a damn thing. If not, then they shouldn't have said anything when i bought it, if they didnt know what they were talking about.
  5. wow bro, i really hope it isnt that. I'll check, but im praying its not something that serious. I wouldnt think something like that would happen to a bike thats only like 6 months old, but you never know. I'll check it out, let you know. Thanks man.
  6. The carbs are stock. If it is the spark plugs, they went awfully quick. The bike is only about 6 months old, having been a brand new 06'. I haven't ran it hard or anything. So I dont know. The carbs should be synced, i havent even touched them, except for last night when i cleaned the right one.
  7. Yep, Still have em on.
  8. Well fellas, I put up a couple posts before about how my banshee was backfiring from the right side only. I was told to clean the carbs. So yesterday, I took off the right carb, gave it a quick clean with some carb cleaner and a compressor. I put it back together. Now, the backfiring stopped, which was great, but the atv still can't idle without shutting off. Also powerband just isnt what it used to be, with a significant drop in power, to the point where i barely notice im hitting power band. I noticed it boggs out a little. Also i notice that the normal blue smoke comes out of the left side, with stronger exhaust pressure. However, the right side, which is the side thats giving me problems, has NO SMOKE, and the exhaust pressure coming out of the pipe isn't as strong as the left. It's very frustrating, and I can't figure out what it is. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. how do you disconnect the choke from the right side? just pull? lol...
  10. sorry man, i didnt even realise i wrote jets, i dont know what was going through my mind. lol.
  11. Wats Up guys, I'm trying to take my carbs off to clean them, I'm trying to solve a backfiring problem by cleaning them out. However, I'm stuck. I'm not sure how to full disconnect the carbs. I cant figure out how to diconnect whatever the jets are connected to. I'm thinking of just shooting some carb cleaner in the carb, see if that'll clear it out. But i would really like to fully take off the carb and thoroughlly clean it. Need Help guys, please...assist me lol.
  12. Whats Up Guys, I'm looking for a set of pipes that aren't outrageously priced, yet perform pretty damn decent. It's not that im cheap...I'm just poor . I was wondering if you guys could give me any suggestions. I heard FMF makes some good 2 stroke pipes, but when i checked prices, i almost devised a plan to shoot their CEO Give me some suggestions guys. Also any sites that have good prices would be appreciated too.
  13. Reccommend any certain type of cleaner? or any old carb cleaner? Got any tips also? I haven't worked on a bike like this a lot before, and the dual carburetors is kinda intimidating me, I'm a little weary that i may mess something up, and not be able to fix it.
  14. Hey fellas, So last night i started my banshee, right after i had fixed the front brakes. When I tried to start it, i put it at half choke, pumped the throttle a few times, and started it up. Not even being on for 3 seconds it shut off, kinda normal, but wait. The next time i get it started, it starts backfiring, and by backfiring i mean a sound of air shooting out of what i believe was the right exhaust. I thought maybe something was stuck in the carb, so instead of checking, me being lazy, i thought what the heck, lets see if it clears itself out. I went riding around, and almost everytime i would slow down, when i would pressed the clutch, the engine would die out. Also keep in mind as i was riding, every other second i would hear that shooting air noise. After a little while it stopped when the bike warmed up. But then it started again, however not nearly as much as before. A little air "poof" here and there. I dont think it would be the plugs as the bike was a new 06' and is only about 5 to 6 months old. What should i do, or check for? and is this something i should really worry about, or am i being over protective?
  15. The brake line ran through the upper a-arm, not around it. So to get the old a-arm off, i had to disconnect the brake line.
