  1. Brian I talked with Bobby about a yr ago he told me they "could" build a trx or yfz 450 based frame... Now you have me interested. The 450 based option gives the bike so many more options. I hope they are still willing to do that. He told me 2500-3k? I have a few buddies wanting one and I have been kicking around the idea of building another one. I will call Monday and see what they could do with a run of 5 or so. Maybe get a group buy.
  2. I really don't get Yamaha. They build the one of a kind Banshee that still rules the dunes discontinue it, start the UTV game and now get killed by Polaris and can am and they still release warmed over 10+ yr old "new" yz 125 and 250 2stroke dirtbikes. Innovative at times yet stagnant! Potentially the best manufacturer yet.... they watch while Polaris of all companies builds a better UTV. They sitback while countless 2 stroke guys now build their own bikes and KTM now owns 2stroke dirtbike sales. They release old as shit designs and rarely upgrade. How about a tuned down r1 powered utv? Maybe some upgrades on the YZ line? They started the 4t craze.... Why not inovate again and bring in a new di or fi 450 2stroke dirt bike and atv? Anyone with half a brain can see that a bigbore 2stroke would sell. Hell I have 4 buddies that bought/built their own modern version 500 2stroke bikes and have 3 others that ride 500's. Yamaha needs to step up.
  3. The problem in most conversion cases is vibration. I have ridden 4 Cr500af's and was not impessed... First off the CR motor sucks compared to the kx500. My 96kx500 is vibrating sucker and those af's are so much worse. I bought 2 steel framed 04 yz250's (killer deals) with the idea of building a monster sf500 that handles. I took the nicer of the 2 YZ's a couple times and wow that little ported yz rips and has almost zero vibration. The bike feels a good 40lbs lighter than the kx5 and my vision isn't blurry after getting off the yz! So I scrapped the 500 project. I ordered a ESR345kit, 09yz450 SSS forks, 40mm smart carb, 09yz450 rear shock, swinger and linkage. Waiting on pc and suspension work to put it back together. Can't wait to see how it runs... It might be a interesting motor for a quad! No manufacturer has the nuts to do this but a new 450 2 stroke quad with fi in a mx frame might just demolish the current 450's. The amount of torque and usable power my kx500 produces is unreal. I think any of the manufacturers could fix the vibration issues and make a 450 version of that motor. It would be lighter, faster and cheaper to fix then the 4 stroke 450. Who here wouldn't buy that new yamaha?
  4. Complete working Gigot racing EFI kit! 600.00 Trinity stage4 pipes and silencers 275.00 LRD ported stock cylinders mx port need to be resleeved and a 7mill hotrod crank that would need rebuilt as well, stage 4 trinity head. It ran damn good 275.00 for it all. Cpi sb pipes pipes one prob (pictured) looks like previous owner tried to make a a small dent worse with his welder. It is hidden from view when on the bike 175.00 FMF pipes and silencers 150.00 Tires are Hoosiers rear and American racer fronts with damn near new wheels 150.00 for set. Stock axle ugly but in good shape 70.00 Stock 91 uncut wire harness 50.00 All prices are before shipping.
  5. 4 clicks different then my 7mill motor. Runs perfect!
  6. Would like to keep it all together... There is a spacer plate between the head and the cylinders that made everything work. It was a strong running setup. 300.00?
  7. Price drops! EFI kit 600.00 Trinity stage4 pipes 300.00 Trinity stage4 head, 7mill crank needs rebuilt, LRD mx port cylinders need sleeved 350.00
  8. Thanks for checking that out Brian. I found some cheap cpi's and some shearer's... I'm going to give them both a shot. I think the way the rear shock is mounted will be the issue for most pipes. I should be able to make them fit with some tweaking. The trinity's are nice cause you don't need pipe clamps for the silencers. Really there is just not a lot of room on these outlaws.
  9. Not being able to produce cast carbs on time is/has been their big issue. I dealt with Chad and he really seemed to want make sure I was taken care of. These carbs kinda make efi irrelevant unless you are wanting a turbo setup or running differentry tunes for gas, e85 or alky. Plus I lost a little over 12lbs ditching the efi! I guess if the metering rod is off it might be a pain but mine worked good for my 7mill and the new 10mill.
  10. Nice! Brian I thought you had those arms going on a 250r and were having issues getting them to fit? Trinitys aren't bad pipes at all. What do you have the snipers on and how do you like them? Worth the wait? It's pretty damn cool that there are 3 of us running aftermarket mx banshee frames... A few bozos on this site say it is a waste.
  11. Lastline that would be pretty awesome! What kind of setup do you have on your outlaw?
  12. Snipers would probably need to be hacked up as well. I'm not going to buy a brand new set of anything that I have to bend and tweak to make fit. It would be nice if I could get some donated pipes to try and make fit so I could buy the best ones. Honestly though it's not a drag bike and has more then enough power as is.
  13. Tires are both 20" and running Trinity's. They actually work pretty damn good I think. I think the trinity's are pretty underrated. That said Cam says I'm missing out on close to ten hp. So I am looking for sb inframes. The problem is the frame from LSR was built with Trinity pipes in mind. Bobby at lsr said shearer and Cpi's will take work to fit. Hoping to find some used ones to try out.
  14. Adding a few things. I have some stock LRD ported cylinders mx port need to be resleeved and a 7mill crank that would need rebuilt as well, stage 4 trinity head 400.00 for the whole package. Still have the fi and Trinity pipes as well. Shoot me some offers need a clean shop. Looking for some sb shearer's...possible trades!
  15. I have a 7mill crank and some LRD ported stock cylinders... The cylinders would need resleeved and the crank rebuilt. They ran dang good until my buddy ran my shee through a mud pit.. pods and mud are no good.
  16. 15-38 worked best in the dunes. Sand skate2's and 10 paddle edges. The edges hooked to much even with 10psi... going to Dumont for Thanksgiving bringing more sprockets and some straight paddles.
  17. Haven't had it on a dyno. I'm happy with it. Running it up sand mountain it was pulling 4th easily on the steepest side of the hill and my gearing is really tall (helps stay off the grab bar)
  18. Billet.. I got a pretty good deal ordered the 40mm at the same time.
  19. I am running 36mm carbs. The bike is a total package. Motor might be overkill for a -1 swinger. Keeping it on four wheels is a challenge. Gearing and tire preasure changes are helping. It's running pump gas right now. Going to try some smaller domes and run race gas. Have a 40mm smart carb going on a esr yz345 so pumped to ride that... waiting on suspension.
  20. Update. These carbs are sweet! A mud bogging buddy took down my fresh 7mill... So I'm now running a 10mill redline serval! The carbs worked perfect on a way different motor. Only needed a few clicks on the adjusters up top to get it dialed in! Took it out to Little Sahara UT last weekend! The shee runs so damn good. No mx track yet but soon.
  21. I never asked him it is really easy to tweak for altitude and temp. Kevin was extremely helpful when I called he helped me sort out a few little issue's over the phone. I would venture to say that Kevin could handle it no prob. The smart carbs work perfect for what I want!
  22. Cam has first dibs... but 40 mm throttle bodies, hand held tuner, kit was built by Kevin Gigot, it was pulled off my running 7mill stock cylinder motor and had tunes for e85 and race gas. The tuner was a little temperamental but kevin told me he could upgrade it. I was able to make it work so I never messed with it. I would have if I didn't have a inverter in my truck. My shee ran strong on the same top end for 3yrs with it...
  23. Oh man turbo build here you come! Kevin being close is perfect. Let me know... I can have it ready to ship tonight.
