  2. Ive been seeing your bike on C.L. for a while now. still no luck i take it.

No luck yet. I've talked to several people lately and sand toys just aren't selling much. It didn't help that I first put it up for sale in mid-summer (Off of dune season). I did have one solid offer for $4K the first week I had it FS but I turned it down. I wish I would have taken it now. A year ago I could have probably gotton $4800-$4900 but who knew the economy was gonna tank.

    O'well. It's a good bike. I'll keep at it.

  4. For Sale - Here's the hardware description:

1996 Banshee, 421cc Long rod, Cub cylinder, Shearer pipes, 35mm PWK carbs, V-force reeds, +5 Swingarm (W/skidplate mounts), Noss Coolhead w/19cc domes, Adj timing plate, Works rear shock, 20x10x10 Hauler Extreme paddles, Brand new top-end (Plating, Pistons, Rings, & Wristpins) & one season on bottom-end, Very fast (~90hp) & very well maintained, All receipts, Folding ATV ramps & dirt tires included.

    Here's some extra info:

The bike is setup to run the big bowls at Glamis. It's a fast play bike (Really fast). It could be setup better for straight-line drag with a little work (Longer swingarm - more tire) but as-is is a good compromise between turning ability and "Out of the hole" traction. You would be hard pressed to find a bike that could run the bowls faster than this bike and you'll still beat just about ANY 4-stroke up the sand drags. I had a custom rear grab bar made up to be just big enough to hold a 1gallon gas can. That way you can take long rides with your 4-stroke buddies (As they're eating your roost).

I hate to get rid of it, but I need the money. Parts and guidance came from Racer's Edge-AZ.

Selling for $5000. PM me for more pics if you're interested.

  5. What's the best way to clean clutch friction plates? I had some coolant in my tranny oil and I've heard it can degrade the clutch friction material. I didn't notice any clutch slipping before and I think I've corrected the problem but I'd like to try and clean up the friction disks if possible.

  6. I'll be out there sunrise Friday till mid day Saturday. Camping in the washes. BIG group heading out to the Flagpole Saturday for a little Vets Day ceremony.

If you find out ~ what time on Saturday everyone is going out to the flag pole, let me know. I'll meet up with ya.

  7. Who's gonna be there I'll be there with 2 shee's 1 yellow and 1 red and grey. I'll be at the hill around 2:00 on saturday with a red rzr, grn rzr and red ranger and maybe a black shee. with plenty of

    Flo Jo,

Where you gonna be? I assume Glamis? I'll be there Thursday night thru Sunday afternoon. I like the  part

  8. I just got my 421 Cub Banshee running. I bought a used Works rear shock and the tail is now sitting sky high! The previous owner of the shock had a +6" swingarm and I've got a +5 .

My question is what would be a good starting point for a dune setup as far as rear ride height and sag. With my 200lbs on it, it's now at ~2in sag. It seems excessively stiff.

I'll mostly be riding at Glamis, play riding 70%/hillshooting 30%.

    Thanks,

  9. I'm up against the fence on this one. I ordered a set of 20x10x10 9 paddle Xtremes's and I'm wondering if I should have went with 22x11x8-9's (I already have a set of 10" rims - That's the main reason I went that way). I haven't taken delivery of the tires yet and I've got a good relationship with the shop I ordered them from (And they've got a ton of sand tires). They might let me swap tires if I ask.

Anyway, I've got a +4mm Cub motor that I just built and I haven't ridden it yet. 35 PWK's, Shearer pipes, and a +5 swingarm. I like going fast and hillshooting but I think I like value running the bowls and cutting turns more.

I've heard that the 20x10x10's turn and slide a lot better than the 22x11x8's but the 22's have a lot more traction. I've got a guy telling me I should definately go with the 22's. If I go with the 20x10x10's am I just gonna "Sit and spin?" Is there a good in-between tire?

    Any thoughts?

    Steve
