  1. If you can get up here come to this track http://mmracewaypark.tripod.com/ we run every sunday with the cars. 96 isn't running us every friday night like they did last year so we've pretty much given up on that track.
  2. It can't hurt to ask but I am betting they will say no due to insurance costs. You will need to gather up around 15 to 20 riders to make it worth their time and money. I would definatly ask though and see what they say.
  3. We had 2 guys that showed up Sunday that were not set up for it. They did alright until one got to far sideways and high sided his bike, the other guy slammed into me after I had stopped to help the fallen rider and messed up his front end pretty good. They were running pretty much stock bikes, stock tires so yes you can run but if you show up and are running a honda/suzuki I have a new set of hoosiers mounted your welcome to use that day, at least that way you will get a better feel for it and will be a little safer on the track. The next 3 weeks is going to be a small group with some people taking their vacations and some have to work so we are only expecting 6 or 7 of the regular riders for the next 3 races. If your topping out at 70 you should do alright, I know a couple guys are running stock gearing on 450's and they hold their own pretty good.
  4. I'm sure the race for today at Mid Michigan will be called due to rain, were getting alot right now which we needed. Next race will be at I-96 http://www.i96speedway.com/ June 8th Friday night, check the site for times. I prefer night races so I will definatly be there. It looks like it will only be bikes and quads running this Firday since the World Series off Road Racing has been canceled. We were schedualed to run Fri, Sat and Sun during this event but it looks like its just Fri now. We will also be at Mid Mich again next Sunday weather permitting. I hold the record for lap times so far  for last Sundays run with a modded banshee only 2 hundreds of a second behind me. We went from low to mid 17 seconds down to mid 16's. The track had so much bite last weekend alot of the guys were 2 wheeling through the corners. I wore out both right side tires in 20 laps.
  5. My schedual shows we are supposed to run this Friday night (6/1/07) but I can't say for sure if we will run or not. We have been running at Mid Michigan Raceway Park every Sunday with the cars on their regular schedaul and most of the guys like this track over I-96 so I don't know if they will be coming out to run 96. All I can say is to call and ask 616-642-0555. I will probably be there but if we don't get the turn out its not a big deal, I live 10 minutes away. You can come out and run at mid michigan on Sunday. Its a bigger track than 96 and alot faster. $25 to enter, every position gets paid back. Gates open at 3, hot laps at 4, time trials at 5 and racing follows. We got out of there around 8 last Sunday. Find the hardest compound tire you can for this track, we chewed up alot of tires last sunday, almost everyone has to replace tires for the next race. The track does have new american racers for quads if you want to buy them there, price was right around $84 per tire for 18/10/10 sd38 compound.
  6. I-96 was a mudfest, worst I've seen that track, knobby tires would have worked perfect Saturday. We ended up running a few laps on the half mile track just to screw around and help the bikes get a wider groove to run on. 6th gear wide open. Mid michigan raceway was a blast to run on Sunday. We had a couple sets of hot laps then came time for time trials. 8 quads showed up, 7 of the 8 all ran in the 17 second range on the 1/3 mile track only seperated by a couple hundreds of a second. I was 5th fastest. After everyone timed in they made the list then inverted it putting me in 4th position for the heat race instead of 5th. I don't even remember where I finished but it was 4th or 5th, hard track to pass on once your up to speed. We were almost the fastest class out there besides the modifieds, turning around 80 mph on the straights. For the feature they rolled a 5 which means the guy in last place on the inverted list from earlyer goes to the #5 position which put me on the inside pole. It was wierd how that worked, never seen that done before but its still the luck of the draw. I ended up falling from first to third in the first 2 corners and worked my way back into second at the finish. The best part about this track is that at the end of the night, every rider took home some cash. First place wasn't the normal big payout with a little leftover for second and third. Payout was $10 difference for each of the top 5 riders and the last 3 got the same amount I believe. If the owner made any money off of us (riders) it was only like $20 and he wants us there every week. He said if we can get a big group to show up he will do a big money race. I probably should mention, a banshee took first :yucky:  BUT was not the fastest time. A YFZ had the quickest lap time by .2 sec I really wanted to get some video of this race but my batteries were dead but I will try to get some at the next race.
  7. Racing at I-96 today http://www.i96speedway.com (5/19/07) gates open at noon, racing at 1:30. It looks like we will also be running at Mid-Michigan Raceway Park on Sunday (5/20).
  8. Main event, top 3 in each heat redraw for position. I drew outside pole. About 2 or 3 laps into the race a couple riders got tangled up and caused a bad crash for one rider, this is almost a regular occurance in each main, I've seen alot of bikes get dragged off the track over the last year, mine included. You can see he takes a big fall, thankfully he is not seriously injured but his bike took alot of damage. These guys were all experienced except for the guy you see standing up in the back of the field, no idea why he was doing that. The guy that crashed ran all last year and usually finished in the top 3. Sad thing is he also runs a car at this track and had a huge crash the night before so he had a terrible weekend of racing. The video was broken up into two parts due to the crash. Dan, the guy that crashed was the raptor 700 number 97 Don't know his name. View My Video Main part 1 View My Video Main part 2
  9. Heres the first heat race, my buddy had to leave so he didn't get any footage of the second heat. The track was dry and loose all day, the wind was a big burden, kept blowing dust on the track which made it slippery everywhere. Keep an eye on the website, Mike (the owner) said he will get us on the schedual so people know we are running out there. A tt track was also mentioned by Mike but it would have to be built. I'll post the main event tomorrow, its taking a while to upload the video. There was another crash today which probably totaled the bike, everything was bent or broke. Thankfully the rider was not seriously injured. View My Video
  10. I'll let Dan answer that one. Lets just say traction was nowhere to be found for anyone. The track was loose all day, as soon as it was watered the wind was drying it right back out, not giving it time to soak in.
  11. We ran today, turnout wasn't that great but almost every quad there was set up for ovat track. 9 quads with hoosiers, 2 without. A couple guys showed up and couldn't run due to not having the right safty equipment from what I understand. I didn't take as many pics as I had wanted to but I did get some video to show. Who wants to see it? I had a friend doing the video so I only got one heat race and the main event. Were doing another practice at Mid-Michigan Raceway Park on 5/10/07 if anyone wants to come out and run or watch.
  12. We did practice at Mid-Michigan Raceway Park tonight and wow, what a fast track that is. High banks, banked straights. We were running 17.04 second lap times on this track, 1/3rd mile. For comparison, I-96 is a 1/4 mile and I was less than 2 seconds off my pace for 96 and there is a 440 foot difference between the two tracks. We will be racing at this track, the owner is all for us coming out and running a few races. You can also practice every Thursday if you want. My son took these pics so you can get a feel for the size. I was only able to salvage 4 pics out of about 30. He's 11 and this was his first time with my camera. I got there at around 4:30 and had so many laps in already I left at 7. For $10 you can't beat it. If the track gets dusty, just ask the owner and he will water the track real quick. There were only a couple of us there and between about 5 people we put down a nice groove in a short amount of time. I would recomend a hard tire for this track, soft compound will be gone quick.
  13. How about Thursday? we changed the days around from Wednesday to Thursday. No problem if you can't make it, I think theres only going to be a few of us there but we may be racing at this track depending on what the owner says Thursday. Wait until you see this track, the owner takes exellent care of it and its smooth.
  14. New flyer is done. Needed some more room so I had to make a few changes but I plan to get some new pics at the track to change the background for each flyer. Times are not set in stone yet but I've heard from a couple people now that have said the same times.
  15. Mid-Michigan Raceway Park http://mmracewaypark.tripod.com/ The owner of this track is going to let us practice on their track, we plan to be there Wednesday (5/2/07) for anyone that wants to come try it out. Cost is $10 per person and we plan to be there around 6pm till dark. A couple of us are also going to check out another track this weekend that is supposed to be a 1/4 mile track. If anyone knows of any 1/4, 1/3 mile oval tracks in Michigan please let me know, we are working on forming a MI flat track series where we go from track to track all over MI.
