  1. probally 1 of 2 things. either a peice of clutch broke off and its jammed up, or something happend to the piston, maybe a ring came loose and its jammed between the piston and the hole going out of the exhaust.
  2. hey, i wanna say thanks to all that helped me fix this problem, i did some stuff today and i just got it working pretty darn good, i think that the slides were in backwards, there in right now, i put 2 new plugs in, i added a height on the carb needle and its running great now. (fhewww im glad it wasen't the crank seal. one more question though, what is the screw that the carb slide passes when you drop the slide into the carb? i cant seem to find out what that is for, it also has a nut on the screw that you can tighten. thanka agian.
  3. yes i can take a few pics but i will have to wait a couple hours, she went to town and she has the camera. anything else i should check, also you can hear that side fire up for about 1.5 seconds then it stops fireing for about 4 seconds and then it will kick in and fire for a second, and it keeps doing that, also after the bike hits 40 mph or so everything clears right up and the bike works perfect, its only the 1st 3 gears that the problem is.
  4. hey, thanks for the response. yes i cleaned that needle under the floats, i also sprayed it with carb cleaner pretty well, ya the gas im sure is mixed with the oil, but when it leakes out its real black, also i noticed that even the air intake side boot had enough oil in it laying on and around the boot and there was oil laying all inside the carb. i am not to sure what size jet is in there, its been along time seince i did that. (it might be something like a 260 or 270 but im not even sure.
  5. hey hows it going, i had written another post a couple days ago on banshee smoking out of right side exaust, last night i fired it up and noticed that alot of fuel is entering the cylinder, i have a set of aftermarket pipes on the bike and the pipes join right over the carburaters and theres gas dripping out of that and dripping beside my carb. some how there is a way way way to much fuel entering the cylinders, last night i cleand the carbs pretty good, poped it back on and it still did the same thing. anybody know what part of the carb stops the flow of fuel? it seems somehow fuel is passing right through the carb and nothing is stoping it. thanks
  6. the right side is firing, because the exaust gets some warm after about 5 minuts of driving it, also i dont see any oil leaking anywhere at all and it dosen't seem to be using the tranny fluid. is that the only way of checking if its a bad seal, buy driving the bike to see if the oil goes down? or is there another way. thanks, forgot to mention that the cross over tube is on.
  7. it is the thumb throttle side. how can i check the crank seal, also i cleand the carbs out a few months ago and it seems to be all right but i,ll check them agian.
  8. hey hows it going, i have a 1994 banshee, and a problem i cant figure out. when i fire up the bike its real boggy and has no power, the right side exaust smokes real bad and pretty much stays cold compared to the other exaust pipe. the other side runs perfect. i just got done putting on a new cdi box and a voltage regulator with no change. also its only does it when your in 1st to 3rd gears, when u put it into 4th gear (about half throttle and above) the bike runs perfect with lots of pwoer and speed. also when the bike is cold it fires up with one kick but after it gets hot it will not start at all, u have to wait like 20 before it goes, i had it going tonight and when i put my hand behind that pipe my hand got coated in a black greasy residue, so i dont know if its fire or fuel, id appreatite any help thanks.
