Where is the vin? It's so muddy I can't find it.

I bought a Banshee but the guy was unsure of the year. He said when he bought it, he was told it's a 1999 but the guy I bought it from said it has the J-arms so it's 87-90. Can anyone tell me how the check the year from the vin #? Thanks!!
