  1. i have had my shee ( with old stock motor) start backwards.. i gave it a quick kick and it must have kicked back and started.. i noticed it ran like shit so i let the clutch out and it was running backwards.. of course the timing was waaay slow.. scared the shit outta me.. i would think that the engine almost stopping and kicking backwards would be hard on piston skirts, rods and so on.. also what about the water pump??

  2. What are some good bolt on performance boosters besides pipes, pods, and timing plate because i already have them

how about a head with 19 or 20cc domes.. also v force reeds.. thosw will help a lot.. boost bottles are a waist of aluminum..hope this helps

  3. Cubs are an awesome cylinder for a drag racer.I dont know how people round me trail ride their 5-7-12 and 14mill cubs but they do.And their even stand-up bikes.

my gearing is 14 41 so maybe if i went to a 13/42 and maybe bump the timing up?? it is set at +5 on my cub.. i have heard you are suppose to run higher timing on a cub motor but i am not sure?? any info??

  4. I got the 87 fixed(5th gears was stuck) and i got some FMF gold series pipes, with power core 2 silencers. It has TORS eliminator. Where should i start with jetting, i live in las vegas which is like 2000 feet

    EDIT: everything else is stock.

i am in kentucky.. i am assuming our alt is close.. is there a head on the motor and stock carbs?? i would throw a 270 or so in it.. just my 2cents

  5. Or PM more-torque on planet sand.i let him know already

i am new to the forum so i will try to register on planetsand.. i appreciate the help. but damn this cub makes a lot of top end power.. i am a weekend warrior.. i trail ride mostly and put a spankin on the 4 strokes that want to drag race.. my buddy has a stock cylinder setup. all he has is pipes and a fresh topend.. stage 4 trinity pipes.. i jetted the stock carbs, ground the shift star and spring and he handed a honda 450r its has in a drag race.. man that guy was pissed.. different strokes for different folks

  6. i might have some shit..

    how can i trust you?

i mean you have 11 posts

  7. Nope dont do it I know dajoejr had t5s on his cub because he wanted to trail ride it and he ended up going to shearers because it wouldnt run right.Ill tell you one thing tho.Call Nate McCoy and tell him you want to port your cub to make it trail friendly and see what he says about that.I know he did it for a guy here in florida and he used it for flattrak racing. With a 2-1 carb setup.1-530-476-2222.If he dont pick up on monday then pm me your number and Ill call him up and give him your number and hell call you.

hey thanx, hard to imagine that you can turn this thing ino a trail motor though.. what pipes couldi run then?? how about i make you a great deal on a cub setup, pistons, dome, stud extenders and all.. the cylinder is polished like chrome too..!!

  8. I have a stock shock on the -2". With the decreased leverage the rear shock seems to work better

i have a +4 on mine and trail ride and hillclimb.. i hate the +4.. its comin off and i have a +2 thats going on.. i like the +2 its perfect for playing around and hill climbing. what do u guys think?

  9. mount your coolant in the front of the frame or just get rid of it.

and then just slide the box back but dont try to bolt it down.

i would just get an outerwear and remove that lid robbing power with it on.

i had the same problem with those intakes.. the spacer that has the crossover tube can be removed.. thats what i did.. i removed the spacer and it allowed room for the stock air box.. it is tight but works. let me know what u end up doing

  10. i have a 68mm stock stroke cub for sale.. i sent it off and had it professionally polished, it comes with a modquad head, domes 20cc, and piston and rings and the stud extenders.. it is in like new shape.. i am going back to stock cyliners for trail riding, i also have a set of cpi in frame pipes for sale and a lonestar +4 swingarm that is also like brand new. everything except the pipes has about 5 rides on it.. make an offer on something.. i also have a set of new 33 pwk's i am thinking of selling if they are too big for a stock cylinder setup..

  11. well ive always wanted a set of out of frame pipes .i had a drag port done on my bike(look at profile) stock with bolt ons.added a set of 34 pjs and a used set of cpi out of frames.i knew my jetting was rich on top, went to little sahara oklahoma this week and had it dynoed. carbs had 152 stock in them-i put 148's in before i left . my buddies shee is just like mine with out the porting ,pipes and carbs. he pulled a 55 !!! the owner of the dyno said he could tell mine was bad rich before we started.

it pulled a 53!!!! my 2 buddies ride the same and you can switch them on both bikes and mine always has at least a 2 bike lead. i went and dropped it to 140 and put a set of fmf fatties and the damn thing pulled 58.....

did i not have anough motor for the out of frames ??? the dyno guy said a set of cpi inframes would help out alot !!! anyone have any advise for me ???? hate to spend 500 on a set of cpi in frames and them run like crap. why were the out of frames hurting me ???????

    thanks for the help !!

im not a bid dyno num guy,i wanted my jetting close ........

well if you decide to go that way i have a nice set of cp small bore inframes i was using on my cub motor.. i am going back to woods riding so the cub is for sale also.. i will make someone a great deal on it.. i had the cub polished also.. it looks sweet.. i have a polished cub cylinder, head with big bore domes, and pistons.. its in great shape with very little time on it( just this summer about 5 rides) make me an offer

  12. wiseco.. dont buy anything else..

hey guys. off subject.. i have a 68mm cub stock stroke.. 33 pwk's.. i haaate thins thing in the trails.. i had a stock cyl stock port and cab setup with timing, t5's, head.. was an awesome hard pulling snappy motor.. i am going back to that setup but with the 33 pwk's.. do u think the stock carb would be better for power and that snappy motor i am after?

oh yeah.. i would use the wiseco's i think the prices are about the same anyway

  13. well ive heard the forged and cast stories i just want to know what the difference is.

in my opinion. a cast piston is a good stock replacement.. if you plan on pipes, head, timing(especialy timing) then go with a good forged piston, as they are mor up to the higher rpms, higher heat and so on.. i hope this helps.. its always a personal prefernce but i stick wih wiseco, no horror stories here on the wiseco's .. cheers

  14. My shop guy said WSM are the best.. what is your opinion and WHY?

WISECO!! why?? because i have ran them for years and never a problem.. i heard bad things on wsm and especially vitos pistons.. a buddy of mine ran vitos several times.., they alway let him down and trashed his cylinders

  15. my buddy just did a top end build (and crank) on his shee. his bike always ran strong but after his rebuild it wont pull 2nd and he says it feels like it doesnt have any top end. he has--50 over bore-k&n pods-stock carbs "370 jets" -timing plate "+4"-lightened fly wheel-shaved head "30 thous"-F.A.S.T. clutch. when we first took it out it felt like the clutch was going south,he ordered 1 from jeff and he said his old one didnt look bad, put new one in and it ran alittle better but still weak. his compression is 165... ive been trying to brain storm but cant really come up with anything. he just rebuilt it !! any thought would be great !!

did u have the carb slides out of the carbs?? if they are stock carbs i have sen people get the left slide in the right carb and right slide in the left carb, when that happens the slides are in backwards.. just a thought.. it makes them run like crap..

  16. Why dont you just sell the cub cyls and domes. And buy some stock cyls and 4mm Crank and port the cyls for your type of riding.Alot of peepz around me go MUDDING with their cubs but you can tell their not having fun.I almost did the same mistake. If you have a lil more $$ to spend go with the 7mill crank and get your cases trenched. Also did you get a lockup or Overide? But if you have alot of money go with a cheetah powervalve cylinder and head set-up.And 33pwks will be to big for a stock unported motor.Theyll be fine with a stroker and portjob tho.Or just a portjob

man i was hoping that the 33's would work well with a stock cyl setup.. i like a motor that snaps open very quick. the cub is long winded.. the low and mid suck real bad.. then it hits the top like all hell broke loose.. its fun until i hit the woods.. i really want to stay with the stock stroke though. its a new crank.. what kind of portwork would you suggest for an all around trail/play rider?? i dont want to sacrifice any top end power.. i like that strong mid hit also.. i really hate to let ehe 33 carbs go though

  17. ok guys here goes. just put this thing together.. it is a stock stroke 68mm bore cub motor. i put a trued and welded hot rods crank in it.. 33mm pwk's, vforce reeds, 20cc domes with modquad head, and cpi inframes.. i do basically all kinds of riding including drag and trail riding, i do mre trail riding than anything.. well this things makes a ton of power, but dam its hard to handle in the woods. i did the shift pro kit and the modded shift star so shifting is not that bad under power.. my last setup was a stock unported set of cylinders with a noss head 19cc domes, stock carbs, vforce reeds, toomey t5's and timing at +5.. and that was a fast, snappy little motor.. question? if i go back to that setup with the 33mm carbs will it still be as snappy as with the stock carbs? by the way i am new on here and this is my first post
