  1. i was just thinking if its not electrical because it works the same with plug wires switched, it must be carb or piston rings or a seal. Can i switch the carbs, reeds and boots put choke side on the right and if it still not running on the left it should be the motor and if the problem goes to right it should be carbs. Will this work any thoughts????
  2. i just put in vforce three reeds and cages, did the same thing with the stockers and boysen reeds
  3. well i just got my banshee back together and it wont run right. It starts like a muel and the left cylender keeps backfireing it it wont idle i switched the plug boots and same thing. new plugs rebuilt carbs i was wondering what would make it do that does it have a blown piston or what thanks any help would be great im about ready to sell it for parts.
  4. yup ill do that
  5. i used that tal aircraft paint stripper on the rims and frame of my tl1000r and it burned the hell out of my skin and i got some on the tire when doing the rims and it started making the rubber soft. so my advice would be dont get it near any plastic or rubber.
  6. i have all the plastic off because i did a full restoration of a tired 87 banshee i bought in a box. i havent put plastic on because its still runnung poorly i havent put them on yet at all for that matter. iv had it six months and have never rode it lol. its almost finished waiting for exhaust clamps from cascade and a few other odds and ends.
  7. itp rims
  8. they should work the raptor and 450 have slightly longer shocks than a banshee though.
  9. wiill do, aslong as u dont mind that the plastic is all off it, im working on the carbs but will post some pics
  10. i have that same kit listed above and it worked great for me. i think i may have bought it from that guy on ebay.
  11. i just bought an itp rim tire combo from yamaha of troy and i am very pleased. they are the new itp ss112 alloys with holeshot xcr tires. combo was 500.00 and they look pretty sweet light weight and very different than most rims iv seen on other quads.
  12. thanks will do
  13. do the two breather hoses need to be connected to equilize pressure like choke tube. i forgot to put the choke tube on and it ran like crap lol. had tons of fast two strokes but this is my first banshee.
  14. i think im screwed i tore it appart to fast and its been a few months i dont know where any of those lines go. where does the lower line from the overflow tank and i cant remember where and how many crank case breathers there are. will it hurt it if i forget one.
  15. i have my banshee almost done now changed the jets and reeds should work ok. When i tore it down i took all the hoses off the over flow bottle and now i dont know wheere they go. I cant figure out what the small line that goes into water pump is for and i dont want it to overheat. any help would be great
  16. try this website do a search for banshee tons of good pics on here. www.atvrider.us/Index.cfm?page=PickPictures
  17. ok i guess i dont need one because my motor and carbs are stock. the petcock i have on there now is leaking a little so i will just use the one off my dune tank for now instead off wasting my money.
  18. was just wondering if the Pingel Dual Fuel Petcock Valve was worth the money or not.
  19. After it warms up when i let off on the throttle it dies, almost as fast as hitting the kill switch. I have k&n filter on it cant use pods cause i do mainly trail riding and could hit some water or mud.
  20. I have the tors eliminator kit on it, i will pull the carbs clean them and check the jets. do i need to buy a full jet kit or can i just buy the 280 mains. Thanks for the help
  21. Just wanted to say hello because i am new to the site. I joined a site like this a while back for tlrs because i needed help with fuel injection mapping on my tl1000r and they were a big help. Im sure when it comes to banshees this is the place to go. I should start with a brief discription of what i have going on first so everyone knows where im at. I bought an 87 shee on 95 frame from a guy at work and it was a total mess. I have replaced every bearing, bushing, shock, fender, new renthal bars, and pretty much every cosmetic part. Wire harness was junk got a digram off the net all rewired with neww coil and stator. I thought i was pretty much done with the project a few months ago because after i installed the tors elimination kit i sinked the cabs and it ran great. MY problem is now the pipes that were on it when it ran well were aftermarket, but were so old and shot that they needed to be replaced, and i have now idea what they are they have no stamp on them. So i added a set of toomey T5s and now i cant get it to idle at all and it is hard to start like it takes 10 to 20 kickes to get it to fire and the left cylender seems to foul plugs. So i was wondering if it would be possible that the jetting could be far enough off because of the new pipes that it wont idle, or if it was something else all together. Oh it runs rich as hell with the standard 32/1 mix. Any help getting the idle smoothed out would be much apreciated and i have no idea whats in it for jets i would guess they are stock it has stock carbs.
