  1. Never I will pay 4500$ for a damn frame, rather making one myselft.

You draw it, spot the place where you need more support

Make some math to find out, what you need

  2. what main jet and pilot are in the carbs? what EXACTLY are your mods? what is the temperature where you are and at what elevation are you? these things need to be known before we can accurately help you with your problem.

Everything is on the link I gave, for him and his bike it's the best time investement he can make, he need to be able to tune his bike.

  3. The guy that qouted you was me. Please keep in mind that a simple facing of the deck is what you are looking for and we step a mountain and beyond that with our mods. Many companies get over 100 bucks for a lesser service. We completely recut the chamber, improve atomization and squish characteristics through our specific flow pattern. I am sure there are plenty of guys with a Bridgeport that can help you out but our services are not near the same.

It's important to know what you are paying for. Our head mod is result of many hours of engineering and dyno testing. You will not that from Jo Blo next door with a Bridgeport though. Sorry we could not be of service.

    Brandon is right.

In term of engine, performance or reliabily you get what you pay for.

You can't just mill a head and here you go, you need personalisation, if you care a bit for you're bike.

  4. Hello to everyone,

I am a new Banshee forum member and of course a newbie here. But being a newbie doesn't mean I haven't ridden Banshees, I just don't own one yet. I'm looking to buy one for next season at the dunes in Glamis.

    1. Are any years better than the other in regards to engines, problems, etc? What to look out for?

Same engine to 1987 to 2003, they changed somehing in '03 can't remember.

    2. Being a CR500 two stroke rider, I am painfully aware of two stroke maintenance. So, do the cranks have to be rebuilt often? And how much does that cost, assuming you remove the engine and have a shop split the case, or is splitting the case easy and you just have the crank re-done?

Never heard about crank rebuilding on a stock 'shee. You can get trued and welded if you want for about 150$

    3. Pistion and heads. Are we looking at new pistions and a cylinder bore often? How much for that type of work?

    Not really

    4. Any suggestions on what to look for in a used Banshee? Mods, Toomey pipes, etc.

If you buy a modified 'shee, be sure it was done proprelly.

    5. How about a way to tell if the cranks or pistons need work before buying? Other than a compression test.

    crankcase pressur test? :ermm:

    6. What types of suspension are recommended for a 230lb rider in mostly dunes?

If you have the money, Elka sell costume suspension for your weigth.

    7. Does any one have a stock 2000 Banshee bought for wife, never ridden and in perfect shape for sale?

Kidding, I'm sure they are a pipe dream!!!!

I'm sure I'll have a thousand other things to ask, but just want to find a good, reliable, used banshee 1st.

The one I rode was a mostly stock 2000. Most fun I've ever had at the dunes. Though my thumb got sore by day 3. A twist throttle will be installed on what I buy.

Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.........

you'll have other answer, make up you're mind with all you can find.

  5. Dan Hull worked on a 10mm turbo, with HIS set-up, he had approx the same number as his triple.

But his triple did break the fastest speed land record(3,18 @ 108MPH). I don't have any news from his 10mm turbo scimitar. I think he ran 3,21, not sure 'bout it.

@lowriderb: Look in thread in PS you'll see some picture, it's all custom, I don't think its would be the same price as a 18mm Triple.

  6. Ayou are missing the fact that I am making most of the parts. All I have into it is my time and materials, plus some outside process work like anodizing, heat treating, and nitriding (most of which I can get done in exchange for beer).

All I can say is have fun doing it!

If you make any 16-18mm case let me know.

  7. This is true.

I think Twister may have some sort of strange version of tourette's syndrome though that makes him spout of random drag racing facts for no reason.
