  1. So....my wife and I are sick and tired of being in debt. We're selling just about anything that's not bolted down. I don't want to do it! I put a lot of time, money, and knuckle skin into building my RZshee...but, it's gotta be done!

The story, it's a '96. I bought it on Ebag as "completely rebuilt"...of course, he meant I needed to completely rebuilt it! The original motor had the crank seal in backwards, the swing arm had a piece of thread rod for the mounting bolt...just a bunch of shit like that. So, I went through it all and got it completely ridable. Then, not being able to leave well enough alone, I got the whiff of doing and RZ conversion. The motor is all RZ, meaning RZ trans too. The jugs are 1mm over and have had some port work done on the intake side. The bore has maybe 20 hours of riding and the trans has had the oil changed twice. I put a FAST clutch and basket in it. Other parts include VF3 reeds, PT High Revs (black), and FMF silencers. I put a Cascade 2into1 and 35mm PWK on too(your thumb will thank you!!!) I think it has a wider than stock axle but I'm not 100%, if someone will send me the stock dimension I'll go measure it. I JUST put new 20" Holeshots on the rear. 14-41 gearing, new rear sprocket and chain. The rims are powdercoated, not painted. The plastics looked like crap when I got it so I painted them with truckbed coating since, at the time, I mostly road in the woods. I'd rather BE fast than look fast.

The Blaster is a '91 I believe. I traded my brother for it...my wife learned to ride on it. It's all stock and the motor has been rebuilt.

I'd like to sell these as a package for $3000....or, since this is a Banshee board, $2500 for the Banshee. I think $3K is a good price for 2 quads!

I'm in Phoenix (Queen Creek) and would be willing to deliver these to the Vegas/LA/Albuquerque/El Paso radius for gas money.

Small bonus, women's size 9 boots and a medium helmet go with the Blaster.

  2. where you located?

parting out my 1990 shee i have a complete quad. i have 2 frames (1990 Jarm and Another 2001 Aarm)

all stock besides i have a underbody skid and swingarm skid, freshly honed cylinders and a milled head. brand new toomey tors system, bills pipes with silencers and a bunch of stuff, extra swingarms.. extra arms, handlebars, headlights, complete engine, shocks, hubs, spindles, plastic...

im putting it on ebay, im giving bansheehq members a chance to get the stuff first. if you need something ask, i have feedback.

  3. I put on some new Holeshots and found out just how bad my current chain and sprockets are!! So, school me up on chains. I see X-ring, O-ring, cheap, expensive....yada yada yada. Since I don't really feel like wrapping a chain around my ankle I'll spend what I need to for a good one. I think I want to go with stock gearing, 14/41 (I'm at 13 on the front now). Although I'm considering 15t front. Do I have to add links if I do that?

    Thanks for the help!

  4. As soon as you'd have time I guess... Wouldn't mind getting out a bit. Turning out to be a nice fall season. That or I been considering letting it go for an Enduro. Haven't ridden it in like 3 years and a bike would be a bit easier to get around at this time.

Either way it's getting on my nerves walking into the garage and seeing it all polished and no point taking it out cause it just doesn't work right..... Let me know what you want and I'll PP the $$ soon as you ready.

how much do you want for it?

  5. Is that the best price for NEW that could be found? Is Trinity the only ones that sells their kit? I want the kit but trying to find the best price right now.

cascade sells one too....that's about the going rate for a new setup. if you watch ebay you can get one for around 300 to 350, maybe less if you're lucky.

my carb is a pwk 35mm...which i think is about the norm too.

  6. Ok, I should be getting my cylinders back this week, and I was planning on putting the top end back together. Just had 2 questions before I got started. This is my first Banshee top end assembly, I've done a few dirt bikes before.

In Clymer, they show a piston holder tool, and then show you how to make one out of wood. I was wondering if there was anywhere I could just buy one, or if you guys didn't even think it would be worth it to use one(never have on any of the other bikes I worked on)

Also, I had the cylinders PCed, and I took the coolant plugs out of the bottom. I bought new ones, and in Clymer they tell you to use Gasgacinch to re-install them. I couldnt find gasgacinch at Pep Boys or NAPA around here, and from what I've seen on the internet it looks like it is just High Temp Silicone. I was wondering what everyone else used if they did theirs.

    As always, thanks,

    hey man,

a piston holder for what purpose? i've had 2 top ends apart and back together and never had to use anything other than my hands to hold things in place. is it to keep the crank in place while you're sliding the jugs on? in any case, if you've done dirtbike topends you'll be fine.

not sure about the other thing...sorry.

  7. i have already searched high and low here for the answers but didnt find what im looking for...

seems that its time for a crank top end and a clutch.. i was told i can get a rebuilt crank for $500 i looked at a few places online and found the HOTRODS stroker crank and top end in a complete kit for about 750.. does anyone have this kit and how is the reliability of your shee with it?? i also need a clutch, the shop is telling me that the HINSON complete clutch is $800 ballpark.. i know hinson is one of the best of the best, but is there anything out there close to the same quality with a bit of a better price??

or can anyone recomend any other manufactures for any or all of these things that are both good quality and price??? im not trying to be cheap on this but at the same time my bank account and my fiancee wont let me drop almost $3000 into my shee right now.

F.A.S.T racing's clutch and basket are very nice and no where near $800. I'm running the setup on mine and love it.

if you're on a budget, why not look for a good used crank, hone your jugs, and get new rings? if that kit you priced is for a hotrods stroker crank and jugs that are already set up to match it then i don't think it's too bad of a deal....actually, it sounds a little low.
