  1. :ninja: Message sent to you....
  2. I appreciate your input! I hope that I slow my mind down enough to really pay close attention to the bike and it's needs. I do expect some mishaps out there to happen, but I know that it is all a part of the game. You gotta learn to fix it and move on! I was actually doing some drag racing today at the coast, and the whole time I was wandering about just exactly how that 16mill will feel. I can't wait!
  3. My sentiments exactly!
  4. This is a friend of mine's bike that he put together. He's helping me out as well. And no, his bike is not a 16mill.
  5. You're right. The Oregon dunes are a little too small for an open throttle like this bike. It would be hard to ride in the small sand trails. Not to mention the chance that I could be riding a wheely while approaching a turn only not being able to turn without front wheels on the ground, slamming into a dune. :shoothead: But honestly, I have actually planned on running it in Glamis. I'd like to eventually see how it will hold up to others in it's class down there. for the replies everyone! Has anyone here actually ever rode a 16mill or anything very close to it? If so, I would love to hear how the experience was.
  6. Good point. That has been on the back of my mind. I think I will try and get more involved and I'm sure I'll learn slowly but surely. I've seen what your're talking about on the dunes, people broken down and all. I do have some close friends that always go riding with me that work on bikes all the time, but like you said, I don't think they've ever worked on anything in that caliber. This should be interesting...
  7. Not to my knowledge. My friend and Cameron are putting the whole bike together. I probably won't see it until it is done. I just kind of stepped in and told them what I wanted and I asked that they build it for me -- all the while billing me accordingly.
  8. Thanks for the support! Me, Cameron, and my friend who is setting all of this up, are getting together to plot the entire installation out. Cameron has said that my body weight is too much for the tranny if I were to go to any bigger block at all. So I think that the 16mill is the end of the line for reliability for my weight. Cameron has already started to piece the engine together. I'm currently awaiting his word. Could be a while. I hope to have the bike done around summertime of next year. I will most certainly post many pics up when I get the chance.
  9. I see what you're saying. Here's the deal. I went in to buy the bike in my sig. At that time, I did not quite have the money squared away, but I did have a bit. So I had the factory put in all the mods listed in my sig just to have fun with untill I had the main finances available. Around the same time I bought my bike, a good friend of mine bought an 06' shee as well. We figured that as soon as I get ready for the overhaul, I would sell him all the useless aftermarket parts that I already had on my bike to him for a major discount. So yes, you could say that I did waste some money on the few aftermarket parts but a couple grand out was not going to make that big a difference. So I thought why not?
  10. Well first off, understand that I am not getting anything for a "good" low price. I'm paying for everything close to retail because unlike a few of other people with special ties, I don't know too many people in this field. The money adds up when you buy the bike, build the engine, customize the suspension, customize airbrushing, carbon fiber kits, and whatever billet, chrome, powdercoated, etc... you want installed. I don't really care about getting the best deal. If it's a goal and you got the means, then do it! I haven't decided to enter it in competition yet, but I'm sure that option will be available when the time comes. Sorry this thread seems like a bs thread to you because it sure as hell does not feel like bs thread to me. I wouldn't be wasting my time if it was.
  11. Thanks everyone for your replies! Yeah, I'm really excited. It sounds like a good choice to go through Cameron. As far as cost, it looks like were going to hit just under the $30,000.00 marker for the grand total. I know it's a chunk of change however I've been riding that 250X since 1991 when I bought it, and now...it's time for a big change. My cousin has a Banshee (about 65 hp) that he has rode scince 89' and I used to try and keep up with him and his friends on their long rides through the flats. Me and the pore ole' 250X would always get left behind. So just recently I have been riding the Banshee I have as it sets, getting used to the power and practicing. So soon, we will see if I'm still going to be left behind. I hope not... again everyone for your replies!
  12. Thanks for the reply! I keep hearing that Cameron is really reliable, so that's good to hear. I know that the bike is undergoing an extensive group of mods. I decided to go with out of frame pipes, long travel suspension, 8-10" over ladder swing arms and any other odds and inns that Cameron recomends. I hope it turns out to be a unique bike to ride. I think that my 250x is starting to feel left out... Oh well... Maybe she'll get a street bike motor someday.
  13. Just a quick question.... I just ordered a 16mill cheetah kit for my shee and I was wandering if any of you have the same engine? I wanted to know if any of you felt it was enough power and how reliable it is. Redline Racing in Oregon is doing the engine and I've heard their pretty good. Any info about this engine would be appreciated. Thanks
