  1. Are the V3s ready to rock? Is that $150 shipped?
  2. Sweet, thanks
  3. Thank you very much for your help.
  4. Yeah I knew I would have to test the compression once the domes were in but I just wasn't sure if having a higher compression (just say 150psi) and +4 timing was still safe on pump gas. Would my best bet be to try it and if I get detonation to back the timing off a little or won't the higher compression affect my ability to advance the timing?
  5. I know there have been a lot of posts lately on the compression/cool head topic and I did use the search button multiple times but I didn't find anything that really answered my question. I don't know a whole lot about this stuff so please bear with me. I am looking to get a cool head and I want to know if I can run +4 timing with 21cc domes on pump gas. If so is 21cc the smallest I can go (with +4 timing) and still run pump gas without detonation? My compression right now is at about 125psi at 800ft above sea level. Thanks.
  6. I am selling my 2001 Yamaha Blaster of which I am the second owner. I purchased it from a dealer who rebuilt the motor boring it 0.020 over. The bike is mostly stock with an FMF silencer. The fenders are spray painted blue and the frame is painted silver. There is also pin striping that I added for looks but it can easily be removed. The bike is in great working order and always starts right up. Hardly ridden and never raced. Sorry for the poor pictures, I can take more in the daytime if anyone is interested. I am located between Pottsville and Reading, PA. I am willing to travel a reasonable distance to meet. I am asking $1200 but I will take offers because this bike needs to go. Any questions or offers, please ask. My email is [email protected].
  7. Still want to trade the '02 bike for a blaster? If so where are you located? email [email protected]
  8. I'm sure he will appreciate the power. I know I would have when I was 15.
  9. Yeah my cable was like that. I didn't really think about that when I posted. Yeah I'm up the Pottsville way quite a bit. Small world.
  10. Yeah I figured you rode down by Wal-mart. I've never ridden there suprisingly. I usually ride up on Sharp mt. in Pottsville or up at Bear Gap, near Shenandoah.
  11. I'm guessing you don't want a set of purple plastics? They are pretty nice I just used that plastic re-new on them.
  12. I had the exact same thing happen to me shortly after working on my clutch. I was having a problem with my banshee accelerating and determined it was a bad clutch. I replaced it and took it for a test ride and it just gave loose and I didn't even feel it happen, it just was like it was in neutral in every gear. The locknut came loose due to the fact (I think) that the huge nut (32mm or something) which I don't know the name of being loose. The guy that put my banshee back together before me forgot to use the lockwasher. That was supposed to be torqued to 90 N*M and I could spin it with my fingers. So I am guessing that your locknut came loose and let the friction/clutch plates open up(I don't mean the 32mm one I mean the small locknut on the outside). I could be wrong, just trying to give input. EDIT: Holy crap I just realized that you live in Frackville. You mean like close to St. Clair? I live around Schuylkill Haven.
  13. I thought I read on here somewhere that if one piston was in backwards then it would only run on one cylinder and if both were in backwards it would not run at all. Sorry I was just going off of what I read. Is it possible my piston(s) is/are in backwards? And yeah i will be riding around sea level with those temps and with no lid/snorkel. I don't ride much in the winter.
  14. I don't think that a piston is in backwards because I read that if it was the engine would run off of only one cylinder. Does anybody have a jetting recomendation once I check and possibly fix the clutch? I was thinking about 280 mains with the LRD exhaust. Anybody????
