It was detonation, crappy fuel, so I'll stick with my 280's. Thanks for the help.

Finally got my jugs back, need help on torque specs. I have a Trinty stage 4 head. What should my ring gap be? Also what anti-freeze should I run? Should I alter the pre-mix ratio? Should I run it " fat" like a size or 2 above regular main jet? I don't want to have to do another top end anytime soon. Any break in tips? Thanks in Advance. Adam P.S. I'm doing this build tommarro morning so any quick help would be great.

50/50 110 sunoco and 93 pump at 40/1 with klotz R-50. Compression was 155-160 a side before this happened.

it was 80-85 degree's 300 ft above sea level and 290 mains

Was riding today down a flat wide open trail pinned in 6th gear lost power and the rear end locked up. At first it was set up, then got a tow home tried it and it was free, but found no compression in the left side. question is..what to do? Whats the best top end kit vs cost effective? I have some money to play with but I don't want to dump a ton into it. Any ideas what this will cost me? My mods are in my sig. I would appreciate any and all help.

I use Klotz Flex drive 30. It's a synthetic transmission gear lubricant designed for racing 2-strokes with a wet clutch. It's about 10-12 bucks a bottle but It's way better than any petrolem based oils you get from Honda or Yamaha.

Maybe I'm wrong but......looks like a lesser version of my Boyesen Rad valves.

I had somthing like this happen to me, Mine was the tube between the two carbs that acts as a equalizer on low end. It would rev out of control till I put it in gear and rode it. Don't know if thats what you have going on but give it a look.

Ok tested it again with wide open throttle and at least 10 kicks and I got 160 a side. As long as it's the same on both sides this is not a problem right? It is not ported and as far as elevation, It's 400ft above sea level. Does anyone have a comment on the rad valve's? could they be sticking and give me the sputter? I read that rad valves have to be jetted leaner.
-
No I did not hold the throttle wide open. This site wont allow me to post a pic bigger than that, or I don't know how.

I took my shee out last weekend for a rip down the road. It's 35 degree's but I really couldn't wait to ride it again. It went through the first 3 gears like it always does then as i hit 4th it started to break up, so I slowed down turned around and went through the gears again, same thing when i hit 4th. My buddy says to check compression and see what that tells me, I expected 160lbs with 19cc domes but I came out w/ 135 in each cyl. Is this low for 19cc? I am also posting a picture of my plugs. Another buddy says the reason the bike is falling off is my rad valves are dirty, I have not checked them yet but is this possible? My mods are in my signature. Thanks, Adam

This April I am joing this club in Altmar NY, it's probably 2-2.5 hrs from you but it's a place to ride in NY. www.oswegocountyatv.org. As far as now there is a foot of snow and all trails are closed to atv's. I can't wait for spring. I have been considering towing somewhere just to get a ride in this winter. let me know if you find something.

Cool...look me up If you ever get up here. theres a trail club in Altmar that has all kinds of different types of terrain. Everything is ridden up here from Banshee's to 4x4's. A lot of guys have 1000's more in there bike than I do, but I couldn't care less. My banshee is flat out fun on the trails.

I love this thread. I am yet another Notheasterner who rides this kind of trails. I am from the Tug hill region in upstate Ny. This time of year there is zero riding as snowmobiles rule the roost till April. I have a old railroad bed where we can open them up and I don't have any 4-pokes near me. On the tighter trails I do fine but I'm beat up at the end. I have the 26 bored to 28 carbs with a trinity head 19cc domes and I have to run 100 oct. But I haven't heard anyone mention rad valves or power valves. I have Boyeson rad valves and 4-stroke guys can't believe the bottom end my bike has, lot less "on the pipe feel". I know the extra compression helps too. I agree that suspension is what hold a Banshee back. I can ride a much less powerfull 4 stroke though the woods just as fast as my banshee. But theres somthing about these beasts that will never allow me to change. I hate the sound and feel of 4-strokes.

Here is our 2004' Troyer dirt modified. It's powered by a 467 cu in Big block Chevy. Afr heads, jesel belt drive, Brodix intake and Msd ignition. It takes up a lot of time away from riding but I love doing it. The picture is from the Can-Am motorsports park in Lafargeville, NY. It was our first ever Advance autoparts Super D.I.R.T. series race. These type cars race all over the northeast but mostly in NY.

Just got the shee back and WOW!

What is this glamis trip? I live in central New York near Syracuse. I know I don't make 90+ hp lol but I'm always looking for places to ride. -
I have a Trinity stage IV head and have 19cc domes and theres no way I could run pump gas. I run strait 110 sunoco but maybe in a pinch could run a 50/50 mix. But as far as difference in performace I don't think there is much difference, however the NOSS will be cheaper, and easier to get parts.

Thanks for the input guys. I agree new front tires are my first upgrade, since I already have Holeshot rears I will stick with them on the front too. My banshee was set up to do some flat track racing up here and it came with a swaybar I already removed, so I think thats why he had the fasttrekkers on it. 700$ is a lot easier to swallow than 1800-2000 i've been hearing, let me know if it was worth the money. Again, I'm not out to beat Bill Ballance, just my local guys down the trails. Most of them are 450's and 400's, raptors ect...

I am kinda new to the world of atv's, [i used to ride a 86' tri-z] Anyway, I love my Banshee and the power..sound..ect. Down flat trails or roads I spank everyone. My big complaint is the front end beats me up down the tight trails. I've ridden my buddy'd 450 and it just take's so much less effort. I bought the bike used and it came with Fast trekkers on the front. I believe a razors or Holeshots would help. But is there a "hot set-up" without spending a fortune? I don't have the money to buy long travel a-arms and shocks. I'm just a weekend rider who loves smoking raptors,ex's and 450's.

I live in Panther lake area and I have a couple of guys who would come up...but not this weekend. How long are the trails open this year there? I know the atv club in altmar is closed till april 1st.

I live in Oswego co in upstate NY. I am also looking for more places to ride. We ride the old railroad bed and some of the snowmobile trails that are not closed. We have a couple of sand pits a guy lets us ride in. I guess theres a club north of me but I think there more of a 4x4 club that doen't like sport quads.
