  1. Well, no go on the die idea. Threads are just to striped out. Time to start looking for a new axel.
  2. yea, im going to run a die on it tonight at the shop. Got one from work, freebie. Well see how it goes.
  3. Sounds good. Thanks for the replies
  4. Yea, it wasnt fun. And of course it happens when I was riding alone, doing some 2-stroke Tuning. I think im going to run a die on it, see how that looks/works, and go from there. Anybody ever run a die on an axle?
  5. While riding today, my left rear wheel fell off. Luckily in a field. When i bought the quad, for some reason, where you would put the cotterpin in, The axel was cut off at the point, so there is no where for a pin to go in. Im assuming the nut just backed off and fell off because of no cotterpin. Anyway, now my threads on the axel are stripped, and i cant put a new nut on there tight. If i run a die on the threads will that be a sufficient fix, or am i likely to have to replace the axel. By the way, i dont know if this has ever happened to any of you, but dont let it. Scary sh*t, even in a dirt field.
  6. No, but i got it figured out. Turns out the clutch discs were dry and stuck. Started bike up in nuetral, gas about 1/4 throttle with clutch in, droped it into first, and then it worked. Freed up the clutch and allowed it to oil again. Works fine now. Thanks for all the help!
  7. Any other ideas?
  8. I think I routed it the same way as it came off. The marks on the cable and the case are pretty well lined up.
  9. Didnt tear into the motor, trans, clutch or anything. Took the whole motor out, and set it aside. I was kind of thinking maybe the plates dried out also. The temp around chicago here the past month hasnt been to to warm, actually its been rediculously cold. Could that play a part?
  10. Recently stripped down my shee to the frame to have it powdercoated. Prior to doing so, everything worked fine. Just got it pretty much back together, started it up to make sure everything ran ok. Anyway, the clutch wont disengage. Pulling the clutch in does nothing. So i adjusted it, and adjusted and so on, well still no luck. Any ideas? Worked fine before tear down, but not after putting everything back together. I never took the cable off at all. Shee sat for a good month and a half from start of tear down till now.
