Just wondering if any body has been to la dunes lately? How is it? I havent been in about 2 years. Wondering if anybody is going riding this weekend at the dunes.

Well my bike is back to running normal, finally. I ended up buying some VP racing-C12 race gas. 108 octane-leaded. I also swapped my reeds from vforce 2 to stock due to v forces looked like they had a small gap where they close. This made a big difference at low rpm, throttle response. I also found a pilot jet that was partially clogged. Anyway I got it back running right. Thanks for the help guys. :beer:

Well thats the thing. I bought it from my buddies dad after my buddy got killed in a vehicle accident. I run castor 927 at 32 to 1.

I am running stock timing. I was trying to not have to run race gas but now it seems like I will have too. I might as well increase my timing. I will go +4 after I get my race gas in tommorow and see if that cures my problem. I appreciate the help guys and will let u know how it comes out.

I pulled the head and looked at domes and pistons. The top of pistons were black and carboned up pretty good. The domes about the same. I just hadnt run the bike too long with pump gas.

The symptoms that I described, do they sound like detonation. Will detonation make u lose power and make your exhaust sound different? I know what detonation is but just don't know what exactly will do to your bike as far as running and power. I know that if it is I am running the risk of blowing my pistons, crank, domes, etc. Also I am planning on buying a gallon or 2 of Ultimate 2 race fuel. Any of you guys ever used it. I think octane rating is 110 or 112?

I was kinda of a guess on the dome size. It is either 17 or 18cc. I did mix castor 927 at 32 to 1 ratio. I really hope it is detonation due to needing race fuel. Otherwise I am outta ideas. I have checked everything that I can think of. Any more suggestions would be appreciated.

This is what I have. I bought the bike used and i think it had race gas in it. It has a wicked head but dont know what size domes. After I used the fuel in the tank that was in it when I bought it I put 93 octane. I rode it for a total of about 15 minutes before it started running bad. I decided to check compression. 175 in left side and 178 in right. I believe this is way too high for pump gas? What are the signs of detonation. The way the exhaust sounds is way diff from when it was running good. The bike feels real sluggish at low rpm. Only when I ride it hard down the road revving it out does it run half decent but not like before. Still sounds different. Even in neutral just giving the bike some gas it dosent seem like it wants to rev fast. Does this sound like detonation or something else?

Depends on how much vibration u talking about. I know my engine will vibrate the worst right off idle but above that it is smooth. I also have a small vibration at idle but nothing out of the ordinary. From the banshees I have been around they all have vibrated a decent amount.

I am running about 155 psi in each cylinder on 93 octane. I am guessing my bike has around 45 hp with the mods that I have. I also thought about the crank. Probably needs to be welded before going with a port job? Thats the only thing I hate about adding hp. You add 1 thing and you will need to do 5 other things. Thats the price of going fast I guess!

I am thinking about getting a small port job. Just something to add hopefully an extra 10 or 15 hp at the most. Is it possible to still use the stock carbs on a small port job. That is my problem, I dont have the money to buy bigger carbs and intake manifolds and bigger air filters. I need to use my stock carbs if possible.

Also I have a good bit of surface rust on my pipes. Esp on the stinger. What is the best thing to use to get the rust off before polishing.

I bought a used banshee that already had a wicked head on it. Has anybody here ever used one and how good is it. Do u have to use domes for this head or can u use domes from a pro design or other brand. From what I have heard there isnt much difference between the heads just depends on what size dome u have in it. They probably all cool about the same.

I was wondering if any of u had the mothers polish ball that u put on a cordless screwdriver. How good does it work. Does it do good on pipes and rims? What about getting to the head on the motor. Also what kind of polish does good with it.

Does anyone have a pic of the armadillo bumper from rocky mountain atv. It is calle a banshee custom lite bumper and costs 120. I am thinking about getting one but would like to see it on a bike first. If you dont have pics then tell me if it looks alright and is worth getting for the money.

I think that I heard 170 and above you need to run race gas. But I wasnt sure. I have heard a few different things?

I am thinking about advancing the timing +4 but don't want to if I have to run race gas. I have 155 psi compression in both cylinders at sea level. I am running 93 octane right now. Am I pushing it with pump gas at this compression or am I ok?

I just bought a banshee from one of my buddies. He got in a accident 6 months ago and was killed. Well anyway I bought it from his dad. Before his accident the bike ran fine, never had problems with it. He had rigged up his bike to crank without the key. Well I have the key switch and plugged it in to the white connector with 2 wires. One wire is black and the other is red with black stripe. I can't get any spark and I don't know how he was cranking it. Please give me some suggestions of what I need to check.

I am trying to remember what is the hightest copression that you can run on pump gas. I think 170 and below is ok for pump gas or is that pushing it. I tried searching but couldn't find anything on it.

I was wondering if anybody could help me with this. I wanna take off my key switch and disable it. What wires do you have to hook up straight and what else do you have to do.
