  1. Just get a kit 4mil kit from one of the sites sponsors.

I bought mine from HJR last summer and came with everything needed to run and they have options.

Base kit is crank, cylinder spacers, pistons and full gasket set. This will get you running using all stock cylinders and head.

You can skip the spacer and get a cool head with the proper domes cut for a 4mil crank.

Next option is having your cylinders ported to match the stroker crank and riding style.

Surf some of the sponsors sites and decide what you want to build. Mine is a woods/mx bike and runs great with plenty of power and loads of torque. Shocks my 4 stoke buddies every time we go riding.

  2. the kenda kutter XC rears are plain NASTY

you gotta see a set in person to appreciate the nastiness of the knobs, they have a very flat profile as well, like the razr2

they cost about the same as alot of these cheap 4 ply tires like the ohtsu , stock yfz's, etc, if you are concerned about a pound or so.. then 6 ply tires arnt for you , personally i dont give a shit and im out there to ride and have fun, not fix flats and cry at gaping sidewall gashes :P

i am running another pair of GNCC's right now , which have awesome traction, but when they are beat, im switching to kenda kutter XC

Thats what i was looking for, I know they are a cheaper alternative, to maxxis and itp, and thats why im interested. I have the Kutter fronts and looking to match the back with some 6 ply woods type tires but don't think i should spend more on 2 ATV tires then i spend on 2 truck tires.

For playing on the MX track i have a second set of 18rear/20fronts for light weight tackyness.

  3. Loco whats your opinion on the Kutter XC tires? Last year i ran the "honda" tires but looking for a little more durability this year with a 6 ply.

For the record I ride mostly with the same 3 other bikes almost all the time. Another banshee with Razr 2's a 400ex and dvx400 both with regular razrs. The only place I found significantly less traction with the "honda tires" then they did was in the wet, Specially wet grass.

  4. Sudbury eh.. Same here and I can't seem to find anyone who sells aftermarket around here tried royal, sudbury cycle and marine and no luck...

What kind of parts you looking for? I dont have a lot of spare aftermarket stuff but some.

Last weekend bought a parts bansh thats got some leftovers. Stock Carbs w/tors removed, bills head pipes that have like 4 rides on them from new.

I have a bunch of stock parts ide like to get rid of though. If you ever break something and want a stock replacement hit me up with a PM. My brother and I both have banshees so we keep a ton of parts on hand.

  5. Im in Sudbury On and bought almost everything from the US on my bike. I try and find deals on Kijiji for some parts as well. Only things I'll get from royal are genaric stuff, IE bars, tires, gaskets and oil. All my performance or hard parts come off here, fleabay or site sponcers.

I'll say it again as it was said above. SHIP USPS. Its slower but your bypassing the broakerage fees. Also the duty you pay is what you pay in tax in canada anyways so no extra cost there.

  6. I agree with all of the above, try on a few different boots and choose something confortable and quality. I have Thor boots now and find them very nice can ride all day with them. I think they ran about 150 bucks on sale.

Again as said above look for a Snell Bucket. HJC are generally decent for the price.

Not sure where your from but in ontario we have royal distributing stores, kind of like Dennis Kirk, and they have tent sales every year and i picked up Thor over the boot riding pants and jersey and gloves last year for something like 60 bucks total. The pants have zip off legs so they can be worn as long shorts on hot days. They were old stock but super cheap and im not worried about style just wanted to get away from jeans and a t shirt like you.

This year ill be looking into a neck brace for motocross and ramp jumping. Those who are using them what are your feelings? What one do you wear?

  7. In Ontario, its blue book value on the bike, forget the upgrades. I pay less than $100 a year on mine, $300 deductible for replacement value of an 01.

What company is this with? Im in ontario and tried the local broker my truck is with and they told me they couldnt insure a banshee due to liability.

  8. I bought and installed new resistor caps and non resitor plugs last weekend but it didnt help the problem. ill test the resistance without the caps.

While i have it appart maybe ill "borrow" the coil from my brothers shee and try that as well.

  9. Im having the same issue. Spark on one cylinder but not the other. ive replaced both boots and plugs and still the issue.

Does this rule out that the CDI and Coil are bad? I just changed both within the last 6 months with aftermarket units OE sytle equivelents and the bike was running flawlessly until this weekend where on a run down the lake in 6th one cylinder stopped fireing. I had thought maybe i burned down one side but both plugs looked good and compression is good.

What should the spec be on the pickup on the flywheel. I read somewhere the thcikness of the cardboard of from a set of plugs but thinking it should be a little more exact then this.

    Thanks in advance.

  10. I just finnished building a Banshee with bills pipes. Other then pods, 28mm pwk's and the bills pipes the engine is stock. I have only ever ridden my brothers banshee with Pro Circuit pipes, VF3, Pods so i dont have a lot to compair mine to. The PC pipes seem to have more overall power but are not that smooth throughout the band. The Bills pipes seem to much smoother and more predictable. My riding buddies like the sound of both but the bills pipes are a cleaner/crisper sound.

One thing to notice the PC pipes stick out of the frame a lot more where your knees are. His has a lot of burn marks from pants and legs and my pipes are still mint as they are tucked away much better. Ill post pics tonight.
