  1. I have a modded RZ on a Superkart that we run on road courses. I tried switching to alky using the FTZ 35.5mm modified mikunis that they distribute and have had fits with it. The problem is it will go like a bat out of hell off the line but as soon as I have to break throttle, I can't recover it. The engine just dies. As you know, starvation and flooding can present themselves through similar symptoms. So I've explored both. I went through the host of jets and tubes with little difference. It always dies when coming off of WOT. Yes, I tried running seperate high output fuel pumps--one to each carb----and that doesn't help either. Carbs are mounted so float bowls sit level to ground on FTZ manifolds. Does anybody make oversize alky bowls for Mikuni TM type carbs? Any suggestions? Thanks and, keep killing them 'squitos with that sweet smell only a 2 stroke can make George http://freewebs.com/centslessracing
  2. Thanks, all good ideas. I thought about ther vent and have made it it bigger. Seemed to help some. Didn't think about the pilot jets but thats a good idea.
  3. Would appreciate any help. Where can I get oversized float bowls for alky? I'm told fouledout420 could help? We're running the 35.5mm FTZ alky smooth bores on an RZ powered Superkart, Vito's monoblock, FTZ digital ignition, +4mm twister crank and etc. Here's the deal from my post on another board.... The problem on a Superkart is we brake hard after a very long strraight. Engine goes like a bat out of hell down the straight and then dies under braking (I can't save it by hand choking etc). We've concluded it is fuel starving with all the fuel rushing to the front of the bowls. I have the twin alky pumps that FTZ makes and am running their worked 35.5 TMXs. Last time out, I ran the pumps into a sump tank that then gravity feeds into the carbs. This kept her running after hard braking but the engine was skipping under WOT conditions down the straight. I wonder if I can have enough vacuum to run 4 pumps (2 into sump and two between sump and carbs)? Or maybe I need those oversized bowls? Who makes them? Thanks again, George http://freewebs.com/centslessracing
